Populaciona varijabilnost invazivne korovske vrste Abutilon theophrasti Medic.

AB - In this work we have analyzed the effects of Ti doping on structural and electrical properties of alpha-Fe2O3. When the amount of added Ti (5 wt.% TiO2) was within the solubility degree and XRD, SEM and EDS analysis revealed a homogenous hematite structure, with lattice parameters a= 5.03719(3), c= 13.7484(1) slightly increased due to incorporation of Ti into the rhombohedral hematite lattice. Higher amounts of Ti (10 wt.% TiO2) resulted in the formation of pseudobrookite, besides hematite, confirmed by SEM and EDS analysis. Studies of electric properties in the temperature range 25-225oC at different frequencies (100-1Mz) showed that Ti doping improved electrical conductivity. Impedance analysis was performed using an equivalent circuit, showing one relaxation process and suggesting dominant grain boundary contribution.

AB - The effects of Zn-doping on the dielectric behavior and electrical properties of bulk alpha-Fe2O3 have been studied. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the presence of two phases in all samples: hematite and spinel ZnFe2O4, with the amount of spinel phase increasing with increasing Zn content. Scanning electron microscopy analysis combined with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy showed that the Zn-bearing phase occurred in the form of individual spinel ZnFe2O4 grains in a hematite matrix. DC conductivity was measured in the temperature range 25-225 degrees C (298-498 K). Impedance spectroscopy measurements in the same temperature range were carried out in the frequency range 100Hz to 10 MHz. Increase in the Zn content resulted in increased electrical conductivity and higher values of the dielectric constant. The resistance and capacitance of grains and grain boundaries were analyzed by modeling the experimental results using an equivalent circuit.

AB - Due to its outstanding electrical characteristics, such as the low temperature expansion coefficient, low dielectric constant and good mechanical properties, cordierite, 2MgO center dot 2Al(2)O(3)center dot 5SiO(2), is a very attractive high-temperature ceramic material. In order to accelerate the process of sintering, 2.50 mass% Bi2O3 has been added to the starting mixtures. Liquid phase sintering caused by the presence of bismuth-oxide lowers the temperature of cordierite formation. The mechanical activation of the starting mixtures (0-56 min in vibro-mill) additionally lowers sintering temperatures. The sintering process was performed at 1200, 1300, 1350 and 1400 degrees C, for 2 h. The particle size analysis (PSA) was employed in order to determine the changes in the particle size of the mechanically treated powders. The phase composition of the starting powders and sintered materials was analyzed by the X-ray diffraction method. Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used in the analysis of the powder morphology.

AB - Mixtures of BaCO3, ZnO and TiO2 powders, with molar ratio of 1:2:4, were mechanically activated for 20, 40 and minutes in a planetary ball mill. The resulting powders were compacted into pellets and isothermally sintered at 1250 degrees C for 2h with a heating rate of 10 degrees C/min. X-ray diffraction analysis of obtained powders and sintered samples was performed in order to investigate changes of the phase composition. The microstructure of sintered samples was examined by scanning electron microscopy. The photoacoustic phase and amplitude spectra of sintered samples were measured as a function of the laser beam modulating frequency using a transmission detection configuration. Fitting of experimental data enabled determination of photoacoustic properties including thermal diffusivity. Based on the results obtained correlation between thermal diffusivity and experimental conditions, as well the samples microstructure characteristics, was discussed.

AB - Primordial radionuclides present in the rocks and minerals of the earth's crust are naturally occurring source of radiation that has important impact on human health. Therefore, it is essential to evaluate origin, mobility and transfer of natural radionuclides in ecosystem. Our paper represents the results of influence of mineral composition, sand-, silt-, and clay-size mechanical fraction and heavy mineral fraction on distribution and mobility of natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th, 226Ra and 40K in profiles of soil type rigosol, from the area of school estate good "Radmilovac" of Faculty of Agriculture, Zemun, University of Belgrade. Methods used were X-ray powder diffraction, heavy liquid mineral separation, HCBr3, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and gamma-ray spectrometry. Analysis of the results showed correlation of natural radionuclides with heavy mineral fraction (Fe oxides and hydroxides, epidote, ilmeniterutile, staurolite and zircon, garnet, amphibole) and secondary minerals (Ca montmorillonite, mix layer silicates (MSS), illite, kaolinite and vermiculite).
