AB - This review article is treating the use of several non-nutritive adsorbents in vitro and their in vivo application as possible solution it treating mycotoxicosis. Adsorbents reviewed were: zeolites, bentonites, HSCAS, various clays and active charcoal. It is shown that with the addition of those non-nutritive adsorbents the effects of mycotoxins, that may be present in significant amounts in animal feeds, could be neutralized to some degree. It must be stressed that there is no single substance that is equally effective in adsorption of all mycotoxins, also that no substance is able to completely eliminate negative mycotoxin effects. .
AB - Ovaj pregledni rad razmatra upotrebu nekoliko različitih adsorbenata in vitro i njihovu primenu in vivo kao mogući pristup u rešavanju mikotoksikoza.

AB - The results of using ground soybean grain in feeding lactating cows were shown. The inclusion of 1-2 kg ground soybean grain in diets for cows increased milk amount for 1.76 kg/cow per day and 636 kg/cow per year. The results show that the crude soybean grain has positive influence on milk production and hasn't negative influence on health status cows. .

AB - Substantial amounts of whey containing significant quantity of high valuable ingredients, such as lactose, proteins, vitamins and minerals remain in the process of cheese production. While 50-90% of whey is used for domestic animals feeding in developed courtiers, in our country, almost negligible amounts are used for that purpose. Dehydrated whey, included in milk replacers for calf, lamb or kid feeding, in pre-starters, starters or complete concentrate mixtures, is used in domestic animals feeding. Due to high operating costs, the whey dehydrating technology is less actual. Hence, the use of liquid whey seems to be a more promising solution. In ruminant and swine feeding, liquid whey can be included up to 30% of diet dry matter. In such a way substantial decreases in concentrate consumption are possible. The very recent solutions in whey usage are based on its improvement by combining it with complementary feeds (soybeans based products, non-protein nitrogen, various fat mixtures etc.). In such a feed combination whey is used as the carrier, while obtained mixtures are of high nutritive values.

AB - This review considers using different supplements in feeding the most sensitive categories of cattle with high genetic potential, cows in postpartal period and calves in the first few weeks of age. There are discussions about the results of recent research in using trace minerals in organic complexes in relation to inorganic form. There are also effects of using vitamin A, (-carotene, biotin, absorbents of toxic matter (micotoxine and ammonia), benefits of enzymes, buffers in rumen, bacteria's of lactic acid and other supplements for diet and feeds. The results of investigation show that nutritional supplements can improve physiological and metabolic processes in body, give better health, better feed efficiency, successful reproduction and production performance, easier prevention and stress consequence relief. .
AB - U ovom preglednom radu razmatrana su novija saznanja o korišćenju različitih dodataka u ishrani najosetljivijih kategorija goveda, visokog genetskog potencijala, i to krava u postpartalnom periodu i teladi u prvim danima života. Izneti rezultati ukazuju da nutritivni dodaci pospešuju fiziološke i metaboličke procese u organizmu, doprinose boljem zdravstvenom stanju, boljem iskorišćavanju hrane, odnosno uspešnijoj reprodukciji i produkciji i uspešnijem preventiranju i otklanjanju posledica stresa.

Izneti rezultati ukazuju da nutritivni dodaci pospešuju fiziološke i metaboličke procese u organizmu, doprinose boljem zdravstvenom stanju, boljem iskorišćavanju hrane, odnosno uspešnijoj reprodukciji i produkciji i uspešnijem preventiranju i otklanjanju posledica stresa.",

AB - The influence of Pleurotus ostreatus enzymes on wheat straw degradation was investigated in laboratory conditions. Chopped and pressure-pasteurized straw with 24% dry matter was seeded with mushroom mycelium. Analyses of the straw were done on day 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 after seeding. The mushroom collection was done four times. After seeding, NDF decreased from 824 to 485 g kg(-1), ADF from 561 to 412 g kg(-1). A similar tendency was found for hemicellulose and cellulose, while it was not so pronounced for lignin. Ash content increased from 62.6 to 97.8 g kg(-1). Degradation rates calculated for individual constituents of cell wall components were: hemicellulose 0.902, lignin 0.450, NDF 0.402, cellulose 0.290 and ADF 0.276% day(-1). The obtained results show that a substantial part of straw dry matter was degraded by the mushroom enzymes. The effects were most notable for cell-wall components which allowed successful use of the straw as a substrate for mushroom growth. It was assumed that spent Pleurotus compost may be used as a part of the cattle diet. That was investigated in a feeding trial where compost formed 0% (Control), 10% (Group I) and 17% (Group II) of dietary dry matter. It was found that animals would not consume mixed ration with more than 17% DM from compost. The decrease in daily gain was observed with the increase of compost level in the diet. Average daily gains were 1150, 1140 and 990 g day(-1) respectively. Animals in Group II had significantly lower gain compared with Control and Group I (P lt 0.01). The utilization of dry matter per kg of gain had a tendency to decrease with the increased amount of compost in the diet.
