Occurrence of small grains pests in 2000/2001 growing season

Abstract

In comparison with the long-term average, the occurrence of leaf aphids (Aphididae) on small grains in the 2000/2001 growing season was intensive on the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia. The attack was particularly intensive in Central Serbia, where control had to be performed at more than 25,000 ha (about 6% of the total area). Intensive occurrence of leaf aphids was favored by dry and warm spells in the fall and spring as well as by the mild winter. Conversely to leaf aphids, the numbers of harmful rodents and especially of wheat chafers (Anisoplia spp.) were considerably reduced. The occurrence of the other pests (cereal leaf beetle - Lema melanopus, cereal ground beetle - Zabrus tenebrioides, senn pests - Eurygaster spp., wheat flies - Opomyza florum and Phorbia securis), was at the level of the long-term average. .

U odnosu na višegodišnji prosek, na strnim žitima u sezoni 2000/01. g. došlo je do znatno jače pojave lisnih vašiju na celom području Republike Srbije. Naročito jak napad zabeležen je u centralnom delu, gde je suzbijanje obavljeno na preko 25.000 ha (oko 6% površina). Jakoj pojavi ovih vrsta pogodovali su suvo i toplo vreme u jesen i proleće, kao i blaga zima. Nasuprot lisnim vašima, brojnost štetnih glodara, a naročito žitnih pivaca, znatno je smanjena. Ostale vrste (žitna pijavica, žitni bauljar, žitne stenice, žitne muve) javile su se u obimu višegodišnjeg proseka. .
