Beekeeping as the main activity of rural households in the Republic of Srpska

Abstract

In the Republic of Srpska there are 5,000-6,000 beekeepers with 50,000-70,000 beehives of various types and average production of about 15-20 kg of honey per beehive. Future development of beekeeping in the Republic of Srpska is influenced by a great number of factors, the most important of which are market and setting of prices of bee products, marketing, consumer attitudes distribution of end products and credit policy towards beekeeping.

U Republici Srpskoj ima 5000-6000 pčelara, sa 50000-70000 košnica različitog tipa, sa prosječnom proizvodnjom po jednoj košnici od 15-20 kg meda. Na budući razvoj pčelarstva Republike Srpske uticaj ima mnoštvo faktora, od kojih su najvažniji: tržište i određivanje cijena pčelinjih proizvoda, marketing stav kupca, distribucija gotovih pčelinjih proizvoda i kreditna politika prema pčelarstvu.
