AB  - Red clover is an important fodder crop grown in all agricultural areas of the world, but is most
productive in temperate zones. It can be sown as a monoculture, but is a more often a component
of clover-grass mixtures. 46 red clover accessions were analyzed to determine the proportion of
surviving genotypes and observations were made during the second year of cultivation. The red
clover collection included accessions of different geographical origin and the trial was guided in
a randomized block design with three replicates at the testing place Rimski Šančevi in Novi Sad,
Serbia. Our results showed that the degree of ploidy had no effect on the distribution of surviving
plants. The most numerous and persistent genotypes were predominantly of southern European
and American/Australian origin. Genotypes from north-western Europe and central-eastern
Europe showed no tendency to group, but were evenly represented in terms of survival rate. The
observed phenotypic variation in the number of surviving red clover genotypes is the result of
both genetic and environmental factors, and when selecting for improved tolerance to biotic and
abiotic stress and for persistence, the origin of the parental material must be taken into account.

The impact of PEG-induced drought stress on early vigour traits of bread wheat

AB  - A total of 11 genotypes from the collection of 101 bread wheat genotypes, with desirable traits in terms of increased tolerance to drought, were chosen for parents and eight crosses were performed. Number of seminal roots (NSR), total root length (TRL), root dry mass (RDM), number of shoots per plant (NS), main shoot length (MSL), shoot dry mass (SDM), number of leaves per plant (NL), leaf area per plant (LA), leaf dry mass (LDM), aboveground dry mass (ADM), SDM/LDM, RDM/ADM were analysed at the boot stage (Z45). The F1 progeny had on average higher mean values (P < 0.001) than parents for four traits: RDM, NS, LA and RDM/ADM. The highest broad sense heritability values were determined for RDM (97.6%) and NSR (93.9%). Factor analysis indicated that a large root system, higher RDM and TRL are associated with higher NS, NL, LA and LDM. For Euclid x CHI-4 and WWBMC2 x Ingenio combinations the highest heterosis values were observed for TRL (34.1%) and SDM (23.7%), for RDM (28.6%) and LA (26.8%), respectively. PEG-induced drought stress in the seedling stage, in most of the new germplasm, caused an increased redistribution of dry matter in the root compared to the stem.

Root system architecture and stem traits of bread wheat seedlings under contrasting water regimes

AB  - Differential response of bread wheat seedlings to contrasting water regimes can be used to determine traits related to
drought tolerance. The F1 offspring from eight crosses and 11 selected parental genotypes were simultaneously grown in
hydroponic cultivation-polyethylene glycol (PEG) induced drought stress vs. control conditions. Criteria for selection of
maternal and paternal genotypes were desirable traits in terms of increased tolerance to drought: longer stem length,
longer primary root, large number of seminal roots, large root dry mass and stem dry mass, beginning of root branching
at the greatest possible distance from beginning of the root, contrasting angle of seminal roots. The traits were measured
on 14 day old seedlings: primary root length (PRL), distance to the first branch on the primary root (DFBR), number of
seminal roots (NSR), total seminal root length (TSRL), angle of seminal roots (ASR), stem length (SL), root dry mass
(RDM), stem dry mass (SDM), and the ratio of root dry mass to stem dry mass (RDM/SDM). Drought stress led to a
decrease in the mean values of all root and stem traits by 11% on average, except for RDM/SDM which was increased.
The most sensitive trait to drought stress was DFBR (25% reduction), causing root systems to branch at a shallower
depth. In conditions of induced drought stress, the strongest statistically significant correlation was found among RDM
and RDM/SDM (r = 0.794), SL and ASR (r = 0.708), RDM and TSRL (r = 0.673). The stress tolerance index had the
strongest positive correlation with the SDM, PRL, TSRL, SL, and the stress susceptibility index with the NSR. The
highest heterosis mean value was observed for PRL (24.6%) and for SL (15.6%) under drought stress. The different
directions of average heterosis in induced drought stress vs. control conditions were observed for DFBR, RDM, and
SDM, indicating differential traits to account for when planning breeding bread wheat for drought tolerance. Selected
traits as criteria for selection and favorable combinations can be incorporated into pre-breeding and breeding schemes,
directly or indirectly, aiming to achieve drought tolerance.

AB  - With global climate change, including unpredictable geographic and temporal weather patterns causing
significant Genotype × Environment interaction (GEI), modelling by climate variables can reveal their
influence on phenophases of maize (Zea mays L.) development. The objectives of this study were dissection
of the phenotypic variation of grain yield of late maturity maize hybrids grown in multi-environment trial,
and quantification of the influence of climatic factors on the GEI for each vegetative and reproductive
phenophase. Eight FAO 700 maize hybrids were evaluated across five locations in Serbia during 2020 and
2021 years. The hierarchy of sources of variation according to three-way ANOVA were: Year (Y) >
Location (L) > Location×Genotype (G) > L×Y×G > G > L×Y > Y×G. The average maximum temperature
(mxt, 22.1%), average minimum temperature (mnt, 19.2%), average mean temperature (mt, 18.2%) and
relative humidity (rh, 15.1%) in April significantly influenced emergence stage. The mxt (21.1%) and mt
(15.7%) in May influenced significantly vegetative phases V1-V9. June contributed the largest percentage
of the sum of squares of the GEI with mxt (25.2%), mnt (20.9%), mt (16.1%) influencing vegetative phases
V10-V18 and tassel emergence. In July mxt (17%), mt (15.6%), precipitation sum (15.2%), and sunshine
hours sum (15.1%), influenced R1, R2, R3, and R4 reproductive phases. In August mxt (23.2%), mnt
(20.8%), mt (15.7%), rh (17.1%) influenced R5 reproductive phase. The extreme heat as a stressor had a
more critical role for late maturity maize hybrids production than drought in crucial phenophases of maize
development.

AB  - Broj klasova po jedinice površine ima značajan uticaj na formiranje
prinosa kroz osobine, dužinu klasa, broj klasaka u klasu, broj semena u
klasu, masu klasa, masu semena u klasu i masu 1000 semena. Cilj rada je
izučavanje variranja broja klasova pšenice u različitim rokovima i
gustinama setve. U istraživanja su uključene dve sorte pšenice (Prima i
Simonida), u ogledu sa dva roka i tri gustine setve u dve vegetacione
sezone. Rezultati su pokazali značajne razlike u broju klasova m-2, između
sorti, prema gustini setve, po rokovima setve i između dve vegetacione
sezone. U obe vegetacione sezone, najmanji broj klasova m-2 je nađen pri
gustini setve 350 semena m-2 kod obe sorte i to 504,50 i 350,33 kod Prime
i 520,50 i 371,83 kod Simonide, dok je najveći broj klasova m-2 utvrđen
pri najvećoj gustini setve (750 semena) i to 558,32 i 372,50 kod sorte Prima
i 590,17 u prvoj i 622,17 klasova kod sorte Simonida u drugoj godini. Broj
klasova m-2 je varirao zavisno od genotipa, gustine setve, vremena setve i
uslova u vegetacionoj sezoni.

Provera autentičnosti ratarskih proizvoda molekularno-genetičkim metodama

AB  - Аутентичност хране је термин који се односи на подударање састава и садржаја хране и производа
од хране са декларацијом (описом). Преваре у погледу аутентичности хране се могу груписати
у три категорије: 1) замена аутентичног састојка са другим јефтинијим неаутентичним састојком
хране; 2) додавање недекларисаног неаутентичног састојка; 3) уклањање аутентичног састојка
хране. ДНК је отпорнија на индустријску прераду (висока температура, екстремни pH) у односу
на протеине и секундарне метаболите. За разлику од протеина, ДНК (или фрагменти ДНК) могу
да опстану након интензивне прераде излагањем температурама и до 120 °C (стерилизација при
конзервирању), и могу да буду детектовани методама идентификације. Профили протеина се
разликују у зависности од врсте ткива док је ДНК узета из било које ћелије организма иста, па
се било које ткиво може користити за идентификацију. За разликовањe јединки и сората (варијетета)
житарица (ДНК фингерпринтинг) служе ДНК секвенце које имају висок ниво полиморфизма
међу јединкама и популацијама, а у које спадају минисателити, SSR маркери (микросателити)
и SNP маркери. Real-time PCR методе уз коришћење анализе криве топљења служе за дискриминацију
пшенице, ражи, јечма и овса у узорцима хране на основу таргет гена за: ω-глијадин (пшеница);
ω-секалин (раж); хордеин (јечам); авенин (овас); и за дискриминацију ражи и тритикалеа на
основу таргет гена ω-секалина, и trnL интрона хлоропласта, што је важно за проверу аутентичности
прехрамбених производа који су означени да не садрже глутен. Коришћењем дуплекс PCR
методе са геном пуроиндолином b као таргетом у тестенини осушеној на високим температурама
омогућена је истовремена детекција обе врсте пшенице-T. durum и Т. aestivum ssp. aestivum са
границом детекције од 0.2% (w/w). Најчешћи скрининг таргети за Real-time PCR детекцију ГМО
су: промотор 35S мозаичног вирус карфиола, синтетички конструкт из Bacillus thuringiensis,
CryIA(b) синтетички ген, промотор 35S мозаичног вируса струпника, ген за неомицин
фосфотрансферазу II.

AB  - Glijadini i glutenini se deponuju u endospermu semena i imaju najveći udeo u
sadržaju proteina semena. Cilj ovog rada je identifikacija polimorfizama genskih
alela koji kodiraju glijadine i glutenine. U istraživanje je uključeno 10 sorti pšenice. Od svakog genotipa je korišćeno 30 semena za ekstrakciju glijadina sa 70%
etanolom, a glutenina sa 10% β-merkaptoetanolom. Glijadini su razdvojeni elektroforezom u rastvoru pufera (pH=3,1) na 8,33% poliakrilamidnom gelu, dok su
glutenini razdvajani pomoću SDS-PAGE (pH-8,6) na 11,8% gelu. Elektroforegrami
su korišćeni za određivanje alela Gli-1 i Gli-2, kao i alela Glu-1. Identifikovano je
pet alela (a, b, c, f, m) na Gli-A1, četiri alela (b, g, e, l) na Gli-B1, četiri alela (a,
b, g, k) na Gli-D1, pet alela (b, e, g, m, n) na Gli-A2, šest alela (b, c, d, g, k, o) na
Gli-B2 i tri alela (a, b , e, h, m) na Gli-D2 lokusu. Za podjedinice glutenina visoke
molekularne mase (HMVGS) je identifikovano tri alela (a, b, c) na Glu-A1, sedam
alela (a, b, c, d, f, h, i) na Glu-B1 i tri alela (a, c, d) na Glu-D1. Identifikovani aleli
na svakom Gli-1, Gli-2 i Glu-1 lokusu ukazuju na visok polimorfizam proteina
glutena i genetičku divergentnost analiziranih genotipova pšenice.

Ocena tolerantnosti genotipova pšenice na indukovani osmotski stres u fazi klijanaca

AB  - Ocena genotipova pšenice u ranim fazama porasta, u fazi klijanaca, prema tolerantnosti na sušu
predstavlja moćan alat u oplemenjivanju pšenice, s’obzirom na to da su istraživanja na pšenici pokazala da je tolerantnost genotipova na sušu u fazi klijanaca u velikoj meri povezana sa tolerantnošću
odraslih biljaka u poljskim uslovima. U radu je izvršena ocena tolerantnosti 19 genotipova pšenice
u fazi klijanaca uzgajanih u hidroponskim uslovima na indukovani osmotski stres. Osmotski stres
usled isušivanja koji simulira prirodni stres izazvan sušom, indukovan je upotrebom hemijskog
jedinjenja polietilen-glikola (PEG-6000). Tolerantnost genotipova na indukovani osmotski stres
prikazana je indeksima stresa: indeksom tolerantnosti na stres (STI) i indeksom osetljivosti na
stres (SSI). Najosetljiviji na indukovani osmotski stres bili su genotipovi Pobeda i Ingenio, čije su
vrednosti SSI indeksa iznosile 2,49 i 2,10. Najotpornije na osmotski stres bilo je F1 potomstvo
ukrštanja Dika x Donska sa vrednošću SSI indeksa 0,24. Najviše vrednosti STI indeksa zabeležene
su kod genotipa Phoenix (1,11) i Ingenio (1,00) za koje se pokazalo da imaju visok potencijal za
proizvodnju ukupne biomase u uslovima bez stresa, dok je njeno smanjenje u stresnim uslovima
bilo zadovoljavajuće. Najniže vrednosti STI indeksa imalo je F1 potomstvo ukrštanja Pobeda x
Brigant (0,70), te genotipovi NS 40S (0,71) i WWBMC2 (0,76). Oni su pokazali niske vrednosti
ukupne biomase u uslovima bez stresa i njeno značajno smanjenje u uslovima osmotskog stresa.
Pet potomstava F1 generacije se izdvojilo kao superiorno u fazi klijanaca i u optimalnim i u uslovima osmotskog stresa: Dika x Donska, WWBMC2 x Ingenio, Dika x Ingenio, Pobeda x Donska,
Phoenix x NS 40S. Ispitivani genotipovi sa područja Srbije (Pobeda, Zemunska Rosa i NS 40S)
pokazali su visoku osetljivost na osmotski stres i visok potencijal za proizvodnju ukupne biomase.

Brigant (0,70), te genotipovi NS 40S (0,71) i WWBMC2 (0,76). Oni su pokazali niske vrednosti
ukupne biomase u uslovima bez stresa i njeno značajno smanjenje u uslovima osmotskog stresa.
Pet potomstava F1 generacije se izdvojilo kao superiorno u fazi klijanaca i u optimalnim i u uslovima osmotskog stresa: Dika x Donska, WWBMC2 x Ingenio, Dika x Ingenio, Pobeda x Donska,
Phoenix x NS 40S. Ispitivani genotipovi sa područja Srbije (Pobeda, Zemunska Rosa i NS 40S)
pokazali su visoku osetljivost na osmotski stres i visok potencijal za proizvodnju ukupne biomase.",

AB  - With global climate change including unpredictable geographic and temporal weather
patterns that lead to significant genotype × environment interaction (GEI) the maize
performance assessment would need to be complemented with stability analysis. The
objectives of this study were: i) estimation of parametric and non-parametric stability
indices for grain yield of late maturity maize hybrids, ii) assessing correlations and
grouping of stability indices for grain yield of late maturity maize hybrids. The eight
maize hybrids of FAO 700 maturity group (ZP1-ZP7, and check Ch) were evaluated for
grain yield in the multi-environment trial including five locations in Serbia during 2020.
and 2021. year. Stability analyses included twenty parametric and non-parametric indices,
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Pearson’s correlations between stability
indices. The sum of ranks for tested late maturity maize hybrids were in the interval from
37 (ZP6) to 146 (ZP4). The average rank was in the range from 1.8 (ZP6) to 7.3 (ZP4).
The interval of variation for standard deviation of average ranks for tested maize hybrids
was from 1.3 (ZP4, Ch) to 2 (ZP2) indicating satisfying accordance of utilized parametric
and non-parametric stability measures. The highest average grain yield across all tested
environments was observed for ZP1, which was second most stable hybrid. The most
stable late maturity maize hybrid tested over ten environments was proven to be ZP6 with
sum of ranks and average rank of 37 and 1.8, respectively, with standard deviation of
average rank 1.5. PCA biplot showed two groups of parametric and non-parametric stability estimates: I group-coefficient of variation (CVi), Eberhart and Russel’s regression
coefficient (bi), Perkins and Jinks’s regression coefficient (Bi), GEI variance component
(θ(i)), coefficient of determination ( ); II group-Eberhart and Russel’s deviation from
regression , Wricke’s ecovalence Shukla’s stability variance Perkins
and Jink’s deviation from regression , superiority measure the mean of the
absolute rank differences of a genotype over all tested environments the variance
among the genotype ranks over all tested environments ( , the sum of the absolute
deviations for each genotype relative to the mean of ranks , the sum of squares of rank

AB  - The aim of this study was determination of protein content and amino acid composition in seeds of bread wheat, with particular focus of evaluation essential amino acids (EAAs). For analysis used flour samples of grained seed of 10 wheat variety, which selected in different breeding center (in Novi Sad and Kragujevac, Serbia). Kjeldahl method was used for determination of nitrogen (N) contents which value multiplied with coefficient 5.7 for computing protein content (protein contents = 5.7 x % N contents). Amino acids analyses of wheat samples were performed by ion exchange chromatography, followed by the ninhydrin colour reaction and photometric detection at 570 nm and 440 nm (for proline). The results showed that the mean protein content for wheat varied from the lowest value 10.24% in Ljubičevka to the highest 14.21% in Fortuna variety. The mean contents (g 100 g-l protein) of nonessential amino acids (NEAAs) were aspartic acid 5.42%, serine 4.23%, glutamic acid 18.51%, proline 12.18%, glycine 4.17%, alanine 3.64%, tyrosine 2.52%, arginine 5.02%, while mean contents of essential amino acids (EAAs) were threonine 2.86%, valine 4.52%, methionine 1.28%, isoleucine 3.87%, leucine 5.87%, phenylalanine 4.62%, histidine 2.46%, lysine 2.91%. The wheat variety contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs. The variety Ljubičevka contained relatively high concentration of the most deficient EAAs (threonine, valine, leucine, lysine,). The highest value (29.31 g 100 g-l protein) of total essential amino acids (TEAA), 59.79 g 100 g-l protein of total nonessential amino acids (TNEAA) as well as the highest value (90.35 g 100 g-l protein) of total amino acids (TAA). Obtained results provide variability of wheat variety on the base of amino acid contents and indicate reliable variety for selecting desirable parents in breeding program for improving nutrient quality © 2023, Genetika.All Rights Reserved.

AB  - Red clover (Trifolium pretense L.) is a source of highly nutritional voluminous forage for
livestock feed. The objectives of this investigation were to: I) annotate associations of agronomic
and forage quality traits of red clover accessions; II) group accessions in relation to analyzed
traits. The plant material used included 46 cultivars and local populations, which originated from
17 countries, representing part of the red clover collection from the Institute of Field and
Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Serbia. The field trial was sown during two growing seasons in
Novi Sad. The agronomic traits (plant height-PH, internodes number per stem-IN, green mass
yield-GMY, dry matter yield-DMY) were evaluated from the second cut in the nursery of the
second year of life. Forage quality traits analyzed were content of neutral detergent fibers (NDF),
acid detergent fiber (ADF), and crude protein (CP). In regard to very strong associations of PH,
GMY and DMY, and to moderately strong associations of PH and IN, it could be anticipated that
the indirect selection for higher plants with higher IN can lead to higher GMY and DMY. The
breeding of red clover for NDF and ADF and elevated CP might be successful, but can reduce
herbage yield (due to very weak positive and negative associations with GMY and DMY). The
accessions were grouped to the six clusters which can facilitate selection and breeding for
different agronomic and quality objectives.

wheat varieties. İn this investigation analyzed diversity and fluctuation wheat varieties which
grown in Serbia from 19 to 21 century. İn the end of 19th century farmers grown indigeneous
population, introduced foreign genotypes, local populations, old varieties approved after
period of Green Revolution and modern wheat varieties. Also in study presented work on
collection old wheat genotypes and local population, and distribution genotypes on localities
were collected as well İnstitution where collected genotypes deposited. The differences
between old and modern wheat varieties were established for yield, protein content, quality,
resistance to diseases, resistance and susceptibility to low temperature, lodging etc. On the
base of analysis can be concluded that old varieties and local populations are valuable
resources of desirable genes for further wheat breeding for improving yield, quality and
adaptability of further varieties which will be create.

AB  - This paper presents research of production possibilities of miscanthus (Mischantus ×
giganteus Greef et Deu) in agroecological conditions of Serbia. For that purpose, an experiment was
set up in Srem on the site of Podunavlje village of Surduk. The soil on which the plantation was
established in 2012 belongs to the type of carbonate chernozem on a loess plateau, at an altitude of
150 m. Stalk height in the panicle stage and yield of dry miscanthus stalks during five years, from 2015
to 2019, as well as the content of cellulose in dry stalks depending on agroecological conditions and
variants of fertilization without top dressing and with spring top dressing of 30 kg ha1 of nitrogen
fertilizer, were analysed. The highest recorded yield of dry stalks was in 2019 (34.525 kg ha1
), and the
lowest recorded yield was in the dry year of 2017 (17.980 kg ha1
), both in the variant with top-dressing.

AB  - Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) is a meadow and pasture species in natural habitats and also a cultivated species used for
animal nutrition. The aim of this research was the assessment of the diversity of 46 red clover accessions based on morphoproductive traits. The traits were investigated according to the UPOV descriptors for red clover – number of internodes, number
of branches, stem length, stem thickness, middle leaflet length, middle leaflet width, green matter yield and dry matter yield.
The principal components analysis (PCA) explained 74% of the variance of the standardized data and showed relationships
between 46 red clover accessions and eight morpho-productive traits, associations among traits and performance of accessions.
Among the determined Euclidean distances, the smallest value was obtained for the accessions Rotra and Titus (0.048), the
largest value was 1.099 for a pair of NCPGRU2 and Čortanovci accessions, and the average value was 0.380. Two clusters of 46 red
clover accessions were separated in the dendrogram based upon UPGMA (Unweighted Pair-Group Method with Arithmetic mean)
for eight morpho-productive traits. The first cluster included two subclusters, while the second cluster contained four
subclusters. The grouping of the accessions from the red clover collection by the UPGMA cluster analysis can be linked to the
geographical origin of the accessions: central and southern Europe for three subclusters and north-eastern Europe for one
subcluster.

AB  - Red clover is an important perennial forage legume and a rich source of highly nutritional voluminous forage for livestock feed, which is continuously improved by plant breeding efforts that rely significantly on trait correlation studies. A two-year field trial was conducted at Rimski Šančevi, Novi Sad, Serbia. The aim of this research was to assess correlations of important morpho-agronomic traits and forage quality properties of 46 red clover accessions of diverse origins. The highest Spearman’s correlation coefficient (0.97, p<0.01) was found between the branch number and internode number per stem in the first experimental year. The green mass yield and the dry matter yield in both years had very high (0.95, p<0.01) and high (0.86, p<0.01) correlations, respectively. The stem height and internode number per stem had intermediate correlations in both years (0.68, p<0.01, and 0.50, p<0.01, respectively), and stem height exhibited an intermediate correlation with green mass yield (0.57, p<0.01, and 0.62, p<0.01, respectively) and dry matter yield (0.60, p<0.01, and 0.56, p <0.01, respectively) in both years. Thus, the indirect selection for higher plants with higher numbers of internodes per stem may contribute to accomplishing higher yield performance per plant. Although the branch number showed the highest positive correlation (p<0.01) with internode number per stem and an intermediate positive correlation (p<0.01) with stem height, this trait had a low correlation with green mass yield and dry matter yield and cannot be used as a criterion for indirect selection. © 2022 Journal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade). AB  - Description of the subject. Red clover is an important forage legume and a rich source of high quality forage for livestock feed. This study assesses of a diverse red clover collection for agronomic value, forage quality and antioxidant activity in relation to status (cultivar vs natural population) and ploidy level (diploid or tetraploid) for the purpose of diversity study and for identification of potential heterotic groups and classification of accessions according to the results of analyses. Objectives. The aims of this research were to: i) explore agronomic traits, forage quality, and antioxidant activity in relation to status and ploidy level; ii) assess trait associations and the possibility of indirect selection; iii) cluster red clover accessions with regard to forage quality and antioxidant activity. Method. Red clover was represented by 46 accessions, the cultivars and natural populations of diploid (2n) and tetraploid (4n) ploidy levels from 17 countries, which were collected and preserved in the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Serbia. The following traits were determined from the two-year field trial at Rimski Šančevi, Serbia: plant height (PH), internodes number (IN), green mass yield (GMY), dry matter yield (DMY), crude protein (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake (DMI), relative feed value (RFV) and antioxidant activity. All accessions were characterized in the second cut of the second year of life when 20-25% of flowers appeared. Results. The cultivars had higher values for PH, IN, GMY, DMY, DDM, DMI, and RFV. The tetraploid accessions had higher values for IN, GMY, DMY, CP, NDF and DDM. The natural populations and diploid accessions had 39.9% and 21.9% smaller antioxidant capacity, respectively. The antioxidant capacity was positively associated with RFV, DDM, DMI, PH, IN, GMY and DMY, but negatively with ADF and NDF. Conclusions. The grouping of red clover accessions based on forage quality parameters and antioxidant activity was represented by five clusters. Variability of Zeleny sedimentation volume in bread wheat and durum wheat from multi-environment trial

AB  - The Zeleny sedimentation volume (ZS) is lean upon the ability of the endosperm storage proteins
to swell and flocculate in a lactic acid and propan-2-ol solution in the presence of the dye,
manifesting positive correlations with gluten strength, bread-making quality, the cooking quality
of pasta, bread-loaf volume. The aims of this study were to assess variability and components of
phenotypic variation using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) for ZS of 30 genotypes
(G) of bread wheat and durum wheat. The field trials were conducted during 2010-2011 and
2011-2012 vegetation seasons (S) at the three locations (L) in Serbia: Rimski Šančevi, Zemun
Polje, and Padinska Skela. ZS was determined by Near infrared spectrometry with the Infraneo
analyser (Chopin Technologies, France), with calibration NF ISO 5529. ZS content varied from
39.41 ml to 67.12 ml for bread wheat, and from 37.40 ml to 48.33 ml for durum wheat. The
Tukey (HSD) test showed 11 and 8 homogenic sub-groups for ZS in bread wheat and durum
wheat, respectively. The descending sources of variation by its contribution to ZS were: G > L >
G × L > L × S × G > G × S > S > L × S for bread wheat, and S > G > G × L > L > L × S × G > G
× S > L × S for durum wheat. The relation genetic component of variance/component of variance
genotype × environment interaction was 1.0 for bread wheat, and 0.48 for durum wheat.

abstract = "The Zeleny sedimentation volume (ZS) is lean upon the ability of the endosperm storage proteins
to swell and flocculate in a lactic acid and propan-2-ol solution in the presence of the dye,
manifesting positive correlations with gluten strength, bread-making quality, the cooking quality
of pasta, bread-loaf volume. The aims of this study were to assess variability and components of
phenotypic variation using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) for ZS of 30 genotypes
(G) of bread wheat and durum wheat. The field trials were conducted during 2010-2011 and
2011-2012 vegetation seasons (S) at the three locations (L) in Serbia: Rimski Šančevi, Zemun
Polje, and Padinska Skela. ZS was determined by Near infrared spectrometry with the Infraneo
analyser (Chopin Technologies, France), with calibration NF ISO 5529. ZS content varied from
39.41 ml to 67.12 ml for bread wheat, and from 37.40 ml to 48.33 ml for durum wheat. The
Tukey (HSD) test showed 11 and 8 homogenic sub-groups for ZS in bread wheat and durum
wheat, respectively. The descending sources of variation by its contribution to ZS were: G > L >
G × L > L × S × G > G × S > S > L × S for bread wheat, and S > G > G × L > L > L × S × G > G
× S > L × S for durum wheat. The relation genetic component of variance/component of variance
genotype × environment interaction was 1.0 for bread wheat, and 0.48 for durum wheat.",

AB  - Глутен је протеински комплекс брашна пшенице изграђен од резервних протеина зрна
глутенина и глијадина, који остаје након испирања теста водом у циљу уклањања
скробних гранула и састојака растворљивих у води. Пекарска индустрија прописује да
брашно поседује дефинисане особине квалитета за садржај протеина, влажног и сувог
глутена, реолошкe особинe. Однос за садржај влажног глутена и протеина од 2,7 до 3
поседује тесто са оптималним пекарским карактеристикама. Циљеви овог рада су били:
мултиваријациона анализа варијансе, одређивање компоненти фенотипске варијансе,
херитабилности у ширем смислу (h2
b), очекиване генетичке добити (GAM) za садржај
влажног глутена (WG) код 30 генотипова (G) хлебне и дурум пшенице.
Пољски огледи су вршени током 2010-2011. и 2011-2012 вегетационе сезоне (S) на три
локалитета (L): Римски Шанчеви, Земун Поље, и Падинска Скела. Садржај WG је
одређен NIR спектрометријoм на анализатору Infraneo (Chopin Technologies,
Француска) стандардном методoм калибрацијe NF EN ISO 21415-2. Варијабилност
садржаја WG је била у опсегу 22,83%-30,31% код хлебне пшенице, и 28,87%-36,33%
код дурум пшенице. Број хомогених подгрупа за WG утврђених на основу Tukey (HSD)
теста је био 9 код хлебне пшенице и 7 код дурум пшенице. Утврђена је хијерархија
значајности извора варирања за WG: S > L > G > L × S > G × S > L × S × G > G × L за
хлебну пшеницу, и S > L × S > G > G × L > L > G × S > L × S × G за дурум пшеницу.
Количник генетичке компоненте варијансе и компоненте варијансе услед интеракције
генотип × средина је износио 2,9 код хлебне пшенице, и 0,7 код дурум пшенице.
Квантитативно генетички параметри h2
b и GAM су имали веома високе, и високе
вредности 93,6% и 18,4%, код хлебне пшенице, и средње високе вредности 79,7% и
10,2% код дурум пшенице, антиципирајући успех у селекцији хлебне пшенице на
висок WG.

AB  - Протеини су важни у детерминисању нутритивне вредности пшенице, а међу њима је
најважнији глутен јер одређује пекарски квалитет хлебне пшенице и технолошке
особине тестенине дурум пшенице. Садржај протеина је важан фактор за одређивање
цене пшенице на тржишту, и обично је виша цена тврде пшенице са већим садржајем
протеина и меке пшенице са нижим садржајем протеина. Од значаја је одређивање
генетичких параметара за садржај протеина, јер указују на могућност побољшања
селекцијом. Циљеви овог истраживања су обухватали: утврђивање варијабилности
садржаја протеина (PC), одређивање компоненти фенотипске варијансе,
херитабилности у ширем смислу (h2
b), очекиване генетичке добити (GAM) код 30
генотипова хлебне и дурум пшенице. Пољски експерименти су постављени током
вегетационих сезона 2010-2011. и 2011-2012. на три локалитета: Римски Шанчеви,
Земун Поље, и Падинска Скела. Садржај PC је одређен NIR спектрометријoм на
анализатору Infraneo (Chopin Technologies, Француска) стандардном методoм
калибрацијe ISO 16634-1. Варијабилност садржаја PC је била у интервалу од 12,35% до
15,40% код хлебне пшенице, и од 14,33% до 17,07% код дурум пшенице. Број
хомогених подгрупа за PC утврђених на основу Tukey (HSD) теста је био 10 код хлебне
пшенице и 11 код дурум пшенице. Коефицијент генетичке варијације (CVg) и
коефицијент фенотипске варијације (CVp) су износили 6,28% и 6,44% код хлебне
пшенице, и 4,12% и 4,58% код дурум пшенице. Количник генетичке компоненте
варијансе и компоненте варијансе услед интеракције генотип × средина за садржај PC
је износио 3,2 код хлебне пшенице, и 0,7 код дурум пшенице. Вредност h2
b (94,9%) и
GAM (12,6%) за садржај PC је била веома висока, и средња, код хлебне пшенице, са

AB  - Оплемењивање биљака има опште и специфичне изазове у
креирању пожељних генотипова у различитим екоклиматским
условима у циљу решавања бројних ограничења: генетички
потенцијал, продуктивност, климатске промене, природни ресурси,
раст људске популације и задовољење потреба за исхраном, очување
животне средине од загађењаи др. Постојеће климатске промене у
регионима широм света (суша, високе температуре, топлота)
нарушавају стабилност екосистема и представљају значајан
ограничавајући фактор за остваривање високих приноса усева у
пољопривредној производњи, за обезбеђење довољне количине
хране за људску популацију и економску стабилност. Климатске
промене које неповољно утичу на продуктивност биљака у
пољопривредној производњи су повезане са постојањем глади
милиона људи у свету. Оплемењивањем биљака су створени
генотипови са високим потенцијалом за принос, квалитет и
отпорношћу на биотичке и абиотичке факторе стреса. Адаптације на
климатске промене доприносе смањењу негативног ефекта

AB  - U poslednjih dvadeset godina u Institutu PKB Agroekonomik pored oplemenjivanja pšenice,
vrlo intezivno se radi i na oplemenjivanju drugih pravih ili hlebnih žita. Visokoprinosna, kasna
sorta ozime raži PKB Zmaj dobijena je po pedigre metodi prostim ukrštanjem genetički različitih
roditelja iz kolekcije Instituta PKB Agroekonomik: sorte Rtanj i linije PKB-R-105. Kod ove sorte ozime raži kombinovani su geni odgovorni za vrlo visok potencijal rodnosti, otpornost prema
poleganju, niskim temperaturama i važnijim bolestima. Sorta ozime raži PKB Zmaj registrovana
je od strane Ministarstva poljoprivrede, šumarstva i vodoprivrede Republike Srbije 2018. godine. Sorta PKB Zmaj ima visok genetski potencijal za rodnost i visoku adaptaciju na različite
klimatsko-zemljišne uslove, pri optimalnoj agrotehnici.

AB  - Wheat is an important cereal species which use for production of food products, alcoholic
beverages, pharmaceutical products, biofuels. Wheat seed is one of the most important source
of protein as well as carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and mineral elements in food for human and
nutrition. The evolutionary development of wheat is characterized by changes in
morphological and anatomical characteristics, changes in the genome that are associated with
adaptability to different environmental conditions and changes in biological and economic
yield and quality traits. During the period from 10 thousand years ago until today, man,
through his breeding work, and creating new genotypes, has influenced the changes in plant
architecture, yield, quality and adaptability to biotic and abiotic conditions. The grain yields
significantly increased in the 1960s and 1970s because farmers rapidly adopted the new
varieties and cultivation methods of the so-called “green revolution”. Breeders have created
and can create in the future new wheat genotypes with improved efficiency in the use of N,
which will contribute to achieving higher and stable yields, better grain quality and
environmental protection. Today, breeders have choice of two direction. In addition to this
approach, today breeders create varieties with low content of storage proteins (gluten), with
higher efficiency of nitrogen uptake, adapted to lower doses of nitrogen nutrition and higher
efficiency of nitrogen uptake in order to reduce unused nitrogen and environmental
protection. Modern biotechnological methods can contribute to the preservation and increase
of genetic variability, more efficient breeding of varieties that are economical in production,
with the desired technological and nutritional quality for the production of healthy food.

Analiza prinosa zrna i kvaliteta brašna nekih sorata ozime pšenice u proizvodnoj 2020. godini

AB  - Pšenica, je tijekom cijele ljudske civilizacije bila bazni i vitalni sastojak
svakodnevne ishrane ljudi i domaćih životinja. U Republici Srbiji posljednjih
nekoliko godina izražena je traženost sorti pšenice, koje pored visokog i
stabilnog prinosa imaju i dobre parametre kvalitete brašna. U provedenim
istraživanjima u 2019/2020. godini sorta s najstabilnijim prinosom i dobrom
kvalitetom zrna pokazala se sorta Nogal. Ova sorta ima visok sadržaj kvalitetnih
proteina, a analogno tome je i visok sadržaj glutena, ali i kvalitetu, što su
potvrdila reološka mjerenja. Ostvareni visoki prinosi zrna ispitivanih sorata
pšenice jesu rezultat interakcije genetičkog potencijala ispitivanih sorata
pšenice i primjene dobre agrotehnike u uvjetima kada raspored padalina u
tijeku vegetacijske sezone, od momenta sjetve, pa do žetve nije pogodovao
proizvodnji pšenice. Istraživanja su pokazala da se sorte Talas, Pobeda i Nogal
mogu svrstati u kvalitetnu grupu A2, odnosno to su sorte dobre kvalitete brašna
i hljeba i kao takve spadaju u grupu poboljšivača. Sorte Merkur, Imperija,
Ratarica i Vizantija svrstane su u kvalitetnu grupu B1 tj. one su dobre hljebne
sorte. Sorta NS 40 S svrstana je u kvalitetnu grupu B2.
