AB  - Zdravlje ljudi zavisi pre svega od kvaliteta hrane, odnosno poljoprivrednih proizvoda i načina njihove proizvodnje. Ukoliko gajene biljne vrste rastu na neplodnom zemljištu ili su u većem stepenu izložene stresnim uslovima, apsorbovaće i akumulirati manje minerala, naročito esencijalnih elemenata, kao što su cink, bakar, mangan, magnezijum, kalcijum, gvožđe pa čak i sumpor, što vodi njihovom nedostatku u ishrani i povećanoj mogućnosti pojave hroničnih bolesti kod ljudi. Sa druge strane, zemljišta se iscrpljuju zahvaljujući intenzivnoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji, jer biljke koriste sve potrebne elemente za sopstveni razvoj i formiranje prinosa, a ne samo azot, fosfor i kalijum koji se uglavnom unose sa đubrivima. Takođe, zemljišta se mogu nalaziti na matičnoj podlozi koja je siromašna ili ne sadrži pojedine esencijalne elemente.
Zahvaljujući sinergiji sa gajenim biljkama preko korena, mikroorganizmi iz bio-đubriva podržavaju stabilniji i bolji rast i razvoj, povećavaju iskorišćenje vode i hraniva od strane biljaka, rezultirajući većim i nutritivno bogatijim prinosom. Upotreba drugih mera gajenja, kao što su plodored, združivanje useva, kao i upotreba pokrovnih useva omogućava obogaćivanje zemljišta organskom materijom. Kroz recikliranje žetvenih ostataka smanjuju se gubici hraniva, a istovremeno povećava plodnost zemljišta, kao i visina i kvalitet ostvarenih prinosa gajenih biljaka.

The Morfological And Molecular Identification Of Fusarium Verticillioides Causing Fusariosis On Wheat Grain

The morfological and molecular identification of Fusarium verticillioides causing fusariosis on wheat grain. - Genetika, Vol 53, No.2, 641-649. During the 2014-2017 period, wheat samples were collected from discoloured spikes affected by Fusarium head blight (FHB) from 20 locations in Serbia. After isolation, fungi were cultivated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) at 25oC for 7 days. Based on the in situ identification on PDA, 36 isolates of the section Liseola were selected for further analyses. The pathogenicity of all isolates was confirmed on wheat leaves. The virulence of isolates was determined by measuring the lengths of spots formed at the inoculation leaf site. In order to prove the presence of the species Fusarium verticillioides, a pair of primers FV-F2/FV-R was used. This pair of primers amplifies the sequence of the gaoB gene, and it proved to be specific for the stated species. Moreover, for the same purpose, a pair of primers VER1-VER2 based on the calmodulin partial gene was used. The reference isolate RBG 1603 Q27 was used as a positive control. The pair of primers VER1-VER2 produced a band of the expected size - 578 bp in 18 isolates, while using FV-F2/FV-R, a 370bp long band confirmed the presence of F. verticillioides in 16 samples. Sixteen out of 18 isolates verified with VER1-VER2 were also identified as F. verticillioides with FV-FS/FV-R. No amplification was observed in a negative control.

Characterization of proteins from kernel of different soybean varieties

AB  - BACKGROUND: Total soybean proteins, storage proteins, glycinin (11S) and beta-conglycinin (7S) fractions and their respective subunits in seven soybean varieties were analyzed. In this work we also present the correlation between concentration and activity of bioactive proteins, lipoxygenase and proteinase inhibitors. RESULTS: Glycinin and beta-conglycinin comprise about 750 g kg(-1) of the bean storage protein and as such account for both quantity and quality of the kernel protein. The 11S concentration of the varieties studied ranged from 503.4 to 602.9 g kg(-1) and those of 7S varied from 178.2 to 230.6 g kg(-1) of total extractable proteins. The ratio of 11S/7S proteins varied from 2.43 to 3.29 among the varieties. A very strong positive correlation was found between the concentration of Kunitz trypsin inhibitor and activity of total trypsin inhibitor (r = 0.96). However, lipoxygenase concentration did not show a strong correlation with lipoxygenase activity. CONCLUSION: It appears that among the seven ZP soybean genotypes there are genotypes with different amounts of subunits that should be bred in the future for a desired level of protein components.
