Response of Ambrosia trifida L. to glyphosate and dicamba

Abstract

Responses of Ambrosia trifida L. to glyphosate and dicamba were studied in controlled environment. Both herbicides were applied at five different rates (glyphosate: 180, 360, 720, 3080 i 4440 g a.m. ha-1; dicamba: 60, 120, 240, 360 i 480 g a.m. ha-1) when plants developed two pairs of leaves and control plants were not treated. Plant responses to growing rates of glyphosate and dicamba were measured and analyzed using the following next parameters: height, fresh and dry weight of plants. Responses of A. trifida to glyphosate and dicamba were different depend on the herbicide rate and studied parameters. Both herbicides were highly statistically significantly (P lt 0.01**) reduced all measured parameters, except that the degree of reduction was greater in the case of application of dicamba. The results obtained confirm the sensitivity of A. trifida on dicamba and suggest the possibility of its use for control. However, for the control of plant A. trifida is necessary to apply high rates of glyphosate.

Reakcije invazivne korovske vrste Ambrosia trifida L. na glifosat i dikambu ispitivane su na otvorenom u saksijama. Oba herbicida su primenjena u 5 različitih količina i to glifosat u količinama koje odgovaraju 180, 360, 720, 3080 i 4440 g a.m. ha-1, a dikamba u količinama koje odgovaraju 60, 120, 240, 360 i 480 g a.m. ha-1. Primena herbicida je obavljena kada su biljke imale dva para razvijenih listova, a kontrolne biljke nisu tretirane. Za procenu reakcija biljaka na primenjene količine glifosata i dikambe mereni su i analizirani sledeći parametri: vizuelna ocena, visina biljaka, sveža i suva masa biljaka. Reakcije A. trifida na herbicide glifosat i dikambu su bile različite u zavisnosti od količine primene i ispitivanog parametra. Oba herbicida su statistički veoma značajno (P lt 0,01) redukovala sve merene parametre, s tim što je stepen redukcije bio veći kod dikambe. Dobijeni rezultati potvrđuju osetljivost A. trifida na dikambu i ukazuju na mogućnost njenog korišćenja za suzbijanje, dok je za potpuno uništavanje biljaka potrebno primeniti veće količine glifosata od primenjenih u ovom istraživanju.
