AB  - The main goal of this work was comparative testing of fattening (body weight - gain, consumption - feed conversion and mortality) and classical (meat yield, warm and chilled carcasses, classical carcass yield - “prepared for the grill”) characteristics of two line hybrids of turkey (Hybrid Converter and Nicholas) fattened up to ten weeks (male and female specimens), i.e. up to 12, 14, 16 and 18 weeks of age (male specimens). Male specimens in relation to females had a higher growth, so that at the end of the tenth week of age average weight of male broilers was 5.22 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 4.64 kg (Nicholas). With eighteen weeks, average weight of males was 12.80 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 13.44 kg (Nicholas). Mortality till the tenth week of age (both genders of turkeys) was 5.07% (Hybrid Converter) and 4.17% (Nicholas). From the tenth to the eighteenth week of age mortality of males was 9.02% (Hybrid Converter) and 12.31% (Nicholas). Feed conversion to the tenth week of age to turkeys of the both genders was 2.47 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 2.49 kg (Nicholas). From the tenth to the eighteenth week of age feed conversion to the males was 3.72 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 3.82 kg (Nicholas). To the both hybrids of turkey, male specimens had statistically significant (P lt 0.05) lower yield of meat of warm and chilled carcasses, (carcass yield) at the age of ten weeks. Then, carcasses yield of the both sexes Hybrid Converter in relation to Nicholas was statistically significant lower (P lt 0.05). Therewith, yield of warm carcasses of males was statistically significant (P lt 0.05) lower to the hybrid Hybrid Converter in relation to the Nicholas at each age (12th, 16th, and 18th week), except 14th week because determined difference (-0.63%) wasn’t statistically confirmed (P>0.05). Similar statistical significance had been determined to the yield of chilled carcasses.
AB  - Osnovni cilj ovog rada je bio uporedno ispitivanje tovnih (telesna masa - prirast, utrošak - konverzija hrane i mortalitet) i klaničnih (prinos mesa toplih i ohlađenih trupova - klanicni randman “spremno za roštilj”) osobina dva linijska hibrida ćuraka (Hybrid Converter i Nicholas) tovljenih do 10 nedelja (muška i ženska grla), odnosno 12, 14, 16 i 18 nedelja starosti (muška grla). Muška grla, u odnosu na ženska, su imala veći prirast, tako da je na kraju 10. nedelje starosti prosecna masa muških brojlera iznosila 5,22 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 5,75 kg (Nicholas), a ženskih 4,67 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 4,64 kg (Nicholas). Sa 18 nedelja prosecna masa muških grla iznosila je 12,80 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 13,44 kg (Nicholas). Mortalitet do 10. nedelje starosti (oba pola ćuraka) iznosio je 5,07% (Hybrid Converter) i 4,17% (Nicholas). Od 10. do 18. nedelje starosti mortalitet muških grla iznosio je 9,02%o (Hybrid Converter) i 12,31%o (Nicholas). Konverzija hrane do 10. nedelje starosti brojlera oba pola iznosila je 2,47 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 2,49 kg (Nicholas). Od 10. do 18. nedelje konverzija hrane kod muških grla iznosila je 3,72 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 3,82 kg (Nicholas). Kod oba hibrida ćuraka muška grla su imala statistički značajno (P lt 0,05) manji prinos mesa toplih i ohlađenih trupova (klanični randman) pri starosti 10 nedelja. Prinos trupova oba pola brojlera Hybrid Converter u odnosu na Nicholas je bio statistički signifikantno manji (P lt 0,05). Pored toga, prinos toplih trupova muških grla je bio statistički signifikantno (P lt 0,05) manji kod hibrida Hybrid Converter, u odnosu na Nicholas, pri svakoj starosti (12., 16. i 18. nedelji), osim 14. nedelje, jer utvrđena razlika (-0,63%o) nije statistički potvrđena (P>0,05). Slična statistička značajnost utvrđena je i kod prinosa ohlađenih trupova.

The effect of triticales on the yield and meat quality of broilers

AB  - The influence of triticale as feed on the production and carcass traits of chickens is investigated in this paper. The study was conducted on 200 chickens for fattening, hybrid Ross 308. In the experiment, two groups, or treatments, were formed, with 100 chickens in each group. One group was the control group K, with the classical mixture fed to broilers, and the other one was the experimental O-group of chickens fed diets containing triticale genotypes Kg 20. The first diet was the standard starter, grower I, grower II and finisher and served as control. The other rations contained 7.5%, 12%, 15% and 18% triticale as graded replacement for wheat. During the fattening period, health conditions of broilers were periodically monitored, and the following fattening traits as well: weight gain (individual measurements of all the chickens once a week), feed intake and mortality. The feeding trial lasted for 42 days. Feed and water supply for chickens was ad libitum applying floor housing system. Since the yield of carcass as well as the yield and share of some meat categories of cold carcass dressing are very important factors of quality, the influence of feeding treatments on some mentioned traits was monitored. The results showed that the chickens in the control group (K), which were fed a mixture of standard feed, had slightly better productive results compared to chickens in the experimental groups (O), which were fed diets containing triticale. The average body weight of broiler chickens at 42 days of fattening was higher in chickens of K-group - 1896.875 g, and slightly lower in broiler chickens fed triticale - 1846.684 g. By the end of the experimental period (42 days) the highest feed consumption per chicken was recorded in the control group of chickens (4.332 kg). The experimental group of chickens which were fed classical diets had lower mortality throughout the experimental period.
AB  - U radu je ispitivan uticaj tritikalea kao hraniva na proizvodne i klanične osobine brojlerskih pilića. Istraživanje je sprovedeno na 200 pilića za tov, hibrida Ross 308. Tom prilikom, formirane su dve grupe brojlerskih pilića, ili tretmana, sa po 100 brojlerskih pilića u svakoj grupi, odnosno kontrolna K-grupa (klasična smeša za tov brojlera) i ogledna O-grupa (smeša sa tritikaleom genotip Kg 20). U toku tova kod ispitivanih grupa je praćeno zdravstveno stanje i vršila se kontrola tovnih osobina: prirast (individualnim merenjem svih pilića jednom nedeljno), utrošak hrane i mortalitet. Ogled ishrane trajao je 42 dana. Pilići su uzgajani u podnom sistemu držanja i hranjeni su ad libitum. Pošto je prinos trupova, kao i prinos i udeo pojedinih kategorija mesa obrađenih trupova pilića bitan činilac kvaliteta, praćen je uticaj tretmana ishrane na navedene osobine. Rezultati su pokazali da su brojlerski pilići kontrolne grupe (K) koji su hranjeni standardnom smešom imali nešto bolje proizvodne rezultate od brojlerskih pilića ogledne grupe (O), koji su hranjeni smešom sa tritikaleom. Prosečna telesna masa ispitivanih brojlerskih pilića 42. dana tova bila je veća kod pilića K-grupe i iznosila je (1896,875 g), a nešto manja kod brojlerskih pilića hranjenih tritikaleom (1846,684 g). Nešto veći utrošak hrane po piletu do kraja oglednog perioda (42. dana) imali su brojlerski pilići kontrolne grupe (4,332 kg). Međutim, ogledna grupa pilića koji su hranjeni smešom sa tritikaleom imali su manji mortalitet tokom celog eksperimentalnog perioda.

Comparative review of brooding eggs of the Sombor Kaporka and Newhamphshire breeds bred in semi extensive breeding system

AB  - In this paper result of external characteristics of brooding eggs originating from two breeds are presented, New-Hampshire and Sombor Crested, bread in semi extensive breeding system. Research was conducted on 30eggs from each analyzed breed, the parent flocks. Aim of the research was to examine the influence of genotype on basic egg quality parameters such as, weight, length, width and shape index for the brood as well as specifying the possibilities for preserving and enhancing the productive and reproductive traits of autochthonous chicken breeds compared to imported breeds. Obtained results point at the fact that Sombor Crested as autochthonous breed regarding the weight of eggs has similar results as New-Hampshire, as difference 1, 04 g has not shown any statistically significant difference (P>0,05). However, the obtained difference in length (0,48 cm) and width of the eggs (0,16 cm) were bigger at New-Hampshire breed and statistically significant (P lt 0,001), while at shape index difference of 1,00% was higher and statistically significant (P lt 0,001) at Sombor Crested. Results of conducted research shows that it is needed to pay more attention in brooding eggs quality, specially for autochthonous chicken breeds, then towards the breeding direction all with the goal to better their productive and reproductive traits. Moreover, by doing that we will preserve the autochthonous genetic potential of different species, breeds and lineages of chicken.
AB  - U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta jaja za nasad poreklom od dve rase kokoši, Njuhempšir i Somborska kaporka, gajenih u poluekstenzivnom sistemu držanja. Ispitivanja su izvršena na uzorku od po 30 jaja od obe analizirane rase, odnosno matična jata. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj genotipa na osnovne pokazatelje kvaliteta jaja, kao što su masa, dužina, širina i indeks oblika jaja za nasad i konkretnijeg sagledavanja mogućnosti očuvanja i unapređenja proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti autohnonih rasa kokoši u odnosu na uvozne rase. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na činjenicu da Somborska kaporka, kao autohtona rasa kokoši, u pogledu mase jaja ostvaruje slične rezultate kao Njuhempšir rasa, jer razlika od 1,04 g nije pokazala statistički značajnu razliku (P>0,05). Međutim, utvrđene razlike kod dužine (0,48 cm) i širine jaja (0,16 cm) su bile veće kod Njuhempšir rase kokoši i statistički signifikantne (P lt 0,001), dok je kod indeksa oblika razlika od 1,00% bila veća i statistički značajna (P lt 0,001) kod Somborske kaporke. Rezultati sprovedenih istraživanja ukazuju na to da je potrebno posvetiti veću pažnju ispitivanju kvaliteta jaja za nasad, naročito kod autohtonih rasa kokoši, zatim pravcu odgajivanja u cilju poboljšanja njihovih proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti, a samim tim i očuvanja autohtonog genetskog potencijala različitih vrsta, rasa i sojeva živine.

abstract = "In this paper result of external characteristics of brooding eggs originating from two breeds are presented, New-Hampshire and Sombor Crested, bread in semi extensive breeding system. Research was conducted on 30eggs from each analyzed breed, the parent flocks. Aim of the research was to examine the influence of genotype on basic egg quality parameters such as, weight, length, width and shape index for the brood as well as specifying the possibilities for preserving and enhancing the productive and reproductive traits of autochthonous chicken breeds compared to imported breeds. Obtained results point at the fact that Sombor Crested as autochthonous breed regarding the weight of eggs has similar results as New-Hampshire, as difference 1, 04 g has not shown any statistically significant difference (P>0,05). However, the obtained difference in length (0,48 cm) and width of the eggs (0,16 cm) were bigger at New-Hampshire breed and statistically significant (P lt 0,001), while at shape index difference of 1,00% was higher and statistically significant (P lt 0,001) at Sombor Crested. Results of conducted research shows that it is needed to pay more attention in brooding eggs quality, specially for autochthonous chicken breeds, then towards the breeding direction all with the goal to better their productive and reproductive traits. Moreover, by doing that we will preserve the autochthonous genetic potential of different species, breeds and lineages of chicken., U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta jaja za nasad poreklom od dve rase kokoši, Njuhempšir i Somborska kaporka, gajenih u poluekstenzivnom sistemu držanja. Ispitivanja su izvršena na uzorku od po 30 jaja od obe analizirane rase, odnosno matična jata. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj genotipa na osnovne pokazatelje kvaliteta jaja, kao što su masa, dužina, širina i indeks oblika jaja za nasad i konkretnijeg sagledavanja mogućnosti očuvanja i unapređenja proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti autohnonih rasa kokoši u odnosu na uvozne rase. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na činjenicu da Somborska kaporka, kao autohtona rasa kokoši, u pogledu mase jaja ostvaruje slične rezultate kao Njuhempšir rasa, jer razlika od 1,04 g nije pokazala statistički značajnu razliku (P>0,05). Međutim, utvrđene razlike kod dužine (0,48 cm) i širine jaja (0,16 cm) su bile veće kod Njuhempšir rase kokoši i statistički signifikantne (P lt 0,001), dok je kod indeksa oblika razlika od 1,00% bila veća i statistički značajna (P lt 0,001) kod Somborske kaporke. Rezultati sprovedenih istraživanja ukazuju na to da je potrebno posvetiti veću pažnju ispitivanju kvaliteta jaja za nasad, naročito kod autohtonih rasa kokoši, zatim pravcu odgajivanja u cilju poboljšanja njihovih proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti, a samim tim i očuvanja autohtonog genetskog potencijala različitih vrsta, rasa i sojeva živine.",

AB  - Sarajevo-Romanija region entirely belongs to the hilly and mountainous region where livestock production is the dominant form of agriculture. The paper presents results of a research conducted on a sample of ten farms engaged in dairy production. The use of scientific methods has helped us gain a clearer picture of basic organizational and economic characteristics of dairy production in the Sarajevo-Romanija region. Farm production conditions are characterized by marked heterogeneity, resulting in variability of economic performance. In cases where there was a higher degree of fulfillment of prescribed organizational and technological measures, satisfactory economic performance was achieved and the farms, with additional improvements implemented, have further prospects in milk and calf production.
AB  - Sarajevsko-romanijska regija u potpunosti pripada brdsko-planinskom području, gdje je stočarstvo preovlađujući oblik poljoprivredne proizvodnje. U radu su predstavljeni rezultati istraživanja sprovedenih na uzorku od deset porodičnih gazdinstava koja se bave proizvodnjom mlijeka. Uslovi proizvodnje na gazdinstvima karakterišu se izraženom heterogenošću, što prouzrokuje varijabilitet ekonomskog uspjeha poslovanja. U slučajevima gdje je zabilježen viši stepen ispunjenja propisanih organizaciono-tehnološkim mjera ostvareni su zadovoljavajući ekonomski rezultati i ta gazdinstva, uz dodatna poboljšanja, imaju dalju perspektivu u proizvodnji mlijeka i teladi.

Weight and egg quality correlation relationship on different age laying hens

AB  - With the aim to determine the influence of Lohman Brown laying hen hybrids age and eggs weight on some characteristics of eggs quality-structure and their correlation relationship, experiment was conducted on two egg samples (160 + 160 = 320 eggs) derived from 20 weeks (the oviposition intensity - 18.29%) and 28 weeks (maximum oviposition - 95.69%) old hens. With laying hens aging there was statistically significant increase (P  lt  0.001) of average eggs weight from 46.15 up to 59.89 g. Similarly, the absolute proportion of shell, yolk and egg albumen in weight was significantly higher (P  lt  0.001) at 28 weeks old laying hens than in 20 weeks old laying hens. Percentage share of raw shell in eggs weight was almost similar in both age hens' groups (13.27 - 13.41%); yolk percentage share was significantly higher (P  lt  0.001) at older hens (25.90%) than at younger hens (23.60%), while the albumen percentage share in the egg weight situation was reversed, i.e. younger hens (lighter eggs) had a higher albumen percentage share (63.13%) from hens 28 weeks old (60.69%) (P  lt  0.001). At young laying hens (lighter eggs) phenotypic correlation coefficient between egg weight and crude shells percentage share was -0.425 (P  lt  0.001), the yolk percentage share -0.093 (P > 0.05) and percentage of albumen share 0.086 (P > 0.05). At 28 weeks old laying hens (heavier eggs) correlation coefficient between egg weight and percentage share of shell, yolk and albumen were: raw shell -0.142 (P > 0.05), egg yolk -0.776 (P  lt  0.001) and 0.534 egg albumens (P  lt  0.001).

AB  - In the second half of the 20-th century there was a sudden development of feed milling industry, as a result of the need of general progress and improvement of standard of living. Feed milling industry become one of the most developed areas of industry. The development of this industry is based on the use of the latest knowledge in the field of animal nutrition science, engineering and information technologies. As a result, the modern models of mixers are used today, which are able to achieve high degree of homogeneousness of concentrate mixtures, feed shaping machines (pellet mills), equipment for hydro thermal processing (extruders and expanders), devices for addition of fat, robots for bagging and many others. The maximal control and synchronization of work of all these machines is achieved with computers, while quality control in raw materials and final products is done with modern analytical devices. In the production of concentrate mixtures also various additives are used, which have nutritive or pronutritive role, or are important in prophylactic protection of animals and also conditioners. There is an increasing demand for quality control of concentrate mixtures, and the HACCP system is used in recent years to maintain the product’s quality.
AB  - U drugoj polovini XX veka dolazi do naglog razvoja industrije hrane za životinje, kao rezultata i zahteva opšteg društvenog progresa i porasta standarda stanovništva. U skladu sa tim, industrija hrane za životinje postaje u mnogim zemljama jedna od najrazvijenijih industrijskih grana. Razvoj ove industrije zasniva se na korišćenju najnovijih znanja iz oblasti nauke o ishrani životinja, zatim mašinske industrije i informatike. U skladu sa tim, danas se koriste savremeni tipovi mešalica kojima se postiže visok stepen homogenosti smeša, mašine za uobličavanje hraniva (peletirke), oprema za hidrotermičku obradu hraniva (ekstruderi i ekspanderi), uređaji za dodavanje velikih količina masti, roboti za uvrećavanje gotovih proizvoda i dr. Maksimalna kontrola i sinhronizacija rada svih ovih mašina obavlja se savremenim kompjuterima, dok se kotrola kvaliteta hraniva i gotovih proizvoda obavlja savremenim analitičkim sredstvima. Pored uobičajenih hraniva, u proizvodnji smeša koncentrata koriste se i različite vrste dodataka, koji imaju hranljivu ili pronutritivnu ulogu, ili su značajni kao profilaktici i kondicioneri. Kvalitet smeša koncentrata je pred sve strožijim kriterijumima, od kojih u zadnje vreme najveći značaj ima HACCP sistem.

AB  - In aim was given actually, different additions in poultry nutrition, which correcting production results. Use of antibiotics, like stimulation additions, was prohibition in EU, well today are actually additions in type probiotics and prebiotics. Specific digestion at poultry needs enzyme of celluloid and phytase. Big significance are giving to trace elements, like selen, which level added to nutrition has positive effect on increase, reproduction characteristic, health condition. .
AB  - U radu je dat pregled aktuelnih dodataka u ishrani živine, koji su značajni za poboljšanje proizvodnih rezultata, uz maksimalno moguće poštovanje zahtjeva potrošača. Uloga aditiva je nutritivna, stimulativna i preventivna, ili se koriste kao konzervansi, antioksidansi, enzimi, kiseline, arome, boje i dr. U nutritivne svrhe kao dodaci koriste se: sintetičke aminokiseline, mikroelementi i vitamini. Stimulativnu ulogu imaju probiotici i prebiotici, a preventivnu kokcidiostatici i antihelmintici. Pored nabrojanih, veliki značaj imaju i enzimski preparati (pre svega fitaze), pigmenti i zeoliti. .

AB  - The production and use of feedstuffs of animal origin in our country and the world are explained in the paper. The use of all feedstuffs of animal origin, with the exception of milk products, is forbidden in ruminant feeding due to danger of distribution of lethal disease Bovine spongiform encephalopathy-BSE, and their use is limited in nonruminant nutrition (pigs and poultry). Instead of those feedstuffs various substitutions based on combined plant feeds and synthetic amino acids, or commercial fish meal substitutes are gaining popularity in nonruminant nutrition. In ruminant nutrition there was never widely accepted practice to use animal feedstuffs in our country, aside from dried skimmed milk in milk replacer formulas for calves, lambs and kids. As an alternative, there is a practice to include some urea in concentrate mixtures or when silage is made, which is increasing the crude protein content and significantly decrease costs of feeding. .
AB  - U radu je dat pregled proizvodnje i upotrebe hraniva animalnog porekla u našoj zemlji i svetu. Korišćenje hraniva animalnog porekla, sa izuzetkom mleka i proizvoda prerade mleka, zabranjeno je u ishrani preživara zbog opasnosti prenošenja i širenja bolesti Bovine spongiform encephalopathy-BSE (kravlje ludilo), a ograničeno je u ishrani nepreživara (svinja i živine). U ishrani nepreživara sve se češće koriste adekvatne zamene, na bazi kombinacije kvalitetnih hraniva biljnog porekla i sintetičkih aminokiselina, ili komercijalnih zamena za riblje brašno. U ishrani preživara kod nas nikada nije ni postojala praksa upotrebe hraniva animalnog porekla, osim mleka u prahu u zamenama za mleko za telad, jagnjad i jarad. Umesto toga, i danas se praktikuje da se u smeše koncentrata ili pri siliranju kukuruza uključuju odgovarajuće doze uree, čime se povećava količina sirovih proteina, a istovremeno značajno pojeftinjuje ishrana. .

AB  - The research was aimed phenotipyc demonstrate and variability growth cows of gray Alp race cattle in the first fertilization and the first calving, during of pregnancy and the weight calves at birth, like interactive this characteristics. It was noted that the average age during the first fertilization amounted to 639.29 days, and that over the first calving 921.30 days. The average duration of pregnancy was 285.40 days with coefficient of variability 0,31 %. The weight of both sexes at birth averaged 32.97 kg, with variability 22 - 60 kg. Interactive between growth of the first fertilization, the weight at birth, the days of pregnancy, show that the changes in weight calves are not independent by growth of first fertilization are statically highly significant (P lt 0,01), and the days of pregnancy are independent from growth in the first fertilization and first calves (P lt 0,05) are not statistically significant.
AB  - U radu je ispitivana fenotipska ispoljenost i varijabilnost uzrasta krava sive alpske rase goveda pri prvoj oplodnji i prvom teljenju, dužina trajanja graviditeta i masa teladi pri rođenju, kao i međuzavisnost ovih osobina. Ustanovljeno je da je uzrast krava pri prvoj oplodnji iznosio prosječno 639,29 dana, a pri prvom teljenju 921,29 dana. Dužina trajanja steonosti je bila u prosjeku 285,40 dana sa varijacionim koeficijentom od 0,31%. Prosječna porodna masa teladi je iznosila 32,97 kg sa varijacijama od 22-60 kg. Međuzavisnost između uzrasta pri prvom pripustu, tjelesne mase pri rođenju, dana steonosti, pokazuje da je tendencija promjene tjelesne mase teladi u zavisnosti od uzrasta pri prvom pripustu statistički vrlo visoko značajna (P lt 0,01), a da su dani bremenitosti nezavisni od uzrasta pri prvom pripustu i prvom telenju (P>0,05), što je statistički neznačajno.
