AB - The influence of three cultivars (‘Carmen’, ‘Kordia’ and ‘Regina’) grafted on six rootstocks (Mahaleb, ‘Colt’, ‘Oblacinska’, ‘M × M 14′, ‘Gisela 5′ and ‘Gisela 6′) on the phenolic profile of sweet cherry fruits was studied during a two-year period. All the individual phenolic compounds were detected using high-pressure liquid chromatography with diode-array detection coupled with mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MSn). In all the examined samples, 54 compounds were identified and divided into five phenolic classes: anthocyanins (4 compounds), flavonols (7), flavanols (11), flavanones (4), and hydroxycinnamic acids (28). Anthocyanins (58%) and hydroxycinnamic acids (31%) showed the greatest amounts in all the examined fruit samples. PCA analysis revealed that among the cultivars, ‘Kordia’ showed the highest phenolic content. Regarding rootstocks, the lowest values of the most important phenolic compounds were obtained in fruits from trees grafted onto the seedling rootstock Mahaleb. Among the clonal rootstocks, the vigorous ‘Colt’ and dwarf ‘Gisela 5′ promoted the highest values of the evaluated phenolic compounds in the cultivars ‘Kordia’ and ‘Carmen’, while the dwarf ‘Oblacinska’ and semi-vigorous ‘M × M 14′ induced the highest values in the cultivar ‘Regina’. By evaluating the influence of cultivars and rootstocks on the phenolic content in fruit, it has been proven that the cultivar has the most significant influence. However, the rootstock also influences the content of a large number of phenolic compounds. The selection of an adequate cultivar/rootstock combination can also be a powerful tool for improving the phenolic content in fruits, and consequently the nutritional value of sweet cherry fruits. © 2022 by the authors.

AB - The influence of three clonal rootstocks (‘Pixyʼ, ‘Fereleyʼ and ‘St. Julien Aʼ) along with seedlings of Myrobalan (control) on growth, yield and fruit quality of plum cultivars ‘Čačanska Najboljaʼ and ‘Čačanska Lepoticaʼ was studied in the Belgrade region (Serbia) for the six year-period (2013–2018). In comparison to control, clonal rootstocks have shown a significant effect on the decrease of trunk cross-sectional area. The lowest vigor was found in trees on the ‘Pixyʼ rootstock, then on ‘Fereleyʼ and ‘St. Julien Aʼ. Yield per hectare on trees grafted on clonal rootstocks was higher for 62–82% in ‘Čačanska Najboljaʼ, and for 26–27% in ‘Čačanska Lepoticaʼ compared to Myrobalan. In cultivar ‘Čačanska Najboljaʼ significantly higher fruit weight compared to control was obtained in the trees on the ‘Fereleyʼ and ‘St. Julien Aʼ rootstocks. The effects of rootstocks on the contents of soluble solids and total acids in the fruit were not significant. All three studied clonal rootstocks showed better results than standard Myrobalan, and can be recommended for establishing intensive plum plantations with higher planting density. © 2022, Wydawnictwo Akad Rolniczej W Lublinie. AB - The aim of this study was to examine the influence of shoot age on the biological and chemical properties of 13 black currant cultivars with different origins and ripening times. Pheno-logical observations together with examined pomological and chemical characteristics were studied in two consecutive years at the experimental field near Belgrade, Serbia. The total content of phenols was estimated spectrophotometrically by the Folin-Ciocalteu method, while quantitative analysis of anthocyanin and flavonols aglycones was performed using a high-performance liquid chromato-graphic (HPLC) method. Principal component analysis was performed to establish differences in biological and chemical properties of black currants. Three-year-old shoots had an earlier start of all examined phenological stages, better generative potential, higher yields, while clusters and berries from 2-year-old shoots had significantly higher values for physical properties, total phenols, anthocyanin and flavanols aglycones and antiradical capacity. Late ripening cultivars had higher contents of all chemical compounds. The berries on 2-year-old shoots had total phenolics that ranged between 123.0 (‘Titania’) and 298.3 mg/100 g fresh weight (FW) (‘Ometa’), while total antho-cyanins ranged between 398.5 (’Ojebyn’) and 1160.8 mg/kg FW (’Ometa’). According to the obtained results, cultivars ‘Ometa’, ‘Ben Lomond’, ‘Tsema’ and ‘Malling Juel’ can be recommended as the most promising for growing in the continental climate because they stood out with higher generative potential and yield, physical traits of cluster and berry, higher level of primary and secondary metabolites and DPPH activity in their berries.

bujnost, rodnost i kvalitet ploda devet sorti trešnje ranog vremena sazrevanja.
zrenja plodova u drugoj polovini maja.
Rozita (1,2 kg), a najviši sorta Merchant (4,1 kg).

AB - Almond production in Serbia is very small. The main reason for this is the frequent occurrence
of late spring frosts during flowering. Present study was carried out to evaluate phenological
characteristics (flowering and maturity times), productivity, and characteristics of the nut and the
kernel (nut weight and dimensions, shell thickness, weight of kernel, kernel share, oil and protein
contents) in 13 almond genotypes of a different origin growing in the region of Belgrade. The
average flowering time was the second half of March and the first decade of April. The
flowering began first in ‛Nessebarʼ, ‛Selection 25ʼ, and ‛Tétényi kedvencʼ (16th of March), and
latest in ‛Francoliʼ, and ‛Texasʼ (29th of March). Beginning of the fruit maturity was recorded in
the range of 13 days, from August 15th (‛Tétényi bőtermőʼ and ‘Tétényi keményhéjúʼ) to August
28th (‛Glorietaʼ). The average productivity was the lowest in ‛Glorietaʼ and ‛Francoliʼ and the
highest in ‛Tuonoʼ. In March 2017 late spring frost that significantly reduced yield in early
flowering cultivars was recorded. Nut weight ranged from 1.95 g (‛Budatétényʼ) to 5.58 g
(‛Marconaʼ). Shell thickness varied from 1.71 mm (‛Budatétényʼ) to 5.06 mm (‛Marconaʼ).
Kernel weight was the lowest in ‛Selection 25ʼ (0.80 g) and ‛Tuonoʼ (0.81 g), and the highest in
‛Texasʼ (1.30 g). Kernel share was the lowest in ‛Selection 25ʼ (16.03%), and the highest in
‛Budatétényʼ (57.93%). Oil content ranged from 44.35% (‛Glorietaʼ) to 57.52% (‛Budatétényʼ),
and protein content ranged from 21.72% (‛Budatétényʼ) to 30.51% (‛Selection 25ʼ). Obtained
results indicate that Belgrade region is suitable for growing of late flowering almond cultivars.

AB - Growth and productivity characteristics (shoot length, flower bud density, fruit set, fruit weight, yield per tree, trunk cross-sectional area and yield efficiency) were studied in 15 apricot cultivars in the Belgrade area during the period of two years (2013-2014). The cultivar ‘Hungarian Best’ was used as a control for comparison. The average length of fruiting shoots ranged from 68.8 to 84.5 cm, and the number of flower buds per 1 cm of shoot length varied from 0.40 to 1.20. Nine cultivars are characterized by higher flower bud density in comparison to the control cultivar. The average fruit set ranged from 2.4 to 36.2%. Compared to control, fruit set was significantly higher in ‘Cegledi Arany’ and ‘Roxana’, while it was lower in ‘Laycot’. The average fruit weight ranged from 39.3 to 88.9 g. Compared to control, fruit weight was significantly higher in five cultivars: ‘Sophia’, ‘Neptun’, ‘Roxana’, ‘Cegledy Arany’, and ‘Goldrich’, and it was lower in two cultivars: ‘Ninfa’ and ‘Tomcot’. The average yield per tree was the lowest in the control cultivar, ‘Hungarian Best’ (6.6 kg) and the highest in ‘Sylred’ (29.6 kg). In majority of cultivars (ten) the yield was significantly higher than in the control cultivar. The lowest vigor was recorded in ‘Neptun’, and the highest in ‘Ninfa’. All cultivars had higher cumulative yield efficiency than the control (‘Hungarian Best’ with 0.13 kg cm-2) and it ranged from 0.18 to 0.49 kg cm-2.

AB - Pruning is the most important pomotechnical measure in intensive sweet cherry cultivation, that significantly affects fruit quality. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of pruning intensity on biological characteristics of sweet cherry trees. The experimental orchard was situated on the Fruška Gora mountain, near Novi Sad, in the north of Serbia. Three sweet cherry cultivars were examined: ‘Burlat’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘Summit’. All cultivars were grafted on ‘Oblačinska’ sour cherry rootstock. Experimental orchard was established in 2012 with planting distance 3.85×2.5 m. During a two-year period (2017-2018) the following characteristics were studied: time of flowering and ripening, trunk diameter, number of spurs tree-1, fruit weight and yield. Pruning was applied in September with two intensities: intensive pruning (IP) and moderate pruning (MP). After pruning, number of spurs tree-1 was counted and calculated in relation to trunk cross-sectional area (TCSA). Number of spurs cm-2 of TCSA in IP variant was in the range of 2.03-2.18, and in MP variant it ranged 3.16-3.45. The results indicate significant effect of pruning intensity on fruit weight. Average fruit weight on IP trees in all three cultivars was significantly higher than on MP trees. Yield was also under influence of pruning intensity, and IP mostly leads to yield decreasing.

AB - Characteristics of growth and cropping (trunk cross-sectional area, yield per tree, yield efficiency, biennial bearing index, and fruit weight) were studied in 25 late-season plum cultivars in the Belgrade area during the eight-year period (2012-2019). The cultivar 'Stanley' was used as a control for comparison. The period of study was divided into initial bearing (age of trees: four and five years) and full bearing (age of trees: between six and eleven years). Significant differences in yield among cultivars were found in both initial and full bearing periods. The average yield per tree in the period of initial bearing ranged from 1.6 kg in 'Pozna Plava' to 10.9 kg in 'Topper', and from 12.3 kg in 'Pozna Plava' to 26.1 kg in 'Mildora' in the period of full bearing. Compared with the control cultivar, significantly lower yields in the full bearing period were obtained in eight cultivars, while higher vigour, expressed as trunk cross-sectional area (TCSA), was found in ten cultivars. Cumulative yield efficiency varied between 0.46 kg/cm2 in 'Požegača' and 1.90 kg/cm2 in 'Topper'. Biennial bearing index was the lowest (0.06) in 'Nada', and the highest (0.90) in 'Tophit'. Fruit weight ranged from 17.9 g in 'Požegača' to 57.0 g in 'Empress'. Compared with the control, fruit weight was significantly higher in seven cultivars, and significantly lower in nine cultivars. On the basis of high yields and large fruit size, the cultivars 'Bluefre', 'Empress', 'Jojo', 'Nada', 'President' and 'Tophit' can be recommended for growing in the Belgrade region.

On the basis of high yields and large fruit size, the cultivars 'Bluefre', 'Empress', 'Jojo', 'Nada', 'President' and 'Tophit' can be recommended for growing in the Belgrade region., Karakteristike rasta i rodnosti (površina poprečnog preseka debla, prinos po stablu, koeficijent rodnosti, indeks alternativne rodnosti i masa ploda) proučavane su kod 25 sorti šljive poznog vremena zrenja na području Beograda u periodu od osam godina (2012-2019).

AB - Chemical and antioxidant properties of fruits of three plum cultivars (‘Čacanska Rana’,
‘Čacanska Lepotica’ and ‘Čacanska Najbolja’) grafted on four rootstocks (Myrobalan, ‘Pixy’,
‘Fereley’ and ‘St. Julien A’) were studied in the region of Belgrade (Serbia). Chemical
composition of plum fruits was found to be more cultivar- then rootstock-dependent. The
average values for soluble solids, total sugars, inverted sugars, sucrose, and total acids content
in cultivar/rootstocks combinations ranged from 11.7 to 14.2%, from 9.5 to 11.5%, from 6.6
to 7.6%, from 2.7 to 3.9%, and from 0.71 to1.11%, respectively. The contents of soluble
solids and total sugars were the highest in fruits of ‘Čacanska Najbolja’, while the lowest
contents were found in fruits of ‘Čacanska Rana’ cultivar. Total phenolic content (TPC) in the
skin and flesh of plums was in the range from 4.44 to 15.93 mg GAE g-1, and from 0.38 to
0.86 mg GAE g-1 respectively. TPC in the skin was 6–20 times higher than in the flesh of the
same cultivar/rootstock combinations. Differences in TPC among rootstocks were not
statistically significant, but significant differences among cultivars were found. Radical scavenging
activity (RSA) in the skin and flesh ranged from 39.08 to 78.49 μmol TE g-1, and
from 10.40 to 16.97 μmol TE g-1 respectively. Significant differences in RSA were found
among cultivars and cultivar/rootstock combinations, whereas differences between rootstocks
were not significant. The highest RSA was found in fruits of ‘Čacanska Najbolja’ cultivar.

AB - Effect of irrigation on fruit quality and yield of Red Cap apple variety depending on crop load were studied. The aim of the paper is to determine how many apple fruits can be left on trees in third vegetation, growth under different irrigation treatments (without irrigation, normal irrigation - control and increased irrigation - double irrigation rate). For the Red Cap variety in the third year after planting, in order to achieve good fruit quality and satisfactory yield, it is necessary to leave a maximum of 25 fruits per tree, or 3.5 fruits per cm2of trunk cross-sectional area (TCSA). Different irrigation treatments have influence on the fruit size, the proportion of first class fruits, as well as the degree of ripeness of the fruits. Increased irrigation during the months of July and August affects these parameters, but to a lesser extent than the crop load. The largest irrigation effect on the increase of fruit size had trees from crop load III, who had 5,5 fruits per cm2 of TCSA. Increased irrigation during July and August had no statistically significant effect on tested parameters on trees that had less than 4,5 fruits per cm2 of TCSA and trees that had more than 6,5 fruits per cm2 of TCSA.

AB - Assessment of chilling requirements for breaking dormancy (CR) and heat requirements for flowering (HR) in fruit trees is important for selecting cultivars suitable for the climatic conditions of the site. The objective of this study was to estimate CR and HR in six almond cultivars grown in the Belgrade region. The study was conducted during a three-year period. The CR was quantified using the Utah chill unit model (CU). The date of completion of CR was determined according to the weight increase and phenological transition of forced flower buds in controlled conditions. The HR was determined as growing degree hours (GDH) accumulated from the breaking of dormancy to the beginning of flowering using a base temperature of 4°C. The CR ranged from 690 CU in 'Exinograd' to 1285 CU in 'Mari de Stepa'. The HR varied between 3838 GDH in 'Ferragnes' and 4539 GDH in 'Mari de Stepa'. The earlier-flowering cultivars were those with the lowest CR. The latest flowering cultivar 'Mari de Stepa' (April 11) finished dormancy on average 51 days after the earliest flowering cultivar 'Exinograd' (March 29).

AB - The phenology of flowering was studied in 50 apricot cultivars in the Belgrade region over a period of eight years (2009-2016). Within the flowering phenophase, three sub-phases were registered: the beginning of flowering, full flowering and the end of flowering. In addition, the duration and abundance of flowering were examined. The average date of the beginning of flowering for all cultivars was March 22, of full flowering - March 25, and of the end of flowering - April 1. The average duration of flowering was 9.7 days, with a range among cultivars between 7.5 days ('Gergana') and 12 days ('Ninfa' and 'Radka'). The lowest average score (3.0) for flowering intensity was obtained in 'Hungarian Best' cultivar, and the highest score (4.6) in 'Harcot' and 'Leskora' cultivars. In years with higher temperatures during the flowering, a smaller range in flowering time among cultivars was recorded, as well as shorter duration of flowering. Based on the beginning of flowering, the tested cultivars were classified into three groups: early-flowering (14 cultivars), medium-flowering (21 cultivars) and late-flowering (15 cultivars). Meteorological factors (air temperature) had a greater influence on the course and duration of the flowering phenophase than the genetic traits of the cultivars.

AB - Phenological traits, yield, and fruit characteristics of 14 plum cultivars of late maturation period were studied in the region of Belgrade in the five-year period (2013-2017). The control cultivar for comparison was 'Stanley'. The average time of flowering was in the first half of April, and of fruit maturation in the second half of August and the beginning of September. Yield per tree was lowest in the cultivar 'Pozna Plava' (10.2 kg) and highest in the cultivar 'Topking' (23.6 kg). Compared to the control, significantly lower yield was achieved in three cultivars: 'Pozna Plava', 'Vengerka Pozdnyaya', and Narach'. Fruit weight ranged from 26.1 g in the cultivar 'Elena' to 57.0 g in the cultivar 'Empress'. Compared to the control, it was significantly higher in three cultivars (Empress', `Vengerka Pozdnyaya', and 'Tophie'). All studied cultivars had high soluble solids content, ranging from 17.1% to 21.6%. The best rated cultivar for fruit appearance was 'Empress', while cultivars 'Nada' and 'Pozna Plava' were best scored for taste.

AB - The paper examines the influence of three clonal rootstocks ('Pixy', 'Fereley' and 'St. Julien A') along with seedlings of Myrobalan (control) on the growth, yield and fruit quality of the plum cultivar 'Čačanska Rana'. Research was conducted in the area of the Belgrade Danube basin for the six-year period (2013-2018). In comparison to control, all three clonal rootstocks have shown a significant effect on the decrease of vigor expressed as a trunk cross-sectional area. The lowest vigor was found in trees on the 'Pixy' rootstock, then on 'Fereley' and 'St. Julien A' rootstocks. Regarding the rootstocks 'Fereley' and 'St. Julien A', significantly higher fruit set and yields were achieved in comparison to control. Clonal rootstocks induced an increase in the yield per hectare ranging from 72% to 93% compared to Myrobalan. The highest yield efficiency was found in the trees on the 'Fereley' rootstock, followed by the yields observed in the trees on the 'Pixy' and 'St. Julien A' rootstocks. Significantly higher fruit weight compared to control was obtained in the trees on the 'Fereley' rootstock. Rootstocks did not show any significant effect on the soluble solids and total acid contents of the fruit. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that all three clonal rootstocks showed better results than Myrobalan, and can be recommended for establishing intensive plum plantations with higher planting density. The best results in terms of yield and fruit quality were obtained with the 'Fereley' rootstock.

AB - The focus of our research was to evaluate different apples cultivars in terms of their biological properties and bioactive compounds content, and determine the levels of their resistance (or susceptibility) to fire blight. The properties of 10 scab-resistant apple cultivars were examined on the Zica monastery estate (West Serbia) during the period from 2011 to 2015. The biological and chemical properties such as firmness, maturity stage, total soluble solids, total acids, total and reducing sugars, ascorbic acid content and surface blush of apple fruits were monitored. Various phenolic compounds in the tested samples were tentatively identified by LC-MS analyses. A study of generative properties included: number of flowerbuds, fruit mass and width, crop load, yield efficiency and yield. During the period of blooming and intensive shoot growth, artificial inoculations were carried out. For each cultivar, a fire blight score was determined by dividing the average length of necrotic tissue by the average total shoot length. In the study period, the cultivars 'CroldRush' (41.1 t ha(-1)) and 'Florina' (35.9 t ha(-1)) produced the highest yields, and the cultivars 'Discovery' (19.0 t ha(-1)) and Selection 25/63 (15.1 t ha(-1)) the lowest. The cultivar 'William's Pride' produced the largest fruits, with an average fruit mass of 206.8 g. The earliest harvest period was recorded for the cultivar 'Discovery' (end of July), and the latest for the cultivar 'CroldRush' (beginning of October). The cultivar 'Enterprise' had the highest value of total phenols (432.2 mg 100 g(-1) FW), while the cultivar 'Topaz' had the highest value of total flavanols (145.2 mg 100 g(-1) FW). The highest degree of susceptibility to fire blight was found in Selection 25/63, and the greatest resistance was manifested by the cultivar 'CroldRush'. In the five-year study period, the cultivars 'GoldRush', 'Rewena' and 'Enterprise' exhibited better bio-chemical properties and higher levels of resistance to fire blight than the remaining cultivars.

AB - The influence of three clonal rootstocks ('Pixy', 'Fereley', and 'St. Julien A') and one seedling rootstock ('Myrobalan') on tree vigor and productivity of three table plums cultivars ('Èaèanska Rana', 'Èaèanska Lepotica', and 'Èaèanska Najbolja') was examined in the region of Belgrade over a period of three years (2013-2015). Trunk crosssectional area, number, and length and weight of shoots removed during summer pruning were used as vigor indicators, while fruit set, yield tree-1, and cumulative yield efficiency were used as productivity indicators. Rootstocks exhibited a significant influence on tree vigor and productivity of the tested cultivars. The lowest values of the vigor indicators were found on 'Pixy' rootstock for all cultivars, and the highest values were found on 'Myrobalan' seedling rootstock. Based on the results obtained, 'Pixy' can be classified as a dwarf rootstock, 'Fereley' and 'St. Julien A' as medium vigorous rootstocks, and 'Myrobalan' as a vigorous rootstock. The fruit set was highest on 'Fereley' rootstock (on average 19.1% for all cultivars), while on the other three rootstocks it had lower values ranging from 16.4-17.1%. The highest yield tree-1 was obtained on 'Fereley' rootstock (on average 20.33 kg for all cultivars), then on 'St. Julien A' (18.50 kg) and 'Pixy' (16.09 kg), while the lowest yield was obtained on 'Myrobalan' seedling rootstock (15.62 kg). Cumulative yield efficiency was also the highest on the rootstock 'Fereley' (on average 1.05 kg cm-2 for all cultivars), and the lowest on 'Myrobalan' seedling rootstock (0.71 kg cm-2).

AB - The evaluation of 15 diploid plum cultivars (mostly Prunus cerasifera hybrids) originating from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Bulgaria was carried out in the region of Belgrade over a period of four years (2011-2014). The time of flowering of studied cultivars was early, at the end of March and the first decade of April. Most cultivars are characterized by the early time of maturation (the last week of June or the first week of July). With the exception of the ‘Crvena Afska’, all other cultivars had high productivity (scores 4.0-4.8 on a 0-5 scale). Fruit weight ranged from 18.9 g in ‘Kolonovidnaja’ to 40.3 g in ‘Sonejka’. Stones were relatively small (0.74-1.47 g), and their share in the total fruit weight was 2.2-5.1%. The content of soluble solids ranged from 10.5-19.5%, while the content of titratable acids varied from 0.84-2.17%. Most of the studied cultivars are suitable for fruit processing, especially ‘Krimska Zholtaya’, ‘Soneyka’, and ‘Mara’. Some cultivars, such as ‘Dezertnaya’, ‘Obilnaya’, ‘Lama’, and ‘Naidyona’ can also be used for fresh consumption.

AB - The suitability of five apricot cultivars: ‘Aurora’, ‘Laycot’, ‘Pinkcot’, ‘Sylred’ and ‘Veecot’ as pollenizers for ‘Goldrich’ were studied. The study included the phenology of flowering, pollen germination, fruit set and growth of pollen tubes in vivo in the pistil. Pollen germination was determined on the medium with agar and 15% sucrose. The growth of pollen tubes in the pistil was determined by fluorescence microscopy, and fixation of pistils was done in three terms (2, 4 and 6 days after pollination). Regarding the flowering time, all tested cultivars overlapped well with ‘Goldrich’. Besides, all tested cultivars had good pollen germination, ranging from 58 to 74%. The highest fruit set was obtained in combinations with ‘Veecot’ (34%) and ‘Sylred’ (30%). Significantly lower fruit set was obtained in combinations with ‘Laycot’ (17%) and ‘Pinkcot’ (15%), while the combination with ‘Aurora’ gave the lowest fruit set (4%). First pollen tubes at the base of the style were observed on the second day after pollination, but their number increased significantly on the fourth day after pollination. Later, on the sixth day after pollination, the number of pollen tubes was not significantly increased. Number of pollen tubes at the base of the style and in the ovary was significantly higher in variants with ‘Veecot’, ‘Sylred’, ‘Pinkcot’ and ‘Laycot’, comparing to the variant with ‘Aurora’. Based on these results, ‘Veecot’ and ‘Sylred’ can be recommended as the best pollenizers for ‘Goldrich’. Satisfactory results were given by ‘Pinkcot’ and ‘Laycot’, while ‘Aurora’ proved to be a bad pollenizer.

AB - Evaluation of 11 introduced Canadian apricot cultivars was conducted in the region of Belgrade during
a six-year period (2009‡2014). Control cultivar for comparison was ‘Hungarian Best’. Studies have included
time of flowering and ripening, yield, and fruit quality. In addition, self-(in)compatibility trait was studied
by means of fluorescence microscopy. Canadian cultivars began to flower one to five days before ‘Hungarian
Best’, while average harvest date was earlier in four cultivars, and later in seven cultivars. Compared with the
control cultivar, significantly higher yield was achieved in cultivars ‘Harcot’, Harojoy’, ‘Sundrop’, ‘Harogem’,
and ‘Harostar’. Significantly larger fruit size was achieved in ‘Laycot’, while smaller size was found in cultivars
‘Harlayne’, ‘Harglow’, ‘Harostar’ and ‘Sundrop’. Most of the introduced cultivars had better scores for fruit appearance,
while scores for fruit quality were lower or at the same level as in control cultivar. Nine of studied cultivars
were self-incompatible, while only two were self-compatible (‘Harlayne’ and ‘Harogem’).

fenološke osobine, bujnost, rodnost i kvalitet ploda 14 stonih sorti šljive. Kao standard za
poređenje je uzeta sorta Čačanska lepotica. Cvetanje ispitivanih sorti je bilo krajem marta i u
prvoj polovini aprila, a zrenje plodova od kraja juna (Boranka) do početka septembra (Pozna
plava).
pokazale sorte: Valor, Empres, Prezident, Tophit i Čačanska najbolja.

AB - Phenological characteristics, yield and fruit quality of 14 medium-late ripening plum cultivars, were studied in the region of Belgrade during the five-year period (2013-2017). The control cultivar for comparison was 'Čačanska rodna'. Flowering of tested cultivars occurred in the first half of April, and fruit maturation was in the first half of August. The average yield per tree was the lowest in the 'Nevena' cultivar (1.6 kg), and the highest in the 'Mildora' cultivar (22.5 kg). Compared to the control cultivar, significantly lower yield was achieved in seven cultivars. The lowest vigor was determined in the standard cultivar ('Čačanska rodna'), and the highest in the 'Milka' cultivar. The average fruit weight ranged from 19.5 g in the 'Nevena' cultivar to 50.5 g in the 'Valor' cultivar. Compared to the control, fruit weight was statistically significantly higher in five cultivars. In all studied cultivars, the high soluble solids content (over 17%) was found, while in cultivars 'Mildora' and 'Valor' it was significantly higher than in the control. On the basis of the obtained results, as regards cultivation in the region of Belgrade, it is possible to recommend the following cultivars: 'Valor' and 'Čačanska najbolja' as predominantly table cultivars (for fresh consumption), 'Jojo' and 'Vengerka krupna slatka' as cultivars of combined characteristics and 'Mildora' as a cultivar for processing.
AB - Phenological traits, yield, and fruit characteristics of nine plum cultivars of early maturation
time were studied in the region of Belgrade (Serbia) in the five-year period (2013-2017). The
control cultivar for comparison was ‘Čačanska Rana’. The average time of flowering of tested
cultivars was in the first half of April, and the average duration of flowering varied from 7.4
to 10.4 days. The average time of maturation ranged from June, 22 (‘Boranka’) to July, 14
(‘Minerva’). The average yield per tree was lowest in the control cultivar, ‘Čačanska Rana’
(8.4 kg) and highest in the cultivar ‘Dalikatnaya’ (25.5 kg). Compared to control, significantly
higher yield was achieved in four cultivars: ‘Dalikatnaya’, ‘Opal’, ‘Minerva’, and ‘Katinka’.
The lowest vigor was recorded in the cultivar ‘Katinka’, and the highest in the cultivar ‘Opal’.
The average fruit weight ranged from 22.9 g in the cultivar ‘Katinka’ to 55.9 g in the cultivar
‘Čačanska Rana’. Compared to control, fruit weight was significantly lower in all cultivars
except ‘California Blue’. Soluble solids content was lowest in the cultivar ‘Boranka’ and
highest in cultivars ‘Opal’, ‘Herman’ and ‘Minerva’. The best rated cultivars for fruit
appearance were ‘Čačanska Rana’ and ‘California Blue’, while cultivars ‘Opal’ and ‘Katinka’
had the best scores for taste.
