Control of the proteolytic processes in ensiled feeds

AB  - The review of the problem of the proteolysis in ensiled feeds is given in the paper, and the means of its effective control. Very intensive proteolysis in ensiled material is an outcome of non-coordinated effects of proteolytic enzymes originating from plant cells and present microorganisms. The result of these unwelcome processes is the increase of the soluble and degradable protein content, decrease in protein utilization and lower animal production. This problem is specially evident and significant in leguminous silages. Modern methods for proteolysis control are based on the stimulation and induction of homofermentative lactic acid fermentation in order to rapidly obtain the required pH value, also on direct acidification with organic acids and wilting of the ensiling material until the level of moisture which is unsuitable for proteolytic enzyme’s activity.
AB  - U radu je u vidu pregleda prikazan problem proteolize u silažama leguminoza i načini njene efikasne kontrole. Veoma intenzivna proteoliza u siliranom materijalu je posledica nekoordisanog delovanja proteolitičih enzima poreklom iz biljnih ćelija i prisutnih mikroorganizama. Rezultat ovih nepoželjnih procesa jeste porast količine rastvorljivih i razgradivih proteina, slabije korišćenje proteina i smanjenje proizvodnje. Ovaj problem je posebno izražen i značajan za silaže leguminoza. Savremeni postupci za kontrolu proteolize baziraju se pre svega na stimulaciji i indukciji homofermentativne mlečne fermentacije u cilju brzog postizanja optimalnih pH vrednosti, direktnoj acidifikaciji organskim kiselinama i provenjavanju siliranog materijala do nivoa vlage nepogodnog za delatnost proteolitičkih enzima.

Influence of min-a-zel plus and maize meal addition on the quality of lucerne silage

AB  - The influence of mineral adsorbent Min-A-Zel Plus (5 g/kg) and maize meal (25 and 50 g/kg) used alone or combined, on chemical composition, biochemical changes and quality of lucerne silage was investigated. Based on the obtained data, it can be concluded that addition of Min-A-Zel Plus reduces aminogenesis, while the use of maize meal alone or with zeolite favorable conditions are achieved for lactic acid fermentation, so that the quality of obtained silages is better by one quality class. To achieve better effects of silage quality, the use of combination of mineral adsorbent with carbohydrate additives is recommended.
AB  - U radu je ispitivan uticaj mineralnog adsorbenta Min-A-Zel-a Plus (5g/kg), i kukuruzne prekrupe (25 i 50 g/kg), korišćenih pojedinačno ili u međusobnim kombinacijama na hemijski sastav, biohemijske promene i kvalitet silaža lucerke. Statistički model ogleda je bio slučajan plan a svaki tretman je rađen u tri ponavljanja. Na osnovu utvrđenih podataka zaključuje se da dodavanjem Min-A-Zel-a-Plus dolazi do redukcije aminogeneze, a pri korišćenju kukuruzne prekrupe u čistom vidu ili u kombinaciji sa zeolitom do favorizovanja mlečnokiselinskog vrenja i postizanja kvaliteta silaža boljeg za jednu klasu. U cilju postizanja većeg efekta na kvalitet silaže preporučuje se kombinovanje mineralnih adsorbenata na bazi zeolita sa ugljenohidratnim dodacima.

The influence of zeolite on the quality of fresh beet pulp silages

AB  - The influence of different doses of natural zeolite addition on chemical composition and quality of beet pulp silages was investigated. Beet pulp was ensiled in the sugar factory in Požarevac immediately after they were obtained, or after 9 or 17 days. The two-factorial trial was conducted where the first factor (A) was the time of ensiling expressed in days after the pulp was obtained (a1= O; a2 = 9; a3 = 17), while the second factor (B) was the amount of zeolite added (b1= 0; b2 = 0.05; b3 = 0.25 and b4 = 1.25% in dry matter or 0; 50; 250 and 1250 g zeolite per 100 kg of raw beet pulp). Sample collection for standard chemical composition and quality estimation was taken 60 days after the beginning of the ensiling. The results from the literature show that adding technologically processed natural zeolite (Min-a-Zel, produced by ITNMS, Belgrade) while ensiling beet pulp has significant influence on the increase of lactic acid production, decrease in bonded acetic acid content and lower pH value. The influence of explained doses of zeolite on standard chemical composition is smaller and mostly of relative value. The only real changes in chemical composition are the increase in dry matter and mineral content. In the ensiling of the beet pulp stored in the longer period of time, the more intensive fermentation processes were achieved and the production of organic acids was larger which has better conserving effects on silage.
AB  - U ogledu je ispitivan uticaj dodavanja različitih doza prirodnog zeolita na hemijski sastav i kvalitet silaža spremljenih od repinih rezanaca. Rezanci su silirani u fabrici šećera u Požarevcu, odmah po dobijanju ili posle 9 i 17 dana. Ogled je postavljen kao dvofaktorijalni, gde je prvi faktor (A) bio vreme siliranja, izraženo u danima po dobijanju rezanaca (a1 = 0; a2 = 9 i a3 = 17 dana), a drugi faktor (B) količina zeolita (b1 = 0; b2 = 0,05; b3 = 0,25 i b4 = 1,25% u odnosu na suvu materuju, odnosno, 0; 50; 250 i 1250 g zeolita na 100 kg sirovih rezanaca. Uzimanje uzoraka za utvrđivanje standardne hemijske analize i parametara kvaliteta silaža obavljeno je 60 dana po siliranju. Rezultati obavljenih istraživanja pokazuju da dodavanje tehnološki obrađenog prirodnog zeolita (Min-a-Zel, proizvod ITNMS, Beograd) pri siliranju repinih rezanaca signifikantno utiče na povećanje produkcije mlečne kiseline, smanjenje sadržaja vezane sirćetne kiseline i smanjenje pH vrednosti. Uticaj navedenih doza zeolita na standardni hemijski sastav je bio neznatan. Jedine promene količine pojedinih materija su povećanje stepena suve materije i količine mineralnog ostatka. Pri siliranju repinih rezanaca koji su duže stajali na depou postižu se intenzivniji fermentacioni procesi i dobija se veća ukupna količina organskih kiselina koje imaju konzervišuće dejstvo za silažu.

Influence of Min-a-zel Plus on biochemical, microbiological and mycotoxicological parameters of lucerne silage

AB  - Lucerne of the 5th cut in the budding phase was ensiled in the experiment as fresh and wilted (DM= 220 and 360 g/kg), with two degrees of compression (520 and 380 g/dm3) and with added Min-a-zel plus as 2 g/kg green mass. The experiment was performed as the statistical model 2K. 	Min-a-zel plus used as 2 g/kg green mass had no influence on biochemical, microbiological and mycotoxicological parameters of lucerne silage. Compared to the beginning material, silages had more diverse microflora and more mycotoxins. All silages had high pH values and fermentation of the acetic acid type. Some improvement was achieved with wilting of the ensiling material. The least quality (V class) was obtained with fresh lucerne, which was less compressed, while others were ranked as IV quality class. 	The obtained results fortify the need for further investigations in developing correct doses of Min-a-zel plus to be used in ensiling of lucerne and other materials.
AB  - U eksperimentu je silirana lucerka V otkosa u fazi butonizacije kao sveža i provenula (SM = 220 i 360 g/kg), sa dva stepena sabijenosti (520 i 380 g/dm3) i sa dodatkom Min-a-zela Plus, 2 g/kg zelene mase. Ogled je postavljen po statističkom modelu 2K. Min-a-zel Plus korišćen u dozi od 2 g/kg zelene mase nije uticao na biohemijske, mikrobiološke i mikotoksikološke parametre silaža lucerke. U odnosu na početni materijal silaže su sadržale raznovrsniju mikrofloru i veću količinu mikotoksina. Sve silaže su se odlikovale visokim pH vrednostima i fermentacijom sirćetnokiselinskog tipa. Izvesno poboljšanje je postignuto provenjavanjem biljnog materijala. Najlošiji kvalitet (V klasa) imale su silaže od sveže lucerke sa manjim stepenom sabijenosti, dok su ostale ocenjene IV klasom kvaliteta. Utvrđeni rezultati ukazuju na neophodnost nastavljanja ispitivanja u cilju utvrđivanja optimalne doze Min-a-zela Plus za siliranje lucerke i drugih sirovina.

With processed such as wilting, fermentation stimulation with carbohydrate additives and direct acidification the process of protheolysis is limited. The result is high quality feed which is excellent and cheap protein source in the dairy cow diets, with necessary energy feed supplements.
AB  - U radu su prikazani problemi koji nastaju pri korišćenju silaže lucerke, a odnose se na povećanu rastvorljivost i razgradivost proteina. Provejavanjem, stimulisanjem fermentacije ugljenohidratnim dodacima i bakterijama mlečne kiseline, ili direktnom acidifikacijom ograničava se intenzitet proteolize. Time se dobija kvalitetno hranivo koje je dobar i jeftin izvor proteina u obrocima za krave.

Quality of beet pulp silages with added zeolite

AB  - The influence of natural zeolite on chemical composition and quality of silages prepared from beet pulp was investigated. Beet pulp was ensiled in the sugar producing factory in Požarevac 17 days after their production. The amount of zeolite added was 0; 0,05; 0,25 and 1,25% of dry matter or 0; 50 250 and 1250 g zeolite per 100 kg of beet pulp. The obtained results show that adding technologically processed zeolite (under the name Min-A-Zel produced by ITNMS - Belgrade) while ensiling beet pulp has influenced more intensive fermentation and increased production of lactic and acetic acid production, with lower pH values and favorable ratio of lactic and total acids. The influence of mentioned doses of zeolite on standard chemical analysis was less pronounced and it is mostly of relative nature. The only real changes occurred as the increase of dry matter and mineral content. The use of zeolite even with material with sufficient fermentable sugars induces more intensive lactic acid bacteria activity since more favorable conditions for lactic acid fermentation.
AB  - U ogledu je ispitivan uticaj prirodnog zeolita na hemijski sastav i kvalitet silaža spremljenih od repinih rezanaca. Rezanci su silirani u Fabrici šećera u Požarevcu, 17 dana po dobijanju. Količina dodatog zeolita je bila 0; 0,05 0,25 i 1,25% u odnosu na suvu materiju, odnosno 0; 50; 250 i 1250 g zeolita na 100 kg sirovih rezanaca. Rezultati obavljenih istraživanja pokazuju da dodavanje tehnološki obrađenog prirodnog zeolita (pod nazivom Min-A-Zel proizvod ITNMS -Beograd) pri siliranju repinih rezanaca utiče na intenziviranje fermentacije i povećanje produkcije mlečne i sirćetne kiseline, uz postizanje nižih pH vrednosti i povoljnijeg odnosa mlečne prema ukupnim kiselinama. Uticaj navedenih doza zeolita na standardni hemijski sastav je bio manji, i pretežno je relativnog karaktera. Jedine realne promene količine pojedinih materija su povećanje udela suve materije i povećanje količine mineralnog ostatka. Upotreba zeolita i u materijalu sa dovoljnom količinom fermentabilnih šećera doprinosi intenziviranju aktivnosti bakterija mlečne kiseline, jer se obezbeđuju pogodniji uslovi za fermentaciju mlečnokiselinskog tipa.

Effects of bacterial-enzyme inoculant on chemical composition and quality of lucerne and potato silage

AB  - Ensiling of lucerne of the second cut at the beginning of flowering, with or without bacterial-enzyme preparation (inoculant) Sill-All (produced by Alltech Inc.) was done in experimental silos. Raw and boiled potato was used as the carbohydrate additive at the amount of 30% of fresh lucerne mass. The experiment was organised as two-factorial (2 x 3, n=3), where factor A was inoculant (a1 = without inoculant, a2 = with inoculant), and factor V was the type of the carbohydrate additive (b1 = alfalfa without additives-control, b2 = alfalfa + raw potato, b3 = alfalfa + boiled potato). Experimental silos were opened after 60 days and parameters of chemical composition and silage quality were examined, AOAC, 1984. Obtained results were evaluated by analyses of variance using Tukey's test of significance, Snedecor and Cochran, 1982. The use of Sill-All inoculant significantly decreased of the crude fibre content, and on reduced synthesis of lactic, acetic and butyric acid. Heat processing of potato inactivated undesirable micro flora and achieved partial starch gelatinisation. As a result treatments with boiled potato had the lowest pH values, and the level of ammonia and soluble nitrogen. At the same time, they had the highest amount of lactic acid. Treatments with raw potato showed the lowest silage quality, therefore this kind of additive is not recommendable for practical use.
AB  - U eksperimentu je ispitivan uticaj bakterijsko-enzimskog inokulanta Sill-All-a na hemijski sastav i kvalitet silaža lucerke, sa sirovim ili kuvanim krompirom kao ugljenohidratnim dodatkom. U ukupno šest ispitivanih tretmana sa po tri ponavljanja ustanovljeno je da je pod uticajem korišćenog biološkog dodatka došlo do značajnog smanjenja količine sirove celuloze, kao i do redukcije sinteze mlečne, sirćetne i buterne kiseline. Termičkom obradom krompira inaktivirana je nepoželjna mikroflora i podstaknuto razlaganje skroba, što je doprinelo postizanju nižih pH vrednosti, većoj sintezi mlečne kiseline i manjem intenzitetu proteolize.

AB  - The effects of high air temperatures and high relative air humidity (from the beginning of May till the end of September) on feeding behavior of cows, milk production and milk fat, were observed in black-pied breed on seven farms in the vicinity of Belgrade during three summers (1997-1999). Green mass (produced in conveyer) in the amount of 20-25 kg a day per cow was a base for the cow feeding ratio. The other part of the ratio consisted of whole maize plant silage (30-35% DM, 10-12 kg), alfalfa hay (1-2 kg), dry beet pulp (2 kg) and concentrate (15% crude protein, 0.25 kg kg-1 milk). Cows were kept in open stables, while water was given at libitum. High environmental temperatures (above 21oC, especially those higher than 26oC) and high air humidity lowered daily intakes of feeds and reduced milk production. The poorer isolation of stables from the direct exposure to sun was, the higher negative effects were.
AB  - Tokom tri letnje sezone (1997-1999) na sedam farmi Korporacije PKB u Pančevačkom Ritu, na kojima se gaje krave crno-bele rase, praćen je uticaj visokih temperatura i relativne vlažnosti vazduha (od početka maja do kraja septembra) na hranidbeno ponašanje krava, proizvodnju i masnoću mleka. Osnovu ishrane krava činio je zeleni konvejer: uljana repica (maj), ozima mešavina (maj i juni), jara mešavina (juni), zelena lucerka i sirak (juli-septembar) i to u količini od 20-25 kg zelene mase po kravi dnevno. AB  - Quality and nutritive value of silages prepared from various feeds are their basic characteristics. various feeds, produced as forage or as significant byproducts of agricultural and food production could be conserved by the process of ensiling. Problems pertaing to high moisture content, high buffer value, inadequate content of crude protein or low digestibility can be solved with a properly chosen ensiling technique or additives, which were observed in numerous investigations in the country or abroad. Silage made in such a way are of better quality and nutritive value, and can be efficiently used as the main part of the diet for dairy cows.
AB  - U radu su prikazane osnovne karakteristike silaža različitih hraniva vezano za njihov kvalitet i hranljive vrednosti. Postupkom siliranja mogu se konzervisati raznorodna hraniva, koja se gaje kao krmne kulture ili količinski predstavljaju važne sporedne proizvode poljoprivrede i prehrambene industrije. Problemi u vezi visoke vlažnosti, velike puferne vrednosti, nedovoljne zastupljenosti sirovih proteina ili male svarljivosti rešavaju se primenom različitih postupaka i dodataka, koji su rezultat brojnih domaćih i stranih istraživanja. Tako spremljene silaže imaju znatno bolji kvalitet i hranljivu vrednost, pa se efikasno koriste kao osnovni deo obroka za krave u laktaciji.

AB  - Different possibilities for annual legumes ensiling are presented in the paper. Due to their high yields and chances of their planting as winter, spring or stubble crops, annual legumes have a high potential for the production of cheap and quality green fodder or silage. the better protein to carbohydrate ratio is achieved by mixing them with cereals, which is very important not only for better quality of fermentation during the ensiling process, but also, for balanced ration of ruminants. Annual legumes may be successfully ensiled as the single crop by applying chemical preserving agents or by fermentation stimulated by carbohydrate additives and inoculants.
AB  - U radu su izložene različite mogućnosti siliranja jednogodišnjih leguminoza. Zbog visokih prinosa i mogućnosti setve kao ozimih, jarih i postrnih useva, jednogodišnje leguminoze predstavljaju značajan potencijal za proizvodnju jeftine i kvalitetne stočne hrane u zelenom stanju, ili za seno i silažu. Setvom u smeši sa žitaricama postiže se povoljniji odnos proteina i ugljenih hidrata, što je važno ne samo za kvalitetniju fermentaciju pri siliranju, već i radi postizanja bolje izbalansiranosti obroka za preživare. U čistom vidu jednogodišnje leguminoze se mogu uspešno silirati uz primenu hemijskih konzervanasa, ili stimulacijom fermentacije ugljenohidratnim dodacima i inokulantima.

AB  - In this work the results about fattening young bulls along with influence different factors were exposed. Especially, the basic factors binding with success of fattening young bulls (different starting and final weights, sex, composite of diet) are given. The results binding with growth, composite of tissue, increasing of proteins and fat with different final weights at butcher are especially given. .
AB  - U radu su izloženi brojni rezultati u oblasti tova junadi uz uticaj različitih faktora. Posebno su istaknuti osnovni faktori od kojih u velikom stepenu zavisi uspeh tova (različite početne i završne telesne mase junadi, polna pripadnost grla, sastav obroka). U domenu efekata posebno su izneti rezultati vezani za prirast, sastav tkiva, povećanja proteina i masti pri različitim telesnim masama pri klanju i td.

AB  - The productivity of cows are along with genetic parameters significantly influenced by the animals diet. The feeding has large influence on the milk yield but also on its composition. The recommendations are that there have to be 13-15% crude fiber in the diet which enables the high percent of milk fat. In high productive animals higher amount of concentrates in the diet is required. Usage of additional concentrate mixture enables better diet balancing. Relatively low amount of hay with good quality silage or fresh green forage with the appropriate concentrate mixture enables good and economic production and full realization of cows genetic potentials. Special care should be paid to feed and feeding in dairy production. .
AB  - Proizvodnost krava u domenu mleka je uslovljena brojnim faktorima (rasom grla, starošću, kondicijom, stepenom laktacije, ali veoma izraženo i nivoom ishrane, sastavom obroka i prisustvom pojedinih hraniva u njemu). Pojedinačna hraniva uglavnom ne mogu da ispune sve zahteve i da obezbede potrebe grla, čak ni za nisku proizvodnost. Sastav mleka je uslovljen i navedenim faktorima ali se genetska vrednost ne može ispoljiti bez odgovarajuće ishrane. .
