AB - Mefentrifluconazole is a new fungicidal active substance from the isopropanol-azoles, a new sub-class of triazoles. It inhibits sterols biosynthesis and is a
very selective fungicide. It is a systemic fungicide with protective, curative, and
eradicative activity. Its spectrum includes important pathogens of cereals (Septoria spp., Puccinia spp., Ramularia collo-cygni, Rhynchosporium secalis). Unlike
most triazoles, withdrawn from use in the last 2-3 years, mainly due to reprotoxic
and carcinogenic effects, mefentrifluconazole is neither carcinogenic, nor genotoxic or reprotoxic. In adition, it is not acutely toxic, is not irritant to skin or
eyes and does not cause specific toxicity to target organs after single or repeated
exposure. In contact with the skin, it can cause sensitization, and this is the only
toxicological property on the basis of which it is classified and labeled. Acute and
chronic dietary exposure of all population groups to this active substance is low,
with a large margin of safety. Mefentrifluconazole is not acutely toxic to bees
and earthworms. It is very toxic acutely and chronically for aquatic organisms,
fish, invertebrates, and algae, while it is toxic for sediment organisms and aquatic macrophytes. The favourable toxicological properties of mefentrifluconazole,
and good efficacy in control of important pathogens, recommend this active substance as a good substitute for withdrawn triazoles.

AB - The objective of this study was to determine the Colletotrichum acutatum isolates sensitivity to several chemical compounds in vitro and to find their possibilities as a potential control agents for anthracnose disease on strawberry. C. acutatum J.H. Simmonds, a causing agent of anthracnose, is a very important pathogen of strawberry, which leads to devastating losses in its production. The pathogen is effectively controlled by the fungicides. Thus their application is necessary for achieving high yield and fruit quality. The sensitivity of 14 isolates of C. acutatum, collected from commercial strawberry plantations in Serbia, to four fungicides, was examined by an in vitro sensitivity assay. Based on the results of morphological, pathogenic and molecular characterization (up to the complex level), all 14 isolates were determined as C. acutatum. The commercial formulation of tebuconazole, fludioxonil, prochloraz and thiophanate-methyl were used for the sensitivity test. The mycelial growth assay method was used to investigate isolates sensitivity to fungicides. The tested isolates were very sensitive to prochloraz and fludioxonil, with mean EC50 values of 0.067±0.062 mg L-1 and 0.093±0.043 mg L-1, respectively. Significantly higher mean EC50 values were observed for tebuconazole (1.473±0.878 mg L-1) and thiophanate-methyl (1.718±1.592 mg L-1). The toxicity of tested fungicides in the mycelial growth assay of C. acutatum isolates indicates the potential implementation of these fungicides in the protection programs against strawberry anthracnose disease. © Journal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade). All rights reserved.

AB - In this work by encapsulation technique we have synthetized three new clove bud essential oil (CEO) Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulations depending on the carrier (synthetic zeolite-F-CSZ, nature zeolite-F-CNZ and gelatin-F-CG). The main idea was to develop an eco-friendly biopesticide that can find use in plant protection as an alternative to the use of conventional pesticides. By encapsulation we wanted to enable water solubility and ensure prolonged efficacy of the essential oil. Biological activity of designed CEO formulations was tested on potato tuber moth Phthorimaea operculella (fumigant mode of action), gray mold fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea (preserver coatings), and soft rotting bacterial pathogens Pectobacterium carotovorum (subsp. carotovorum and brasiliensis) and Dickeya dianthicola (direct competition). CEO formulations evinced a prolonged action on mortality of P. operculella during the insects’ exposure to the concentration of the emulsions of 40 µL L−1 air. The mortality gradually decreased from a probability of 100% after the first 24 h to 50% after 5 days for F-CSZ or after 4 days for F-CNZ and F-CG. The most promising formulation is F-CSZ enabling activity during 14 days of exposure, while the effect of the other two formulations lasted 10 days. All three formulations produced a strong fungicidal effect against B. cinerea by preventing infection and disease development. The best efficacy was evidenced with F-CSZ (synthetic zeolite as a carrier) showing 100% efficacy when it was used even at the lowest tested concentration of active CEO (1%). The results of in vitro testing against soft rot pathogens determined the MIC value of CEO formulations to be 1% of active CEO. By this research, we present a novel perspective on the use of essential oils as an alternative, environmental biopesticide. CEO formulations can be commercially exploited as a fumigant or preserver coatings to extend the shelf life of stored products or the fresh-fruit market.

AB - U toku 2020. godine, vršeno je ispitivanje biološke efikasnosti fungicida propamokarb – hidrohlorid + fluopikolid, cimoksanil, mandipropamid + difenokonazol
i dimetomorf + mankozeb u suzbijanju prouzrokovača plamenjače (Phytophthora
infestans) u usevu paradajza.
u dva navrata. Povoljni agrometeorološki uslovi rezultirali su značajnom pojavom
oboljenja u kontroli, koja je iznosila 17,5-41,3% u prvoj, odnosno, 28,8-95,0% u
vreme druge ocene efekata.
89,5% u drugoj oceni. Kombinacijom fungicida mandipropamid+difenokonazol
postignuta je efikasnost od 89,1 do 99,7% u prvoj, odnosno 88,2-98,5% u vreme
druge ocene efekata. Sa kombinacijom fungicida dimetomorf+mankozeb ostvarena
efkasnost iznosila je 94,1-97,8% u prvoj, odnosno 90,7-97,7% u drugoj oceni.
AB - During the season 2020, the biological efficacy of fungicides propamocarb
hydrochloride + fluopicolide, cymoxanil, mandipropamide + difenoconazole and
dimothomorph + mancozeb in the control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans)
in tomato, was investigated. The experiments were conducted in the localities of
Sovljak (Ub), Belosavci (Topola) and Garaši (Aranđelovac). The experiments were
carried out as a randomized block system in four replication (EPPO, 1996). A total
of five treatments and two assessments were performed at each location. Favorable
conditions resulted in a significant disease intensity on untreated plots, which amounted from 17,5-41,3% in the first, and 28,8-95,0% during the second assessment.
Fungicide mixture propamocarb-hydrochloride+fluopicolide, showed the efficacy from 94,5-99,4% at the first, and 92,3-97,9% at the second assessment. Fungicide cymoxanil, showed the efficacy of 83,0-92,9% at the first, and 80,0-89,5%
at the second assessment. Fungicide mixture mandipropamide+difenoconazole
achieved the efficacy from 89,1-99,7% at the first, and 88,2-98,5% during the second assessment. By a combination of dimothomorph+mancozeb the efficacy was
ranged from 94,1-97,8% at the first and from 90,7-97,7% at the second assessment.

conditions resulted in a significant disease intensity on untreated plots, which amounted from 17,5-41,3% in the first, and 28,8-95,0% during the second assessment.
By a combination of dimothomorph+mancozeb the efficacy was
ranged from 94,1-97,8% at the first and from 90,7-97,7% at the second assessment.",

AB - The aim of this study was to investigate the bioaccessibility of pesticide residues in blueberries (com-mercial and sample from controlled field trial) from Serbia, involving the presence of a complex food matrix and to assess the potential risk to human health. The presence of nine active substances (azox-ystrobin, boscalid, fludioxonil, cyprodinil, pyrimethanil, pyridaben, pyriproxyfen, acetamiprid and thia-metoxam) in initial blueberry samples was determined in concentration range from 5.15 mu g/kg for thiametoxam to 187 mu g/kg for azoxystrobin. Clothianidin, metabolite of thiametoxam, was not detected in any blueberry sample. However, after in vitro digestion, the content of initially detected pesticides residues was significantly decreased or it was below limit of quantification resulting in the total bio-accessibility of about 15%. Azoxystrobin, pyrimethanil and fludioxonil was quantified in digestive juice at concentrations which were about 81%, 37% and 10% less than the inital concentration, respectively. The presence of food matrix during digestion of blueberries even more severely reduced concentration of pesticide residues (total bioaccessibility was about 7%) compared to digestion without the food matrix. Only azoxystrobin was quantified after digestion with food matrix in concentration of 27 mu g/kg in sample from controlled field trial and detected in two commercial samples but below the limit of quantification. Furthermore, chronic risk assessment indicated that risk is acceptable for the health of different human subpopulation groups. The current study on pesticides residues, most commonly applied on blueberries, provides for the first time an insight into their bioaccessibility under conditions that mimic physiological environment of human digestive tract.

AB - During 2019, the examination of cyflufenamid efficacy in apple protection from powdery mildew, caused by fungus Podosphaera leucotricha, was performed. The experiments were conducted in the orchards at the following locations: OŠD Radmilovac, Vinča (Topola), Kukujevci (Šid) and Donja Kravarica (Lučani), as a completely randomized block system in four replications (EPPO, 1999). The application of fungicides was performed using motorized mist blower sprayer type Solo 423, with water consumption of 1000 l ha-1. Starting from the growth stage "half-inch green" (BBCH 56-57) to the growth stage "beginning of fruit development" (BBCH 70-73), a total of five treatments were done. Cyflamid has shown high efficacy in the control of P. leucotricha. Effective protection of apple was achieved in the orchards at all four localities. At the locality Radmilovac, the efficacy was 98.8%, at the locality Vinča 96.2%. At the localites Kukujevci and Donja Kravarica, the efficacy was 96.7 and 98.8%, respectively

AB - Didymella applanata, the causal agent of raspberry spur blight, is a destructive plant pathogen that can cause serious reductions in total yield. The use of fungicides plays a crucial role in successful control of the pathogen. The sensitivity of 94 isolates (66 collected during 2013 and 28 in 2017) of D. applanata to the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor, fluxapyroxad, was evaluated in this study. In addition, the efficacy of fluxapyroxad in raspberry spur blight control in the field was determined. The isolates tested in this study showed different sensitivity to fluxapyroxad in vitro. The EC50 values of total number of isolates tested were ranged from 0.82 to 5.92 mu gml(-1). The ranges of EC50 values for the isolates varied between the localities where the isolates originated from and also the year of isolation. The mean EC50 values in the group of isolates obtained in 2013 were 1.95 mu gml(-1)+/- 0.81 (0.82 to 4.05 mu gml(-1)), while the EC50 values for those isolated in 2017 were ranged from 1.16 to 5.78 mu gml(-1) (mean=3.24 mu gml(-1)+/- 1.38). The efficacy trials were conducted during 2017 and 2018 in a commercial raspberry field at two locations in western part of Serbia. Applied in both concentration rates 0.02 and 0.03% of the formulated product (0.006 and 0.009% of a.i.), fluxapyroxad showed a very high efficacy in spur blight control in practical condition.

AB - Sensitivity of 24 isolates of Colletotrichum destructivum O'Gara, collected from alfalfa plants in Serbia, to eight selected fungicides, was investigated in this study. Molecular identification and pathogenicity test of isolates tested were also performed. Fungicide sensitivity was evaluated in vitro, using mycelial growth assay method. All isolates exhibited significant pathogenicity, causing necrosis at the alfalfa seedling root tips two days after inoculation. Using the primer pair GSF1-SR1 and by comparing the amplified fragments of the tested isolates with the marker (M), the presence of the amplicon of the expected size of about 900 bp was determined for all isolates. The isolates tested in this study showed different sensitivity towards fungicides in vitro. Mycelial growth was highly inhibited by QoI (quinone outside inhibitors) fungicide pyraclostrobin (mean EC50=0.39 mu g mL(-1)) and by DMI (demethylation-inhibiting) fungicide tebuconazole (mean EC50=0.61 mu g mL(-1)), followed by azoxystrobin (mean EC50=2.83 mu g mL(-1)) and flutriafol (mean EC50=2.11 mu g mL(-1)). Multi-site fungicide chlorothalonil and MBC (methyl benzimidazole carbamate) fungicide thiophanate-methyl evinced moderate inhibition with mean EC50=35.31 and 62.83 mu g mL(-1), respectively. Thirteen isolates were sensitive to SDHI (succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors) fungicide boscalid and fluxapyroxad, (mean EC50=0.49 and 0.19 mu g mL(-1), respectively), while the rest of isolates were highly resistant.

AB - Economically the most important diseases that occur on grapevine are causal agent of downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola ((Berk. &. Curt.) Berl. & de Toni), causal agent of powdery mildew (Erysiphe necator (Schw.) Burrill) and causal agent of gray decay (Botrytis cinerea Pers.). A large number of registered fungicides for control of these phytopathogens in Serbia is at the same time an indicator of their spread and harmfulness. For the control of downy mildew in Serbia are registered 121 preparation based 36 active ingredients, while for the control of powdery mildew are registered 56 preparations based on 25 active ingredients, and for the suppression of gray mold 14 preparations based on 9 active ingredients. The aim of this study was to display the registered fungicides for suppression of before mentioned, economically important pathogens of grapevine (downy mildew, powdery mildew and gray mold), as well as the basic measures for anti-resistant strategies, considering that all three pathogens, as well as most fungicides used for their suppression, belong to groups of high risk for resistance developement.
& Curt.) Berl. & de Toni), pepelnica (prouzrokovač Erysiphe necator (Schw.) Burrill) i siva trulež (prouzrokovač Botrytis cinerea Pers.).

AB - During the season 2017., biological efficacy of several different fungicides in blueberry protection from gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), was performed. The trials were conducted in conventional blueberry orchards at the locality of Šutci (Ljig) and Orašac (Aranđelovac) on varieties Duke and Draper. The experiments were performed as a randomized block system in four replications. The application of fungicides was carried out using the back sprayer, and a total of three treatments were performed, starting from the growth stage of flowering (more than 50% of open flowers BBCH 65), until seven days prior to harvest (BBCH 85). The assessment was performed by sampling 100 fruit from each variant tested, 10 and 20 days after last treatment (two assessments on both sites tested). Fruits were stored in the cold chamber and the severity of disease was evaluated after obvious differences between treated variants and control occurred. At the location of Šutci (Ljig) the severity of gray mold in untreated (control) was 27% during the first and 20.3% in the second assessment, while at the location of Orašac (Aranđelovac) severity of the disease was 23.3% in the first and 24.5% in the second assessment. The highest efficacy in both locaties and in both assessments was observed for the combination of active substances fluopyram+trifloxystrobin. High efficacy was registered for boscalid and the combination of pyraclostrobin+boscalid and cyprodinil+fludioxonil (80.6- 89.2%). Moderate efficacy was achieved using cyprodinil (60.5 - 65.6%) while fenhexamid exhibited significantly higher efficacy in the first (about 71%) than in second assessment (19.8 - 33.7%).

AB - Efficacy trials of four multi-site fungicides (copper hydroxide, mancozeb, chlorothalonil and dithianon), as well as six fungicides with specific modes of action (fluopyram, boscalid, fluazinam, tebuconazole, azoxystrobin and pyraclostrobin) in raspberry spur blight (Didymella applanata) control were carried out in the seasons 2014 and 2016. The experiments were conducted as a randomized block design with four replicates in a commercial raspberry orchard in the locality Trešnjevica (Arilje) in western Serbia. All fungicides were applied preventively, four times until the beginning of harvest and once after harvest. The effects of the products tested were assessed three weeks after the last fungicide application according to the intensity of cane infection. Disease severity in control (untreated) plots were 53.7 (2014) and 76.3% (2016). In both years, the highest efficacy was achieved by tebuconazole (96.3 and 99.6%), followed by fluopyram (95.7 and 99.3%) and boscalid (94.7 and 95.9%). The broad-spectrum multi-site fungicides mancozeb, chlorothalonil, copper hydroxide and dithianon were effective against D. applanata and they reduced disease severity significantly, in comparison with the untreated plots. The efficacy of these compounds was between 64.4 and 81.7%. Conversely, azoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, and fluazinam showed very low efficacy (13.7-37.8%) in control of raspberry spur blight.

AB - During the season 2016, the biological efficacy of contact fungicides in apple protection from the apple scab, caused by fungus Venturia inaequalis, was performed. The experiments were conducted in an experimental orchard at the location of OŠD Radmilovac (cv Idared) and commercial orchard on the location of Krćevac (Topola) (cv Mucu). The trials were performed as a randomized block system in four repetitions (EPPO, 2012). Fungicide treatments were performed using knap sprayer type Solo 423, with 1000 l ha-1 of suspension consumption. A total of seven treatment, starting from the growth stages of ''mouse ear'' (BBCH 54), were done.Favorable agro-meteorological conditions have resulted in the significant disease incidence in control (untreated) plots. At the site of the OŠD Radmilovac the intensity of disease determined in control plots was 28.4% on the leaves, and 7.3% on fruits, while on the locality of Krćevac, diseases occurrence on the leaves and fruits was 91.5% and 7.9%, respectively. Application of multi-site fungicides resulted in good efficacy of mancozeb (87.4 to 100%), dithianon (83.1 to 100%), metiram (86.6 to 95.3%) and captan (89.8 to 100%), respectively.

AB - During the 2016 growing season, biological efficacy of fungicides mixture propamocarb hydrochloride + chlorothalonil, metalaxyl-M + mancozeb and metalksil-M + chlorothalonil in the control of downy mildew in pea crop (Peronospora viciae), was investigated. The experiments were conducted in the localities of Sakule and Glogonj. The experiments were carried out as randomized block system in four replications EPPO (EPPO, 1997). Two fugicide applications were conducted , one at the beginning of flowering (BBCH 61) (1st treatment), and second at the stage when 10% of pods reached typical size (BBCH 71) (2nd treatment). Favorable conditions resulted in significant disease intensity on untreated plots, which amounted from 19.9 to 24.8% in the first, and from 32.3 to 44.5% in the second assessment. Fungicide mixture propamocarb-hydrochloride + chlorothalonil exhibited efficacy ranging from 92.7-93.9% at the first and from 85.5 to 91.9% at the second assessment. Fungicide metalaxyl-M + mancozeb, reached the efficacy of 93.1-95.4% at the first, and 86.3-93.2% at the second assessment, while the highest efficacy was achieved by a combination metalaxyl-M + chlorothalonil, which ranged from 86.9 to 100% at the first, and from 86.9 to 95.3% at the second assessment.

AB - Field isolates of Didymella applanata, the causal agent of spur blight of raspberry, were evaluated in vitro for their sensitivity to mancozeb, chlorothalonil, captan, fluopyram, boscalid and difenoconazole. A total of 10 isolates, collected during 2013 at five localities in the major raspberry growing region in Serbia, and characterized as copper hydroxide, dithianon, and tebuconazole (sensitive), pyraclostrobin (sensitive or highly resistant) and fluazinam (sensitive or moderately resistant), were used in this study. The EC50 values for the isolates ranged from 1.33 to 2.88mg L-1 for mancozeb, from 3.18 to 6.65mg L-1 for chlorothalonil, from 15.75 to 24.69mg L-1 for captan and from 1.80 to 8.20mg L-1 for fluopyram. The narrowest range of EC50 values was recorded for difenoconazole (0.23-0.49mg L-1), whereas the widest range was obtained for boscalid (4.49-49.25mg L-1). The calculated resistance factors showed that all D. applanata isolates were sensitive to mancozeb, chlorothalonil, captan, and difenoconazole. Four isolates were moderately resistant to boscalid, while three of them were also moderately resistant to fluopyram. This finding of moderately resistant isolates to these SDHI fungicides indicates a possible cross-resistance which should be clarified in further investigations.

AB - A study of the in vitro sensitivity of 10 isolates of Didymella applanata to copper hydroxide, dithianon, fluazinam, tebuconazole and pyraclostrobin, was conducted. The isolates were derived from diseased raspberry canes sampled during 2013 at five localities in western part of Serbia, known as the main raspberry growing region of the country. Prior to sensitivity testing experimental conditions for radial growth assay were optimized. The results showed that the temperature of 22 degrees C, oatmeal agar medium and 12/12 hrs light/ darkness light regimen provided the best conditions for sensitivity tests. Most of D. applanata isolates were sensitive to the tested fungicides. The narrowest range of EC50 values was recorded for tebuconazole (1.42-2.66mg L-1). The widest range of EC50 values was obtained for pyraclostrobin, ranging from 0.17mg L-1 to 55.33mg L-1. The EC50 values for the studied isolates were 39.48-51.19mg L-1 for copper hydroxide, 12.12-18.73mg L-1 for dithianon and 5.72-42.56mg L-1 for fluazinam. According to resistance factor values, all D. applanata isolates were sensitive to copper hydroxide, dithianon and tebuconazole. Among tested isolates, six were highly resistant to pyraclostrobin (RFs in the range of 207.1-325.5) and two moderately resistant to fluazinam (RFs were 3 and 7.4), respectively.

abstract = "A study of the in vitro sensitivity of 10 isolates of Didymella applanata to copper hydroxide, dithianon, fluazinam, tebuconazole and pyraclostrobin, was conducted. Among tested isolates, six were highly resistant to pyraclostrobin (RFs in the range of 207.1-325.5) and two moderately resistant to fluazinam (RFs were 3 and 7.4), respectively.",

AB - Raspberry spur blight, caused by Didymella applanta, poses a serious problem in the production of this most significant berry fruit in Serbia. Success in the prevention of the disease occurrence and development depends mainly on the biology of the pathogen, disease epidemiology and the relationship between the parasite and the host plant. The use of control measures that prevent damages is based on the comprehensive knowledge of all factors contributing to the disease development. Present knowledge about the causal agent, and its morphological, ecological and epidemiological characteristics are systematized in the paper. Infection process, symptom development, as well as the control possibilities of this phytopathogenic fungus, are thoroughly discussed.
AB - Kestenjasta pegavost izdanaka maline, koju prouzrokuje fitopatogena gljiva Didymella applanata, predstavlja veliki problem u proizvodnji ove najznačajnije jagodaste voćke u Srbiji.

Aphis pomi (De Geer) has developed resistance to organophosphate and carbamate insecticides, as a result of long-term application of these insecticides in conventional apple orchards. For many years, the only mechanism of resistance identified in aphids was overproduction of insecticide-detoxifying esterases. Materials and methods. Insecticide resistance of A. pomi, collected from two conventional apple orchards (localities of Radmilovac-RA and Bela Crkva-BC) and one organic apple orchard (locality of Surcin-SU), was tested by bioassays and biochemical assays. Results and discussion. Compared with LC50 values for the susceptible population (organic orchard), both populations from the conventional orchards were highly resistant to pirimicarb (234.5 and 52.9 times) and moderately resistant to dimethoate (10.7 and 9.0 times). Increased esterase activity was determined in these two resistant aphid populations. Each of them also produced one esterase isoform more than the susceptible population, when 1-naphthyl acetate was used as a substrate for zymographic detection; when 2-naphthyl acetate was used as a substrate, only one resistant population produced two new esterase isoforms. In one of the resistant populations acetylcholinesterase (AChE) was significantly less inhibited by pirimicarb than in the other resistant population and the susceptible population, which indicates that this population developed another resistance mechanism-Modification of AChE (MACE). Conclusion. Detoxification of insecticides by the metabolic resistance mechanism of esterase enzymes and mechanism of modification of AChE was proven in one aphid population (RA). The other population (BC) has developed only metabolic resistance (enhanced metabolism by esterases), without modification of the insecticide target site (AChE). Development of insecticide resistance was caused by long-term application of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (organophosphates and carbamates) in these conventional orchards.

AB - Sensitivity of monosporial isolates of V. inaequalis, originated from apple orchards previously exposed (commercial and experimental) and those originated from location where fungicides had never been used (wild type), to strobilurin fungicides kresoxim-methyl and trifloxistrobin was investigated in this study. The experiments were carried out in laboratory using in vitro and in vivo methods. Mycelia growth inhibition on PDA medium with kresoxim-methyl and trifloxistrobin was monitored and sensitivity parameters (EC50 values) were determined using probit analysis. The isolates sensitivity in vivo was tested on apple seedlings using inoculation method. The EC50 values were ranging from 0.066-2.033 and 0.011-0.323 mu g mL(-1) for kresoxim-methyl and trifloxistrobin, respectively. The wild type of isolates showed a normal susceptibility to kresoxim-methyl and trifloxistrobin, while isolates originated from experimental and commercial orchard where those fungicides had been used extensively, showed significantly lower sensitivity to the both strobilurin fungicides. The isolate that showed the resistance to kresoxim-methyl and trifloxistrobin in vitro test, also showed reduced sensitivity in vivo test and could not been controlled satisfactory by fungicide concentrations that are commercially used, as well as by double higher, after apple seedlings inoculation.

AB - In 2012, the biological effi cacy of the fungicide mixture pyraclostrobin + boscalid (Signum®, BASF ) in the control of two economically most important disease of lettuce, gray mold (B. cinerea ) and downy mildew (B. lactucae ), was tested. The experiments were conducted at the location of Belgrade (Ledine, Iceberg, salat center), and Smederevska Palanka (Experimental fi eld of the Institute of Vegetable Crops), by type of randomized block design with four replications (EPPO, 1997). Fungicide application was performed by a sprayer SOLO 423 with consumption of 400 l of water ha-1. A fungicide Signum®, (a.i. pyraclostrobin + boscalid) was applied in a dosage of 1.5 kg ha-1 and was carried out a total of four treatments of the growth stages starting when the plants had developed three leaves (BBCH 13). As the standard products at both locations the fungicide Sumilex SC 50 (a. i. procymidone), in the case of B. cinerea, and Ridomil MZ (a.i. metalaxyl + mancozeb), in the case of for downy mildew, were used. After manifesting clear distinguish between treated and untreated (control) plots, assessment of disease severity (60 plants per plot) and efficiency of fungicides were calculated. The fungicide mixture pyraclostrobin + boscalid, tested in this study, showed a high efficacy against downy mildew of lettuce, which amounted to 93.6 % (Location: Belgrade - Ledine) and 97.4 % (site: Smederevska Palanka) respectively. The effi ciency of the tested fungicide combination of suppression of gray mold was 92.5 % (location: Belgrade - Ledine) and 93.5 % (site: Smederevska Palanka), respectively.
AB - U toku 2012. godine, vršena su ispitivanja biološke efi kasnosti kombinacije fungicida piraklostrobin + boskalid (Signum®, BASF) u suzbijanju dve ekonomski najvažnije bolesti salate, sive truleži (Botrytis cinerea) i plamenjače (Bremia lactucae).

AB - Apple scab caused by Venturia inaequalis (Cooke) G. Winter is recognized as the most important disease of apples in Serbia. Fungicides remain the primary tool for managing this disease and, due to its polycyclic nature; repeated applications are required over the course of a single season. During 2004-2010 we have conducted many trials for evaluation of chemical control of this disease. The following compounds were tested: pyraclostrobin + dithianon, trifloxystrobin + captan, kresoximmethyl + dithianon, difenoconazole, pirimethanil, boscalid + pyraclostrobin, pyrimethanil + fluquinconazol and fenbuconazole. Trials were set according to EPPO guideline PP 1/5(3). A complete randomized block design with four replicates per treatment was used in the experiments. Mean percent disease control values were calculated from the evaluations made towards the end of the trials, when differentiation between the treatments was the most obvious. Data were analysed by one-way completely randomized ANOVA, and means comparison performed by Duncan's test. The infection of untreated control plots ranged from 23.0% to 77.5%. All treatments were effective against V. ineaqualis and significantly reduced disease severity in all experiments, compared with the untreated control. Comparing the tested fungicides, pyrimethanil applied alone and mixtures of trifloxystrobin + captan, kresoxim-methyl + dithianon, pyrimethanil + fluquinconazol and pyraclostrobin + dithianon demonstrated the highest efficacy in all trials (85.6%-97.2%). DMI fungicides (difenoconazole and fenbuconazole) and mixture of boscalid + pyraclostrobin exhibited lower efficacy (68.5% - 75.1%) compared to other tested materials.

AB - The efficacy of mandipropamid (Revus 250 SC) in controlling Phytophthora infestans in potato was evaluated in field trials. The efficacies of Revus 250 SC in comparison with standard fungicides Quadris (azoxystrobin) were tested in several localities in Serbia (Kasarske Livade, Valjevska Kamenica and Opovo) in 2007 and 2008. Both of the tested fungicides exhibited high efficacy in controlling potato late blight. The differencies in the efficacy of Revus 250 SC (96.3- 99.2%) and Quadris (94.1-95.5%) were insignificant. Our experiments showed that the investigated fungicide was highly effective against P. infestans even under high disease pressure.

Mycellia growth inhibition on growth medium was monitored and susceptibility parameters were determined using probit analysis. The EC50 values for benomyl were the highest, ranging from 123.1 to 901.5 μg/ kg, followed by iprodione (125.9-301.4 μg/kg), trifloxystrobin (4.2-9.2 μg/kg), tebuconazole (14.2-41.8 μg/kg) and pyrimethanil (148.0-190.8 μg/kg). Natural M. laxa populations medium resistant to benomyl were established. The isolates tested showed a normal sensitivity to iprodione, trifloxystrobin, tebuconazole and pyrimethanil.

AB - Efficacy of a biological fungicide product, Polyversum™ (Pythium oligandrum Drechsler), in controlling grey mould of raspberries Botrytis cinerea Pers. was tested at sites around Valjevo, Požega and Šabac in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The experiments were conducted and data processed using EPPO methods. Efficacy was found to be significantly lower statistically in the experimental variants involving Polyversum™ biofungicide (E = 18.0%-53.9%) than the standard botricide Ronilan- DF (E = 56.6%-90.3%). Our results show that the biological product Polyversum™ achieved significant efficacy, although poorer than the standard fungicide Ronilan-DF. As it is a biological product almost entirely free of any toxicological and ecotoxicological limitations, it offers a significant advantage for widespread usage in plant protection.
