dc.description.abstractThe chemical structures of three new crystalline compounds, isolated from the aerial parts of Salvia nemorosa L. (family Lamiaceac) are described. Water-ethanol extract, upon chromatography afforded flavones, such as: salvigenin (1, 5-hydroxy-6,7,4'-trimethoxy-flavone), 6-methyllutcolin (2, 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-6-methyl-flavone) and cinaroside (3, lutcolin-7-O-glucoside), isolated for the first time from these plant species. The structure of flavone 2 has not been described so far in the literature, and presented a new type of very rare flavone, having the methyl group directly attached to the aromatic ring*. The antioxidant activity of the ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts in lard are determined.en
