AB - The focus of our research was to evaluate different apples cultivars in terms of their biological properties and bioactive compounds content, and determine the levels of their resistance (or susceptibility) to fire blight. The properties of 10 scab-resistant apple cultivars were examined on the Zica monastery estate (West Serbia) during the period from 2011 to 2015. The biological and chemical properties such as firmness, maturity stage, total soluble solids, total acids, total and reducing sugars, ascorbic acid content and surface blush of apple fruits were monitored. Various phenolic compounds in the tested samples were tentatively identified by LC-MS analyses. A study of generative properties included: number of flowerbuds, fruit mass and width, crop load, yield efficiency and yield. During the period of blooming and intensive shoot growth, artificial inoculations were carried out. For each cultivar, a fire blight score was determined by dividing the average length of necrotic tissue by the average total shoot length. In the study period, the cultivars 'CroldRush' (41.1 t ha(-1)) and 'Florina' (35.9 t ha(-1)) produced the highest yields, and the cultivars 'Discovery' (19.0 t ha(-1)) and Selection 25/63 (15.1 t ha(-1)) the lowest. The cultivar 'William's Pride' produced the largest fruits, with an average fruit mass of 206.8 g. The earliest harvest period was recorded for the cultivar 'Discovery' (end of July), and the latest for the cultivar 'CroldRush' (beginning of October). The cultivar 'Enterprise' had the highest value of total phenols (432.2 mg 100 g(-1) FW), while the cultivar 'Topaz' had the highest value of total flavanols (145.2 mg 100 g(-1) FW). The highest degree of susceptibility to fire blight was found in Selection 25/63, and the greatest resistance was manifested by the cultivar 'CroldRush'. In the five-year study period, the cultivars 'GoldRush', 'Rewena' and 'Enterprise' exhibited better bio-chemical properties and higher levels of resistance to fire blight than the remaining cultivars.

AB - The main goal of breeding and testing of rootstocks for sweet cherry is to obtain small and
productive trees and to improve precocity. The objective of this study was to examine the influence
of six rootstocks on vigor and productive characteristics of young sweet cherry trees. The
experimental orchard is situated at the Experimental farm “Radmilovac”, of the Faculty of
Agriculture (near Belgrade). Three sweet cherry cultivars: ‘Kordia’, ‘Karmen’ and ‘Regina’ were
grafted on six rootstocks: Prunus mahaleb L. seedlings, ‘Colt’, ‘Ma×Ma 14’, ‘Gisela 6’, ‘Gisela 5’ and
‘Oblačinska’ sour cherry. During a two-year period (2015-2016) the following characteristics were
studied: scion diameter above the grafting union, rootstock diameter under the grafting union,
length and diameter of shoots, height of the tree and the number of spurs per tree. The results
showed different influence of rootstocks on the tree vigor, spur formation and precocity. The
average diameter of the scion in all tested cultivars was the largest on the Mahaleb rootstock. The
largest average number of spurs per tree in the second year was recorded on cherry trees grafted on
the rootstocks ‘Gisela 6’ and ‘Oblačinska’ sour cherry (28 and 23 respectively). The lowest average
number of spurs (6) was found on trees grafted on the rootstock ‘Colt’.

AB - The objective of this study was to determine the fruit characteristics of peach and nectarine cultivars in a new training system (Sloping Leader). High-density orchard (2,800 trees ha(-1)) was established by planting vineyard peach seedlings at a 3.5 x 1 m spacing. Grafting was performed at a height of 50 cm. The central leader was bent at the angle of 65 degrees. The standard experimental plot was planted with nursery trees and two training systems: Fusetto (4x2 m) and Open Vase (4x4 m) were applied. The influence of three different training systems on fruit characteristics of three peach cultivars:. Early O'Henry',. Sunprince', and. Autumn Glo', and two nectarine cultivars:. Stark Redgold' and 'Max 7' was studied during the three-year period (20092011). A small tree spacing reduced fruit size of peach cultivars 'Early O'Henry' and 'Sunprince' and nectarine cultivar 'Max 7'. Unlike, in 'Autumn Glo' and. Stark Redgold' differences in fruit size between training systems were not significant.

AB - BACKGROUND: Changes of environmental factors, created under the influence of various shading nets, could significantly affect the biological characteristics of plants grown in such conditions as well as biosynthesis of primary metabolites and ascorbic acid. Five blackcurrant cultivars - 'Ben Sarek', 'Ben Nevis', 'Ben Lomond', 'Ometa' and 'aanska Crna' - were cultivated in the shade of two green polyethylene nets and exposed to direct sunlight during two experimental seasons. RESULTSIn the control treatment, all cultivars contained the highest amounts of soluble solid content and number of flower buds per shoot in both years of cultivation. The bushes exposed to direct sunlight had the highest sunburn damage to the berries and leaves, and loss of yield. The greatest yield loss caused by berry damage in the present study during the experimental period was in cultivar 'Ben Sarek': 9.0% in 2010 and 15.4% in 2011. Growing in the shade of light-green net contributed the highest content of ascorbic acid. Control bushes and those shaded by light-green net had significantly higher radical scavenging activity, with values between 1.15 and 1.22 mg mL(-1). CONCLUSIONPlants shaded by nets in both years of cultivation had lower damage to leaves and berries and percentage of loss of yield, and usage of the net would be economically advantageous to growers. Fruit of blackcurrant cultivars grown in shading conditions still represent a good source of valuable nutritive and biologically active compounds.

AB - One unusual aspect of resistance to sharka (Plum Pox Virus, PPV) has been discovered and studied in plum trees in the six consecutive years. The absence of sharka symptoms in some of primary branches of infected plum trees characterized as resistance. Symptoms appearance was observed and PPV presence was checked serologically by DAS- ELISA test as well as by grafting transmission. That aspect of resistance mainly appears in a portion of the tree crown, i.e. on some primary branches of young plum trees and it is diminishing in following years. That distinct resistance to sharka (PPV) was found in trees of Čačanska rodna, Stanley and Crvena ranka cvs. In selected plum trees in the parts with such resistance no sharka symptoms appeared nor PPV was proved. The absence of sharka symptoms as well as PPV in a portion of a plum tree otherwise diseased by sharka is considered as a sign of resistance. For such aspect of resistance the name “Sectorial Resistance” is proposed. It is continues more and detail research on sectorial resistance of plum to PPV are in progress.

AB - The European pear psylla, Cacopsylla pyri L. (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), is one of the most serious arthropod pests of pear. Since proper control of this pest is essential, better understanding of the complex plant pest relationship is mandatory. This research deals with constitutive polyphenolic profiles in leaves of 22 pear cultivars of diverse origin (P. communis, P. pyrifolia, and P. pyrifolia X P. communis) and different resistance to psylla. The study was designed to show which differences in the polyphenolic profile of leaves from resistant and susceptible pear cultivars could be utilized as information in subsequent breeding programs. The results demonstrated that the leaves of Oriental pear cultivars contained much higher amounts of phydroxybenzoic acid, ferulic acid, aesculin, and naringin, that, together with detected 3-0-(6"-O-p-coumaroy1)-hexoside, apigenin, apigenin 7-O-rutinoside, and hispidulin, indicated a clear difference between the species and might represent phenolics responsible for psylla resistance.

AB - Creating genotypes that will be characterized by high yields, good quality and other favorable agronomic characters is a major objective of most currant breeding programs worldwide. For easier and faster achievement of these goals and identification of superior genotypes suitable for use as parents in future hybridization programs, study of genetic parameters seems to be obligatory. In this regard, the aims of our study were to estimate components of variability and heritability, and do correlation analysis for yield components in order to determine efficient strategies for improving yield in black currant breeding programs. Significant differences between cultivars were established for all studied traits. A high proportion of genotypic variance was found with bush width, no. of shoots per bush, bunch weight and berry weight indicating that genetic improvement for these traits through breeding was achievable. Opposite, seasonal variance was high for bush height, no. of bunch per bush and yield. The high heritability coefficients (0.80-0.94) detected for all traits studied reflect the close agreement between their phenotypic and genotypic values. Also, most pairs of traits were similarly correlated at both phenotypic and genotypic levels. So, yield was significantly and positively correlated with bush height, no of bunch per bush and bunch weight. These results imply a rapid response of black currants to selection.

AB - The effects of 5 crop load levels (all fruit removed and 10, 20, 30, and 40 fruit per tree) in the second growing year on vegetative growth, productivity, and fruit quality were studied in apple cultivars Gala and Braeburn on M9 rootstock in the second and the third leaf. An increase in vegetative growth was observed on the defruited trees in the second growing year. The highest crop load of 40 fruits per tree reduced average fruit weight by 18.7% in Gala compared to those obtained on the trees carrying the lowest crop load (10 fruits per tree). The reduction in average fruit weight was compensated by the increase in yields. Yield per tree in the treatment with the highest crop load was 2.4-fold higher in Gala and 2.7-fold higher in Braeburn than the treatment with the lowest crop load. Yield efficiency (kg cm(-2) trunk cross-section area) in both tested cultivars ranked the highest on the trees carrying the heaviest crop. The highest crop load in the second growing year did not have negative consequences on the yield and fruit quality obtained in the third growing year.

AB - The influence of three different planting densities on yield of three peach cultivars: ‛Early O’
Henry’, ‛Sunprince’, and ‛Autumn Glo’, and two nectarine cultivars: ‘Vinčanka’ (clone of
‛Stark Redgold’) and ‛Max 7’ was studied during three-year period (2009-2011). In high
density planting, seedlings of vineyard peach were planted at the space of 3.5 x 1 m (2,800
trees ha-1) and grafted at the height of 50 cm. The trees were trained as a new original training
system named ‘Sloping Leader’ that is characterized with a central leader that is bent and
follows row direction at an angle of 25° to the trunk. In standard experimental plot, one-year
old peach trees were planted and trained as ‘Fusetto’ form (4 x 2 m; 1,250 trees ha-1) and
Open Vase (4 x 4 m, 625 trees ha-1). The following characteristics were studied: yield per tree
and unit area (ha), as well as yield efficiency based on trunk cross-sectional area and on
crown projection area. In the first three years of cropping significantly higher yields were
achieved in the high-density planting system. Yield efficiency expressed based on the crown
projection area, was also significantly higher in the high-density planting system.

Yield efficiency expressed based on the crown
projection area, was also significantly higher in the high-density planting system.",

AB - Descriptive and multivariate statistic analysis was used to determine phenotypical diversity among 29 European currant cultivars. Variation in 39 traits related to phenology, vegetative and reproductive potential, fruit quality, content of antioxidants in berries, and oils in seeds indicated a high diversity of currant cultivars. PCA analysis showed high discrimination capabilities of variables measured. The most important traits for cultivars grouping were related to yield efficiency, fruit quality, and content of bioactive compounds. These traits should be taken into account in the further currant cultivars characterization and analysis of breeding material. Both, cluster (CA) and principal component analysis (PCA), showed an adequate grouping of cultivars in two groups of cultivars, one consisting of black and the second group comprising the red and white currant cultivars. By PCA, within each of these two major groups dispersed layout of cultivars was obtained, while using CA a larger number of sub-clusters was separated indicating phenotypic and thus genotypic heterogeneity of studied cultivars. Great diversity in this currant collection showed its good potential for fresh and processing usage, and further breeding programs.

Vinčanka (klon sorte Stark Redgold kasnijeg vremena zrenja), Orion, Morsiani 51 i Vega.
bujnosti, prinos, masa i organoleptičke osobine ploda u trogodišnjem periodu. U trećoj godini
rodnosti sorte Venus, Vinčanka i Orion su postigle visoke prinose. Manji razmak sadnje je
ispoljio negativan uticaj na masu ploda sorti Vega i Max 7, dok su plodovi ostalih sorata bili
u kategoriji krupnih plodova. Sistem guste sadnje nije ispoljio negativan efekat na
organoleptičke osobine plodova ispitivanih sorata.
AB - The influence of high density planting on the properties of five nectarine
cultivars: Venus, Vinčanka (clone of Stark Redgold with later ripening), Orion,
Morsiani 51, and Vega, was studied. In high density planting, seedlings of vineyard
peach were planted at 3.5 x 1m (2800 trees ha-1) and grafted at the height of 50 cm
above ground level. The trees were trained as the Sloping Leader. That is new
training system characterized by central leader bended at an angle of 25° with respect
to an imaginary vertical axis. The following characteristics were studied: tree vigour,
yield, fruit weight, and sensory properties for three consecutive years. A small row
spacing had negative influence on yield and fruit weight of nectarine cultivars
Morsiani 51 and Vega. High-density planting system did not show negative effects
on fruit sensory characteristics.
Based on obtained results, studied cultivars can be divided into two groups.
The first group consists of cultivars Venus, Orion, and Vinčanka that are suitable for
this system of high density planting. The second group consists of cultivars Vega and
Morsiani 51, that are less suitable for this system. Further long-term study is required
to obtain more reliable conclusions.

AB - Seedlings (progenies) of eight selected vineyard peach genotypes obtained by self and open pollination were examined in this study during three consecutive years. Two progenies from unselected vineyard peach genotypes with different geographic origin were used as a standard. Peach cv. Autumn Glo and nectarine cv. Stark Red Gold were grafted on F1 generation of eight vineyard peach selections and two standard progenies. Analysis of variance indicated statistically significant differences in vigour and fruit productivity between fruit trees grafted on different progenies of vineyard peach selections. A high correlation was found between rootstock vigour and fruit production of grafted cultivars. In addition, the principal component analysis made it possible to establish similar groups of rootstocks, depending on its influence to vigour, productivity and indexes of efficiency of grafted peach and nectarine cultivar. The most promising rootstocks for those two cultivars were PSK and 7S because grafted AG and SRG have high fruit weight, initial yields and very satisfactory rootstock, scion and canopy efficiency.

AB - Graft transmissibility of the plum sectorial resistance to Plum pox virus (PPV) was investigated. Sectorial resistance is the resistance which is manifested in a sector or portion of infected plant, where virus is not present. Sectorial resistance to PPV is exhibited in the crown or in primary shoots of the plum tree. Double budding method was applied. One bud was carrying sectorial resistance to PPV, while the other one was infected with the virus. Infection on shoots was evaluated by symptoms appearance and serological test for PPV presence.Among three plum cultivars the best results were obtained with cv. "Crvena ranka". Sectorial resistance to PPV has been successfully transmitted by buds of "Crvena ranka". Plum cv. "Č ačanska rodna" failed to transmit sectorial resistance. Plum cv. "Stanley" was between those two above-mentioned plum cultivars.

AB - Thirteen black currant varieties (Ribes nigrum L.) cultured in Serbia were characterized for their pomological properties and chemical composition (total phenolics, total anthocyanins, anthocyanin aglycones, sugars, and vitamin C). The average amount of vitamin C varied from 122.4 to 193.2 mg/100 g fresh weight (FW), while concentration of invert sugars ranged from 6.3% to 11.1%. The highest amounts of total phenolics and anthocyanins were detected in variety Ometa (278.9 mg of gallic acid equivalents per 100 g of FW [mg GAE/100 g FW] and 135.4 mg/100 g, respectively). Quantitative analyses of anthocyanin aglycones in berries were performed using high-performance liquid chromatography, and delphinidin was found to be dominant compound in 11 varieties. Total phenolics and anthocyanins contents decreased during the processing of berry fruits to juices, and the reduction of anthocyanins was more pronounced, 12%-80%. The radical scavenging activity of black currant juices was investigated by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, and the IC50 value ranged from 1.9 to 4.0 mg/mL. Our results also showed that freezing as a way of preservation and storage could save important phytochemicals and health benefits of berries and berry juices. The amount of total phenolics in berries increased during 1 year of storage by 46.09%-171.76% and in juices by even 107.58%, while the amount of total anthocyanins in berries and juices decrease by 5.63%-52.76% and 13.04%-36.82%, respectively.

The amount of total phenolics in berries increased during 1 year of storage by 46.09%-171.76% and in juices by even 107.58%, while the amount of total anthocyanins in berries and juices decrease by 5.63%-52.76% and 13.04%-36.82%, respectively.",

AB - This study examines influence of slope planting apple trees and bending central leader, on generative potential and productivity properties of three cultivars ‘Scarlet Spur’, ‘Galaxy’ and ‘Tentation’, on conditions of Obrenovacka Posavina area (2010-2011). Apple trees of same cultivars in standard slender spindle form are used as control. The study include number of flower buds per three, number of flowers per three, number of fruits per tree, percentage of fruit set, fruit weight and yield per tree and per hectare. The treatment and control trees did not show statistically significant differences in the generative potential, but all the cultivars achieved best performances in the treatment of slope planting trees with the bent central leader. This result was achieved by increasing tree density per unit area, but due to the modification of the training system. Absolutely the highest average fruit yield in this treatment was recorded in cultivar ‘Tentation’ (81.7 t ha-1).

AB - The paper presents the elements of productivity of sweet cherry cultivars grown in the region of Sabac in the period of four years (2008-2011). We examined 16 relatively new cultivars: ‘Chelan’, ‘Cristalina’, ‘Early Lory’, ‘Early Star’, ‘Glacier’, ‘Kordia’, ‘Noir de Meched’, ‘Penny’, ‘Regina’, ‘Skeena’, ‘Summer Sun’, ‘Summit’, ‘Sunburst’, ‘Sylvia’, ‘Tehranivee’, and ‘Vandalay’. The control cultivar for comparison was ‘Van’. All cultivars are grafted on the Gisela 5 rootstock. Training system is Slender Spindle, and tree spacing is 4 x 1.5 m. Studies have included: number of flowers in an inflorescence, fruit set, fruit weight, yield per tree, and cumulative yield efficiency. The average number of flowers per inflorescence varied from 2.08 in cultivar ‘Skeena’ to 3.17 in cultivar ‘Cristalina’. Fruit set ranged from 23.1% (‘Summit’) to 62.8% (‘Glacier’). Four cultivars had significantly higher fruit set than the control (‘Van’) and they are: ‘Glacier’, ‘Vandalay’, ‘Summer Sun’, and ‘Regina’. Fruit weight was lowest in cultivar ‘Vandalay’ (5.8 g), and highest in cultivar ‘Penny’ (10.2 g). Significantly higher fruit weight than the control had eight cultivars (‘Penny’, ‘Summit’, ‘Cristalina’, ‘Noir de Meched’, ‘Sunburst’, ‘Kordia’, ‘Skeena’, and ‘Sylvia’), while significantly lower fruit weight was found only in one cultivar (‘Vandalay’). The average yield per tree was lowest in cultivar ‘Skeena’ (2.68 kg), and highest in ‘Regina’ (7.38 kg). Significantly higher yield than control cultivar had only ‘Regina’, while lower yield had five cultivars (‘Skeena’, ‘Noir de Meched’, ‘Tehranivee’, ‘Sylvia’, and ‘Summit’). Cumulative yield efficiency varied from 0.23 to 0.66 kg cm-2 of trunk cross-sectional area. This parameter was at the level of control in three cultivars (‘Sunburst’, ‘Glacier’, and ‘Regina’), while in other cultivars it was significantly lower.

AB - The influence of three different planting densities on the quality characteristics of peach cultivars ‘Autumn Glo’, ‘Early O’Henry’ and ‘Sunprince’, and nectarine cultivars ‘Stark Redgold’ and ‘Max 7’ were studied. In high density planting, seedlings of vineyard peach were planted at 3.5 x 1 m (2,800 trees ha-1) and grafted a fixed place on 50 cm height. The trees were trained as a Sloping Leader. In standard experimental plot, one- year old peach trees were planted. Applied training systems were Fusseto (4 x 2 m - 1,250 trees ha-1) and Open Vase (4 x 4 m - 625 trees ha-1). The following characteristics were studied: physical, organoleptic and chemical properties for three consecutive years. A small row spacing displayed negative influence on peach fruit weight of ‘Early O’Henry’ and ‘Sunprince’ and nectarine ‘Max 7’, while fruits of the cultivars ‘Autumn Glo’ and ‘Stark Redgold’ had identical fruit weight in all row spacing. High-density planting system did not demonstrate negative effects on fruit organoleptic and chemical properties. Obtained results on the influence of high density on fruit weight and attractiveness were pointed out importance of cultivar characteristics. Based on this fact cultivars can be divided into two groups: one are suitable and other that can’t be recommendable for high density plantings. In order to select suitable cultivars for this system, it is necessary to evaluate more cultivars in the same experimental field of high density planting.

AB - Currant seeds, a by-product of juice production, are recognized as a valuable source of oil rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. We have evaluated 28 currant varieties for their oil content and fatty-acid composition. The oil content in the seeds ranged from 18.227.7%, and no statistical difference between varieties of different fruit color were recorded. Furthermore, the estimated oil yields in the field production ranged from 26.4212.4 kg/ha. The GC and GC/MS chemical profiles of the seed oils extracted from all examined varieties were common for currants. Linoleic acid (LA) was the major component, with contents ranging from 32.746.9% of total fatty acids, followed by a-linolenic acid (ALA; 2.932.0 %), oleic acid (OA; 9.819.9%), ?-linolenic acid (GLA; 3.318.5%), palmitic acid (PA; 4.48.1%), stearidonic acid (SDA; 2.24.7%), and stearic acid (SA; 1.22.4%). Quantitative differences in the fatty-acid profiles between varieties of different fruit color were observed. Blackcurrant varieties showed significantly higher contents of LA, GLA, and PA than red and white currant varieties, whereas significantly higher amounts of ALA and OL were detected in the red and white varieties. Cluster analysis based on the chemical oil profiles joined the blackcurrants in one group, while most of the red and white cultivars joined in a second group at the same linkage distance.

abstract = "Currant seeds, a by-product of juice production, are recognized as a valuable source of oil rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. We have evaluated 28 currant varieties for their oil content and fatty-acid composition. AB - Pomological properties of 11 newly sweet cherry cultivars grafted on Colt rootstock were studied in the region of Macva over a three-year period (2010- 2012). An investigation has included phenological traits (flowering and maturing), the elements of productivity (number of flowers in an inflorescence, fruit set and yield), the most important fruit characteristics (physical, chemical and sensory), and fruit cracking index. Average time of flowering of tested cultivars was in the first and the second decade of April, while the maturing time was between 15 May ('Early Lory') and 20 June ('Penny'). The highest yield was achieved by cultivars 'Giorgia', 'Sunburst', and 'Crystalina'. Large fruit size was found in cultivars 'Penny', 'Santina', 'Sunburst', 'Olympus', and 'Kordia'. The lowest susceptibility to fruit cracking was manifested in cultivars 'Early Lory' and 'Giorgia'. Cultivars 'Kordia' and 'Cristalina' were given the highest sensory ratings. Overall, the best results were shown by medium-early season cultivar 'Santina', which can be recommended for commercial cultivation. In addition, the early-season cultivar 'Early Lory', and the late-season cultivar 'Kordia' can also be recommended for cultivation.

AB - Predicting the yield of red currant a few months before full maturity is an important factor of successful harvest planning and organizing, as well as the fruit marketing. In order to generate an adequate data base and estimation method, basic parameters of red currant generative potential (yield, number of clusters per bush and number of berries per cluster) have been evidenced during two years for eleven cultivars of red currant, including the standard cultivar 'Redpoll'. As it was expected, the analysis of experimental results verified the existence of relationship between yield and other two relevant parameters. Using this connection, the topographic map is generated by two-dimensional interpolation of experimental data by inverse-distance method. This map enabled yield estimation of red currant on the basis of number of clusters per bush and number of berries per cluster.

AB - This paper presents the results of research conducted on five cultivars of white currant ('Primus', 'White Champagne', 'Witte aus Juteborg', 'Witte Parel' and 'Viktoria'), in the 2007-2009. In addition to biological and production characteristics, indicators of dietary-therapeutic values of the observed cultivars fruits were examined too. The results showed that 'Primus' and 'Victoria' cultivars have significantly higher production value than other cultivars, which recommends them for further expansion in similar agro-ecological conditions. After one year of storage at temperature of -18 degrees C, content of total phenolics in the fruits was examined, while the antiradical activity was tested in the corresponding juices. Cultivar 'Primus' significantly differs in both its total phenolic content and antiradical activity.

AB - In this paper, we investigated dynamic of flowering and the flower sensitivity of 9 black and 6 red currant cultivars to spring frosts. The aim of this study was to separate the most resistant cultivars of spring frosts on that region. The experiment was set up in the orchard of berries, in the farm nursery Omega, Mislodjin near Belgrade, during 2006. In our study both currant cultivars started flowering in the last 10 days of March (average for the period 2007-2009). Time between first flower and first berries varied from 16 to 21 day. The earliest flowering began with the red currants - 'Junifer' and 'Stanca' and black currant 'Bona'. Black currant cultivars did not show correlation between level of frost damage and the beginning of the cultivar flowering. However, among red currant cultivars this correlation is strong. The highest level of freezing was among early-flowering cultivars, and the lowest among late-flowering cultivars.

abstract = "In this paper, we investigated dynamic of flowering and the flower sensitivity of 9 black and 6 red currant cultivars to spring frosts. The highest level of freezing was among early-flowering cultivars, and the lowest among late-flowering cultivars.",
