Abstract
This paper considers the most important aspects of the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical findings, treatment and control of Mycoplasmal mastitis in cows. Mycoplasmal mastitis in cows is characterized by sadden onset of severe swelling of the udder, involvement of all four quarters usually, a sharp drop in milk production and gross abnormality of the milk. Seven species of Mycoplasma as M. bovis, M. canadensis, M. bovigenitalium, M. alcalescens, M. capricolum, M. californicum and M. dispar have been isolated from clinical cases of mastitis. Cows of all ages and at any stage of lactation affected, cows that have recently calved showing the most severe signs, and dry cows the least. The disease occurs most commonly in large herds and in herds where milking hygiene is poor and when cows are brought in from other farms. Mycoplasmal mastitis spreads rapidly in a herd and affected cows should be culled immediately or placed in strict isolation until sale. .
Oboljevaju krave u bilo kojoj starosti i fazi lakatacije, s tim da skoro oteljene pokazuju najizraženije, a zasušene krave najmanje izražene simptome.
