Pomological properties of mid late peach cultivars

Abstract

Properties of nine introduced peach cultivars in comparison with the standard cultivars (Redhaven) were studied at the Experimental estate "Radmilovac" of the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade during the period of 1996-2003. The aim of these studies was to select the best cultivars for commercial growing. The ripening time of investigated cultivars varied from three days before to 11 days after the ripening time of Redhaven. Cropping of all cultivars was less then standard. Cultivars Flavorcrest, Redtop and Glohaven were the best evaluated for organoleptic fruit properties. The best overall characteristics were shown by cvs Glohaven and Redtop, as well as, the standard cv Redhaven.

U periodu od 1996. do 2003. godine, na Oglednom dobru "Radmilovac" Poljoprivrednog fakulteta iz Beograda proučavane su osobine devet introdukovanih sorti breskve u poređenju sa standardom sortom Redhaven. Ispitivane sorte sazrevale su u rasponu od tri dana pre do 11 dana posle Redhavena i imale su manju rodnost od standarda. Većina sorti imala je veću masu ploda u odnosu na standard, dok su bolje organoleptičke ocene dobile sorte Flavorcrest, Redtop i Glohaven. Pored sorte Redhaven, za gajenje u proizvodnim zasadima mogu se preporučiti i sorte Glohaven i Redtop.
