AB  - The effect of year on grain yield and certain yield components essential for wheat yield's quality depends on agro-ecological conditions of the growing area and applied agrotechnical measures. A two-year experiment was conducted at six locations: Kikinda, Novi Sad, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Kruševac and Požarevac, using the block system, in four replications. In this study, seven winter wheat commercial varieties obtained from several seed companies were evaluated. The highest total wheat grain yield was achieved by the variety NS 40 S (8.824 kg ha-1), followed by NS Renesansa (8.817 kg ha-1), i.e. PKB Imperija (8.343 kg ha-1), while the lowest grain yield of 7.564 kg ha-1 was achieved by the variety PKB Talas. The highest average 1000 grain weight was found at Sremska Mitrovica (35,12 g), followed by Požarevac (35,09 g), i.e. Pančevo (34,98 g), while the lowest 1000 grain weight of 34,25 g was evidenced at the Kruševac experimental site.
AB  - Uticaj godine na prinos zrna i neke osobine koje su bitne za kvalitetan prinos zrna pšenice zavise od agroekoloških uslova reona gajenja i primenjenih agrotehničkih mera. Kao materijal istraživanja korišćeno je sedam sorti iz više selekcionih kuća, a nalaze se u širokoj proizvodnji. Ogledi su postavljeni na šest lokaliteta: Kikinda, Novi Sad, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Kruševac i Požarevac, u dve proizvodne godine, po blok sistemu sa četiri ponavljanja. Functional properties of wheat kernels (Triticumaestivum L.) during storage

AB  - The method of storage has, in the long run, a negative effect on the quality of wheat kernels, due to physiological ageing of its cells.The quality of the kernels was assessed during the storage, giving the predefined conditions - temperature 25 +/- 2 degrees C and the storage duration.Wheat kernel metabolites were studied during 12 and 24-month storage. Kernels of three commercial wheat cultivars - 'Simonida', 'Dragana' and 'Ljiljana', commonly grown in south-eastern Europe, were investigated. Comparing fresh samples to samples taken after 12 and 24 months of storage, it was recorded with an increase in dry matter (by 2.48% and 2.84%) and ash (by 4.09% and 15.25%), and a decrease in protein (by 8.96% and 19.81%), lipids (by 8.32% and 15.07%), starch (by 9.07% and 13.45%) and cellulose (by 22.12% and 26.35%). There were also changes in phenolics (10.51-11.82 mg GA/g). Flavonoid vitexin-glucoside (0.82-1.29 mg/g) and flavan-3-ol catechin (1.31-1.60 mg/g), total antioxidant potential and DPPH scavenging activity were not significantly different. Organic matter digestibility (OMD) decreased, but remained at 92%. These changes did not significantly affect key properties of the kernels, OMD and antioxidant activity, thus wheat kernels can be safely stored for 24 months.

Multivariate analysis of morphological traits and the most important productive traits of wheat in extreme wet conditions

AB  - In these studies, 14 winter wheat (Triticum aestivum ssp vulgare L.) genotypes were analyzed in three localities across the Republic of Serbia. Some morphological and the most important productive traits were analysed in order to determine the relationship between grain yield and these traits in the year with extreme wet conditions during period of intensive wheat development (April-June period). According to our results, period of stem extension, heading and grain filling characterized by lower air temperatures and extremely high rainfall at all three localities, had detrimental effects on the grain filling process. The genotypes KG-191/5-13 and KG-1/6 achieved above average values of the most desirable traits in all three localities, and can be singled out as desirable parents in breeding programs to create new and improved varieties of wheat. Based on the principal component analysis and cluster analysis, two groups of similar genotypes were distinguished. The highest degree of positive correlation was found between diameter of the first internode and diameter of top internode; number of spikelets per spike and number of fertile spikelets per spike; grain mass/spike and grain mass/plant; plant height and length of the top internode.

Effects of long-term fertilization on yield of siderates and organic matter content of soil in the process of recultivation

AB  - The aim of this research was to determine the possibility of increasing organic matter content in humusless deposol topsoil and forming of a more favourable adsorptive complex by introducing green manure. Green manure biomass came from these compound plant species: winter rye + common vetch, forage pea + rapeseed mustard and Sudan grass. Compound feed was sown on degraded soil (type deposol) of the Stanari coal mine. Applied cultivation practices included primary and secondary tillage and additional plant nutrition. Mineral fertilizers were applied: NPK 7:20:30 (400 kg ha(-1)) and CAN 27% (200 kg ha(-1)). One of the treatments included addition of bentonite clay as absorbent of nutrients. During intensive vegetation the growth of the green biomass was measured, the crops were harvested, cut and ploughed in deposol topsoil. Organic matter content in deposol was determined when soil samples were taken 6 months after green manure incorporation. The results show that the mineral fertilization of siderates significantly increased green biomass yield and Sudan grass gave two cuts, which positively affected the increase of organic matter content in soil.

Nutritional properties of Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals as a source of new genetic variability

AB  - Taking into account the better agro-ecological adaptations developed over time to climate changed conditions, cereal local populations (landraces) represent a valuable plant genetic resources with their perspective reflected in the creation of better quality commercial cereal genotypes. The objectives of this research were to explore: i) the genetic variability of nutritional properties of Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals-wheat, barley, oat, and rye; ii) associations among nutritional properties; iii) strength and weakness of landraces based on nutritional properties profiles. Collecting missions were carried out in 2013 year in different locations of rural areas at the territory of Republic of Macedonia. Ten sub-samples of 100 g seeds were extracted from each of regenerated landrace in order to obtain a well-balanced analytical sample. All samples were analysed for moisture content - MOI (%), protein content - PC (%), fat content - FC (%), crude fibre content CF (%), wet gluten content - WG (%), and dry gluten content - DG (%). In regard to assessed nutritional properties the most perspective landraces proved to be: Okalesta bela (CF of (x) over bar = 2.62%) of bread wheat; Zimski (WG of (x) over bar= 9.24%), Dabilski nizok (DG of (x) over bar = 4.2%) and Ednoreden (CF of (x) over bar = 5.18%) of barley; Sopski (PC of (x) over bar= 14.62%), Gabarski (FC of (x) over bar = 6.46%) and Sekulicki (CF of (x) over bar = 9.89%) of oat; Calakliski (PC of (x) over bar = 14.43%, CF of (x) over bar = 8.16%), Koselski (FC of (x) over bar= 4.19%), and Gabarski (DG of (x) over bar = 3.14%) of rye. The positive associations among nutritional properties of Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals were: all examined nutritional properties except PC and CF in bread wheat landraces; PC, WG, DG, MOI as one cluster, and FC and CF as another cluster in barley landraces; all examined nutritional properties except MOI and CF in oat landraces; PC, CF, FC as one cluster and DG and MOI as another cluster in rye landraces. The Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals proved to be new sources of genetic variability of nutritional properties which can be used in breeding, because they outperformed commercial check cultivar landraces with statistical significance (P  lt  0.05) for: MOI (4 landraces) and CF (4 landraces) for bread wheat; WG (Zimski), DG (3 landraces), CF (7 landraces) for barley; CF (5 landraces) for oat; DG (1 landrace), MOI (4 landraces), FC (4 landraces in rye).

The objectives of this research were to explore: i) the genetic variability of nutritional properties of Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals-wheat, barley, oat, and rye; ii) associations among nutritional properties; iii) strength and weakness of landraces based on nutritional properties profiles. Collecting missions were carried out in 2013 year in different locations of rural areas at the territory of Republic of Macedonia. Ten sub-samples of 100 g seeds were extracted from each of regenerated landrace in order to obtain a well-balanced analytical sample. All samples were analysed for moisture content - MOI (%), protein content - PC (%), fat content - FC (%), crude fibre content CF (%), wet gluten content - WG (%), and dry gluten content - DG (%). In regard to assessed nutritional properties the most perspective landraces proved to be: Okalesta bela (CF of (x) over bar = 2.62%) of bread wheat; Zimski (WG of (x) over bar= 9.24%), Dabilski nizok (DG of (x) over bar = 4.2%) and Ednoreden (CF of (x) over bar = 5.18%) of barley; Sopski (PC of (x) over bar= 14.62%), Gabarski (FC of (x) over bar = 6.46%) and Sekulicki (CF of (x) over bar = 9.89%) of oat; Calakliski (PC of (x) over bar = 14.43%, CF of (x) over bar = 8.16%), Koselski (FC of (x) over bar= 4.19%), and Gabarski (DG of (x) over bar = 3.14%) of rye. The positive associations among nutritional properties of Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals were: all examined nutritional properties except PC and CF in bread wheat landraces; PC, WG, DG, MOI as one cluster, and FC and CF as another cluster in barley landraces; all examined nutritional properties except MOI and CF in oat landraces; PC, CF, FC as one cluster and DG and MOI as another cluster in rye landraces. The Macedonian landraces of small grain cereals proved to be new sources of genetic variability of nutritional properties which can be used in breeding, because they outperformed commercial check cultivar landraces with statistical significance (P  lt  0.05) for: MOI (4 landraces) and CF (4 landraces) for bread wheat; WG (Zimski), DG (3 landraces), CF (7 landraces) for barley; CF (5 landraces) for oat; DG (1 landrace), MOI (4 landraces), FC (4 landraces in rye).",

Correlations differ for different varieties, which is logical, because each variety has a different genotype and specific genes forming various interactions. Taking into account all three varieties, high and positive correlations were found between: number of grains per spike and grain weight per spike (>0.78), number of spikelets per spike and number of grains per spike (>0.79), and number of spikelets per spike and grain weight per spike (>0.73).

AB  - The main purpose of the study was to determine the effect of egg mass and egg weight groups (group I eggs under 160 g, group II egg mass 160 g to 180 g and group III eggs over 180 g) on incubation results, loss of egg weight (moist) during incubation, gosling hatchability and the relative share of the gosling in the egg mass. Eggs with mass between 160 g and 180 g (group II) demonstrated the highest fertilisation rate (91.28 %) and the highest hatchability out of the number of incubated eggs (83.14 %), while the eggs from the group I (lighter than 160 g) showed the highest number of gosling hatchability out of the number of fertilised eggs (91.08 %). The lowest embryo mortality was that of the group I (5.17 % and 6.06 %), while the highest is reported for the group III (14.29 % and 16.67 %). The lowest relative loss of egg mass (moist) by day 25 of the incubation period was established for the group I eggs (10.98 %), and the highest for the group III (11.71 %), with a statistically significant (P lt 0.01) difference of -0.73 %. Other differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Gosling percentage in the egg mass was significantly higher (P lt 0.001) in the group III of incubated eggs (67.81 %) than in the group II (66.61 %) and the group I (65.24 %).

AB  - The aim of soybean production is to achieve high and stable yields of good quality per unit area. An important role in high yields achieving has a proper arrangement of plants. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of row spacing and variety on increase of dry mass per unit time and the productivity of soybean. The paper analyzes three soybean cultivars and three row spacing. The analysis of the results showed a higher number of leaves in favorable weather conditions of second investigated year, to an average of row spacing included studies, and by varieties, which caused the development of a greater leaf area and thus directly and higher grain yield of soybean. In the first, dry year, in average for row spacing, the highest number of leaves had the seed formation stage (R5) cultivars Bosa and the Balkans in the fourth measurement, 18.0 and 18.7, respectively in the fifth measurement variety Dragana, 23.6. On average for the varieties included in the study, the largest number of leaves was in the fifth measurement (20.8) and in the square sowing (20 cm between rows). In the cultivars, largest number of leaves was observed in sowing in narrow rows (20 cm). Relative growth rate (RGR) is one of the most important parameters of the analysis of growth and represents a relative increase of dry mass per unit time. In the first, dry year the highest value of RGR were established in the first two intervals and amounted to 0.07 and 0.05 g/day. The largest soybean grain yield (4868 kg ha-1) was achieved at the narrow row sowing (at 20cm). Yields were decreased with increasing distance between the rows to 45 cm and 70 cm.
AB  - Cilj proizvodnje soje je ostvarenje visokih i stabilnih prinosa po jedinici površine kvalitetnog zrna. Značajnu ulogu u ostvarenju visokih prinosa ima i pravilan raspored biljaka. Cilj ovog rada je da se ispita uticaj međurednog rastojanja i sorte na povećanje suve mase u jedinici vremena i na produktivnost soje. U radu su analizirane, tri sorte soje i tri međuredna rastojanja. Analizom dobijenih rezultata utvrđen je veći broj listova u meteorološki povoljnijoj drugoj istraživanoj godini, kako u proseku za međuredna rastojanja obuhvaćena istraživanjima, tako i po sortama, što je uslovilo razvoj veće lisne površine a time neposredno i veći prinos zrna soje. U prvoj, sušnoj godini, u proseku za međuredna rastojanja, najveći broj listova imale su, u fazi formiranja semena (R5), sorte Bosa i Balkan u četvrtom merenju, 18,0 i 18,7, odnosno u petom merenju sorta Dragana, 23,6. Analysis of conservation of genetic identity by protein electrophoresis in wheat reproduction

AB  - Application of positive and negative selection at the phenotype level in the reproduction of wheat varieties, enabled varietal purity of 99 and 100 % of the crops of seed categories. Protein electrophoresis showed that there is a divergence between the tested wheat varieties in composition components gliadin fraction, respectively gels varieties differ in the characteristics of the tape, while inside there are varieties of uniformity. Institute PKB Agroekonomik has been successful in maintaining the genetic identity of wheat variety in way it conducts selection and seed production. In that way, Institute PKB Agroekonomik is able to product seeds of excellent quality and high genetic purity.
AB  - Primenom pozitivne i negativne selekcije, na nivou fenotipa pri sortnoj reprodukciji pšenice, u ogledima omogućila sortnu čistoću od 99 i 100 % u usevima svih semenskih kategorija. Elektroforeza proteina je pokazala da postoji divergentnost između ispitivanih sorti pšenice po sastavu komponenti glijadinske frakcije, odnodno da se gelovi sorti međusobno razlikuju po karakteristikama traka, dok unutar sorti postoji ujednačenost. Način na koji se sprovodi selekcija i semenarstvo u Institutu PKB Agroekonomik je uspešan za održavanje genetičkog identiteta sorti pšenice, odnosno Institut PKB Agroekonomik je ovladao metodama proizvodnje semenskih useva koji omogućavaju dobijanje semena odličnog kvaliteta, visoke genetske čistoće.

abstract = "Application of positive and negative selection at the phenotype level in the reproduction of wheat varieties, enabled varietal purity of 99 and 100 % of the crops of seed categories. Protein electrophoresis showed that there is a divergence between the tested wheat varieties in composition components gliadin fraction, respectively gels varieties differ in the characteristics of the tape, while inside there are varieties of uniformity. Institute PKB Agroekonomik has been successful in maintaining the genetic identity of wheat variety in way it conducts selection and seed production. In that way, Institute PKB Agroekonomik is able to product seeds of excellent quality and high genetic purity., Primenom pozitivne i negativne selekcije, na nivou fenotipa pri sortnoj reprodukciji pšenice, u ogledima omogućila sortnu čistoću od 99 i 100 % u usevima svih semenskih kategorija. Elektroforeza proteina je pokazala da postoji divergentnost između ispitivanih sorti pšenice po sastavu komponenti glijadinske frakcije, odnodno da se gelovi sorti međusobno razlikuju po karakteristikama traka, dok unutar sorti postoji ujednačenost. Način na koji se sprovodi selekcija i semenarstvo u Institutu PKB Agroekonomik je uspešan za održavanje genetičkog identiteta sorti pšenice, odnosno Institut PKB Agroekonomik je ovladao metodama proizvodnje semenskih useva koji omogućavaju dobijanje semena odličnog kvaliteta, visoke genetske čistoće.",

AB  - In this paper are presented the results of research about quality traits and incubation value, of Leghorn and Styrian hen’s eggs, in semi-extensive system of breeding.Aforementioned traits of eggs were examined on 110 eggs of leghorn hen breed, and 64 eggs of Styrian breed hen, while the results of incubation value researching were based on 93 (leghorn) and 52 (Styrian) hatched eggs.The aim of study was examination of the genotype influence on quality of eggs, as well as on their reproductive traits in semi­extensive system of breeding.Considering the average egg weight, length of egg, chicken’s weight and for the relative share of chicken in egg weight, the statistically significant differences were determined in case of Styrian hen breed(P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05), while in the case of Leghorn hen, the higher average values for absolute and relative loss of egg weight (P lt 0.001) were determined.There was not any significant influence of genotype (P>0.05) regard the width of eggs. During the calculation of corelation coeficient, for the both breeds in research, the significantly high corelation was determined between most of examined traits (P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05), except for the width of eggs and realtive share of chicken in egg weight (P>0.05).
AB  - U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja osobina kvaliteta i inkubacionih vrednosti jaja leghorn rase kokoši i jarebičaste italijanke gajenih u poluekstenzivnom sistemu. Ispitivanja navedenih osobina jaja su izvršena na uzorku od 110 priplodnih jaja poreklom od leghorn rase i 64 priplodna jajeta poreklom od jarebičaste italijanke, a inkubacionih rezultata na 93 jajeta (leghorn), odnosno 52 jajeta (jarebičasta italijanka) iz kojih su se izlegli pilići. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj genotipa na osobine kvaliteta jaja i njihove reproduktivne karakteristike u poluekstenzivnom sistemu gajenja. Statistički značajno (P lt 0,001; P lt 0,01; P lt 0,05) veće prosečne vrednosti mase jaja, dužine jaja, mase pilića i relativnog udela pileta u masi jajeta utvrđene su kod jarebičaste italijanke, dok su kod leghorn rase statistički značajno (P lt 0,001) veće prosečne vrednosti utvrđene za apsolutni gubitak mase jaja i relativni gubitak mase jaja. U pogledu širine jaja genotip nije imao statistički značajnog (P>0,05) uticaja. AB  - The main goal of this work was comparative testing of fattening (body weight - gain, consumption - feed conversion and mortality) and classical (meat yield, warm and chilled carcasses, classical carcass yield - “prepared for the grill”) characteristics of two line hybrids of turkey (Hybrid Converter and Nicholas) fattened up to ten weeks (male and female specimens), i.e. up to 12, 14, 16 and 18 weeks of age (male specimens). Male specimens in relation to females had a higher growth, so that at the end of the tenth week of age average weight of male broilers was 5.22 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 4.64 kg (Nicholas). With eighteen weeks, average weight of males was 12.80 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 13.44 kg (Nicholas). Mortality till the tenth week of age (both genders of turkeys) was 5.07% (Hybrid Converter) and 4.17% (Nicholas). From the tenth to the eighteenth week of age mortality of males was 9.02% (Hybrid Converter) and 12.31% (Nicholas). Feed conversion to the tenth week of age to turkeys of the both genders was 2.47 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 2.49 kg (Nicholas). From the tenth to the eighteenth week of age feed conversion to the males was 3.72 kg (Hybrid Converter) and 3.82 kg (Nicholas). To the both hybrids of turkey, male specimens had statistically significant (P lt 0.05) lower yield of meat of warm and chilled carcasses, (carcass yield) at the age of ten weeks. Then, carcasses yield of the both sexes Hybrid Converter in relation to Nicholas was statistically significant lower (P lt 0.05). Therewith, yield of warm carcasses of males was statistically significant (P lt 0.05) lower to the hybrid Hybrid Converter in relation to the Nicholas at each age (12th, 16th, and 18th week), except 14th week because determined difference (-0.63%) wasn’t statistically confirmed (P>0.05). Similar statistical significance had been determined to the yield of chilled carcasses.
AB  - Osnovni cilj ovog rada je bio uporedno ispitivanje tovnih (telesna masa - prirast, utrošak - konverzija hrane i mortalitet) i klaničnih (prinos mesa toplih i ohlađenih trupova - klanicni randman “spremno za roštilj”) osobina dva linijska hibrida ćuraka (Hybrid Converter i Nicholas) tovljenih do 10 nedelja (muška i ženska grla), odnosno 12, 14, 16 i 18 nedelja starosti (muška grla). Muška grla, u odnosu na ženska, su imala veći prirast, tako da je na kraju 10. nedelje starosti prosecna masa muških brojlera iznosila 5,22 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 5,75 kg (Nicholas), a ženskih 4,67 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 4,64 kg (Nicholas). Sa 18 nedelja prosecna masa muških grla iznosila je 12,80 kg (Hybrid Converter) i 13,44 kg (Nicholas). Mortalitet do 10. nedelje starosti (oba pola ćuraka) iznosio je 5,07% (Hybrid Converter) i 4,17% (Nicholas). The effect of triticales on the yield and meat quality of broilers

AB  - The influence of triticale as feed on the production and carcass traits of chickens is investigated in this paper. The study was conducted on 200 chickens for fattening, hybrid Ross 308. In the experiment, two groups, or treatments, were formed, with 100 chickens in each group. One group was the control group K, with the classical mixture fed to broilers, and the other one was the experimental O-group of chickens fed diets containing triticale genotypes Kg 20. The first diet was the standard starter, grower I, grower II and finisher and served as control. The other rations contained 7.5%, 12%, 15% and 18% triticale as graded replacement for wheat. During the fattening period, health conditions of broilers were periodically monitored, and the following fattening traits as well: weight gain (individual measurements of all the chickens once a week), feed intake and mortality. The feeding trial lasted for 42 days. Feed and water supply for chickens was ad libitum applying floor housing system. Since the yield of carcass as well as the yield and share of some meat categories of cold carcass dressing are very important factors of quality, the influence of feeding treatments on some mentioned traits was monitored. The results showed that the chickens in the control group (K), which were fed a mixture of standard feed, had slightly better productive results compared to chickens in the experimental groups (O), which were fed diets containing triticale. The average body weight of broiler chickens at 42 days of fattening was higher in chickens of K-group - 1896.875 g, and slightly lower in broiler chickens fed triticale - 1846.684 g. By the end of the experimental period (42 days) the highest feed consumption per chicken was recorded in the control group of chickens (4.332 kg). The experimental group of chickens which were fed classical diets had lower mortality throughout the experimental period.
AB  - U radu je ispitivan uticaj tritikalea kao hraniva na proizvodne i klanične osobine brojlerskih pilića. Istraživanje je sprovedeno na 200 pilića za tov, hibrida Ross 308. Tom prilikom, formirane su dve grupe brojlerskih pilića, ili tretmana, sa po 100 brojlerskih pilića u svakoj grupi, odnosno kontrolna K-grupa (klasična smeša za tov brojlera) i ogledna O-grupa (smeša sa tritikaleom genotip Kg 20). U toku tova kod ispitivanih grupa je praćeno zdravstveno stanje i vršila se kontrola tovnih osobina: prirast (individualnim merenjem svih pilića jednom nedeljno), utrošak hrane i mortalitet. Ogled ishrane trajao je 42 dana. Pilići su uzgajani u podnom sistemu držanja i hranjeni su ad libitum. Pošto je prinos trupova, kao i prinos i udeo pojedinih kategorija mesa obrađenih trupova pilića bitan činilac kvaliteta, praćen je uticaj tretmana ishrane na navedene osobine. Rezultati su pokazali da su brojlerski pilići kontrolne grupe (K) koji su hranjeni standardnom smešom imali nešto bolje proizvodne rezultate od brojlerskih pilića ogledne grupe (O), koji su hranjeni smešom sa tritikaleom. Prosečna telesna masa ispitivanih brojlerskih pilića 42. dana tova bila je veća kod pilića K-grupe i iznosila je (1896,875 g), a nešto manja kod brojlerskih pilića hranjenih tritikaleom (1846,684 g). Nešto veći utrošak hrane po piletu do kraja oglednog perioda (42. dana) imali su brojlerski pilići kontrolne grupe (4,332 kg). Međutim, ogledna grupa pilića koji su hranjeni smešom sa tritikaleom imali su manji mortalitet tokom celog eksperimentalnog perioda.

The feeding trial lasted for 42 days. Feed and water supply for chickens was ad libitum applying floor housing system. Since the yield of carcass as well as the yield and share of some meat categories of cold carcass dressing are very important factors of quality, the influence of feeding treatments on some mentioned traits was monitored. The results showed that the chickens in the control group (K), which were fed a mixture of standard feed, had slightly better productive results compared to chickens in the experimental groups (O), which were fed diets containing triticale. The average body weight of broiler chickens at 42 days of fattening was higher in chickens of K-group - 1896.875 g, and slightly lower in broiler chickens fed triticale - 1846.684 g. By the end of the experimental period (42 days) the highest feed consumption per chicken was recorded in the control group of chickens (4.332 kg). AB  - The aim of this study was to determine the most-yielding NS soybean varieties for the agro-ecological conditions of Pancevo area in Serbia. This paper presents the analysis results of yield and plant height of eight NS soybean varieties of I maturity group. Average yield for these soybean varieties was 3,701 kg / ha. NS Maximus recorded significantly higher yield than other tested varieties, except the line NS-L-210391. Line NS-L-414260 achieved significantly higher plant height compared to the other tested varieties, p lt 0.05 and line NS-L-210391 achieved significantly higher first pod height than variety NS Maximus and line NS-L-510001. Statistically significant differences in yield are evident, depending on the cultivated genotypes. All analyzed NS varieties achieved high yields and suitable for growing on the site of Pancevo.
AB  - Cilj istraživanja bio je da se odrede najprinosnije NS sorte soje za agroekološke uslove Pančeva. U radu su prikazani rezultati prinosa i visine biljaka, osam NS sorti soje, I grupe zrenja (GZ). Prosečni prinosi za ispitivane sorte soje iznosili su 3.701 kg/ha i beleže stabilnost (CV=12,84 %). Sorta NS Maximus imala je signifikantno viši prinos u odnosu na testirane sorte (p lt 0.05), izuzev linije NS-L-210391. Linija NS-L-414260 imala je signifikantno višu visinu biljke u odnosu na ostale testirane sorte, p lt 0.05 dok je linija NS-L-210391 imala signifikantno višu visinu prve mahune u odnosu na sortu NS Maximus i liniju NS-L-510001. Evidentne su statistički značajne razlike u prinosima u zavisnosti od gajenog genotipa (p lt 0.05). Sve testirane NS sorte soje ostvarile su visoke prinose i pogodne su za gajenje na lokalitetu Pančevo.

Analysis grain yield and quality of some cultivars of winter wheat in 2011 and in 2012

AB  - Wheat was in the past, is at present and will surely be in the future, basic and vital element of the daily diet of humans and animals. The world market, and more and we do have expressed the desire and request of sorts, which in addition to high and stable yields with good quality parameters and flour. Cultivars with the most stable yield and good quality grain were varieties Talas and Pobeda. These varieties are high in quality protein and by analogy, this is a high gluten content and quality, as confirmed by rheological measurements. High yields of tested wheat varieties are the result of the interaction of genetic potential of the tested wheat varieties and application of good management systems in circumstances where the distribution of rainfall during the growing seasons, from the time of sowing and harvest was not favorable to the production of wheat. After testing cultivars, Talas and Pobeda are classified in A2 quality group, group of cultivars for quality flour and bread, and as such also belong to the group of improvers. Varieties Merkur, Ratarica and Esperia are classified as B1 group, group of cultivars good for bread. Cultivars NS 40 S and Balaton are classified as B2 quality group. The cultivar with the lowest quality is sorta Apach and classified in the C1 group of quality, which means that millers and bakers must mix flour with a variety of cultivars of flour improver, to obtain good quality bread.
AB  - Pšenica je bila u prošlosti, jeste u sadašnjosti a sigurno će biti i u budućnosti bazna komponenta svakodnevne ishrane ljudi i životinja. Sada i kod nas, kao i u svetu, sve više se javlja tražnja za sortama koje pored visokog prinosa zrna, imaju i dobar kvalitet brašna. Sorte domaće selekcije Talas i Pobeda, stabilnog prinosa i dobrog kvaliteta, i u ogledima su potvrdile svoje osobine. Ove sorte imaju i visok sadržaj kvalitetnih proteina, a analogno ovome je i visok sadržaj glutena ali i kvalitet, što su potvrdila reološka merenja. Visoki prinosi ispitivanih sorata pšenice jesu rezultat interakcije genetičkog potencijala i primene dobre agrotehnike u uslovima kada raspored padavina u toku vegetacione sezone, od momenta setve do momenta žetve, nije pogodovao proizvodnji pšenice. Nakon obavljenih ispitivanja i ove godine sorte Talas i Pobeda svrstane su u A2 kvalitetnu grupu, odnosno to su sorte dobrog kvaliteta brašna i hleba i kao takve spadaju i u grupu poboljšivača. Sorte Merkur, Ratarica i Esperia svrstane su u B1 kvalitetnu grupu, tj. one su dobre hlebne sorte. Sorta NS 40 S i Balaton svrstane su u B2 kvalitetnu grupu. Quality assessment of Leghorn breeding eggs reared in semi extensive breeding system

AB  - Analysis results regarding the external traits of breeding eggs quality originating from Leghorn breed reared in semi extensive system are given in this research. Research was done on the 55 egg sample, divided in to two categories according to weight: I group - eggs weighing up to 60 g (≤ 60 g) and II group - eggs weighing over 60 g (> 60 g). Aim of this research was to analyze the influence of weight group to base quality traits of eggs, such as weight, length, width, shape index in above mentioned breeding system. Obtained results point the fact that Leghorn breed in semi extensive breeding system achieves very satisfying results in terms of the base external quality characteristics of the eggs. Results of conducted research show that more attention should be given to the quality of eggs for planting, especially for pure breeds, then towards breeding goals with aim to improve their productive - reproductive traits, therefore preserving genetic potential of different breeds, species and races of poultry.
AB  - U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta priplodnih jaja poreklom od Leghorn rase kokoši gajene u poluekstenzivnom sistemu držanja. Ispitivanja su izvršena na uzorku od po 55 jaja, podeljenih u dve težinske grupe i to: I grupa - jaja mase do 60 g (≤ 60 g) i II grupa - jaja mase preko 60 g (> 60 g). Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj težinske grupe na osnovne pokazatelje kvaliteta jaja, kao što su masa, dužina, širina i indeks oblika jaja u navedenom sistemu držanja. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na činjenicu da leghorn rasa kokoši u poluekstenzivnom sistemu gajenja ostvaruje zadovoljavajuće rezultate u pogledu osnovnih karakteristika spoljašnjeg kvaliteta jaja. Rezultati sprovedenih istraživanja ukazuju na to da je potrebno posvetiti veću pažnju ispitivanju kvaliteta jaja za nasad, naročito kod čistih rasa kokoši, zatim pravcu odgajivanja u cilju poboljšanja njihovih proizvodno – reproduktivnih sposobnosti, a samim tim i očuvanja genetskog potencijala različitih vrsta, rasa i sojeva živine.

abstract = "Analysis results regarding the external traits of breeding eggs quality originating from Leghorn breed reared in semi extensive system are given in this research. Research was done on the 55 egg sample, divided in to two categories according to weight: I group - eggs weighing up to 60 g (≤ 60 g) and II group - eggs weighing over 60 g (> 60 g). Aim of this research was to analyze the influence of weight group to base quality traits of eggs, such as weight, length, width, shape index in above mentioned breeding system. Obtained results point the fact that Leghorn breed in semi extensive breeding system achieves very satisfying results in terms of the base external quality characteristics of the eggs. Results of conducted research show that more attention should be given to the quality of eggs for planting, especially for pure breeds, then towards breeding goals with aim to improve their productive - reproductive traits, therefore preserving genetic potential of different breeds, species and races of poultry., U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta priplodnih jaja poreklom od Leghorn rase kokoši gajene u poluekstenzivnom sistemu držanja. Ispitivanja su izvršena na uzorku od po 55 jaja, podeljenih u dve težinske grupe i to: I grupa - jaja mase do 60 g (≤ 60 g) i II grupa - jaja mase preko 60 g (> 60 g). Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj težinske grupe na osnovne pokazatelje kvaliteta jaja, kao što su masa, dužina, širina i indeks oblika jaja u navedenom sistemu držanja. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na činjenicu da leghorn rasa kokoši u poluekstenzivnom sistemu gajenja ostvaruje zadovoljavajuće rezultate u pogledu osnovnih karakteristika spoljašnjeg kvaliteta jaja. Rezultati sprovedenih istraživanja ukazuju na to da je potrebno posvetiti veću pažnju ispitivanju kvaliteta jaja za nasad, naročito kod čistih rasa kokoši, zatim pravcu odgajivanja u cilju poboljšanja njihovih proizvodno – reproduktivnih sposobnosti, a samim tim i očuvanja genetskog potencijala različitih vrsta, rasa i sojeva živine.",

AB  - In order to make comparative examination of lying eggs capacity, an experiment was carried out. It lasted from 19th to 63rd week of age. Examination included two hens’ hybrids Shaver 579 and Hisex Brown. For both examined hybrids, similar conditions of growing and feeding technology were provided. For the whole period of egg production, average values and variability of weekly number of eggs per hen for Shaver 579 was 5.72, and Hisex Brown had a little higher weekly egg production-5.99 eggs. The greatest part of eggs per hen was in 11th week of production in both examined provenience. In both examined light line hybrids, statistically significant difference was determined between age of hens and average weekly egg production per hen.
AB  - U cilju uporednog ispitivanja nosivosti lakih linijskih hibrida kokoši, izveden je ogled u trajanju od 19. do 63. nedelje starosti. Ispitivanjem su obuhvaćena dva hibrida kokoši: Shaver 579 i Hisex Brown. Za nosilje, oba ispitivana hibrida, bili su obezbeđeni slični uslovi tehnologije gajenja i ishrane. Za ceo period produkcije jaja, prosečne vrednosti i varijabilnosti nedeljnog broja snešenih jaja po useljenoj nosilji za Shaver 579 je iznosio 5,72, dok je nešto veću prosečnu nedeljnu proizvodnju jaja imao Hisex Brown 5,99 jaja. Najveći broj jaja po useljenoj kokoši bio je u 11. nedelji proizvodnje kod obe ispitivane provenijence. Kod oba ispitivana laka linijska hibrida utvrđena je statistički vrlo značajna zavisnost između uzrasta nosilja i prosečne nedeljne proizvodnje jaja po useljenoj kokoši.

Rooster body weight influence on the reproductive performance of the broiler parents

AB  - In this research influence of the rooster body weight on reproductive performance of broiler parents was examined for Ross 308 and Cobb 500 hybrids. At the beginning of the productive cycle (24 weeks of age) for roosters Ross 308 hybrids average body weight of 3,030.00 g has been determined, while for Cobb 500 rooster average body weight was 3,045.00 g. In the 42nd week of age (middle of productive cycle), body weight of Ross 308 roosters was 4,306.00 g and 4,323.00 g for Cobb 500 roosters, while at the end of productive cycle in the 61st week of age Ross 308 hybrids had average 4.908,00 g and Cobb 500 had 4,918.50 g. Determined differences in body weight of roosters (15.00 g, 17.00 g and 10.50 g) in specific periods of productive cycle, as well as difference in body weight for the entire productive cycle (19.97 g) were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Between rooster body weight and fertilized eggs laying intensity positive statistically significant (P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05) correlation coefficients were determined. Between rooster body weight and hatchability percentage of the chicks positive statistically significant (P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05) correlation coefficients were determined for both hybrids. However, based on correlation coefficient it has been determined that rooster body weight had positive influence on laying intensity of fertilized eggs till 58th week of age (Ross 308) and 60th week of age (Cobb 500), while on hatchability of chicks it had positive influence till 58th week of age for both hybrids.
AB  - Ispitivanje uticaja telesne težine petlova na reproduktivne performanse brojlerskih roditelja sprovedeno je kod hibrida Ross 308 i Cobb 500. Na početku proizvodnog ciklusa (24. nedelja starosti) kod hibrida Ross 308 utvrđena je prosečna telesna težina petlova 3.030,00 g, a Cobb 500 3.045,00 g. U 42. nedelji starosti (sredina proizvodnog ciklusa) telesna težina petlova iznosila je 4.306,00 g (Ross 308) i 4.323,00 g (Cobb 500), dok je na kraju proizvodnog ciklusa (61. nedelja starosti) telesna težina petlova kod hibrida Ross 308 iznosila 4.908,00 g, a hibrida Cobb 500 4.918,50 g. Utvrđene razlike telesne težine petlova (15.00 g, 17.00 g i 10.50 g) u određenim periodima proizvodnog ciklusa, kao i razlika u telesnoj težini petlova za ceo proizvodni ciklus (19.97 g), nisu bile statistički signifikantne (P>0.05). Između telesne težine petlova i intenziteta nosivosti oplođenih jaja utvrđeni su pozitivni statistički značajni (P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05) koeficijenti korelacije do 50. nedelje starosti kod hibrida Ross 308, odnosno 53. nedelje kod roditeljskog jata hibrida Cobb 500, a između telesne težine petlova i procenta izvodljivosti pilića utvrđeni su pozitivni statistički značajni (P lt 0.001; P lt 0.01; P lt 0.05) koeficijenti korelacije do 51. nedelje starosti kod oba ispitivana hibrida. Međutim, na osnovu koeficijenata korelacije utvrđeno je da je telesna težina petlova pozitivno uticala na intenzitet nosivosti oplođenih jaja do 58. nedelje starosti (Ross 308), tj. 60. nedelje starosti (Cobb 500), a na izvodljivost jednodnevnih brojlerskih pilića do 58. nedelje starosti kod oba ispitivana roditeljska jata. AB  - The quality of poultry feed is an important precondition to achieve optimal production results, and the preservation of the health status of animals, especially in intensive livestock production, hence it is necessary to control both raw materials and finished feed mixtures. The presence of fungi (moulds) in food for animals is a natural phenomenon, not an exception. Sources of contamination of poultry feed with fungi and resulting mycotoxins vary, starting with raw materials (e. g. corn as the most common component) during harvest and transport, during storage of raw materials and finished products, as well as in the production process and manipulation of poultry feed. Mineral adsorbents are increasingly used in poultry production, especially in the nutrition of various types and categories of poultry, to control fungal contamination. Using different mineral adsorbents in poultry nutrition can prevent the losses due to mycotoxicosis. It can also prevent appearance of toxic residues in poultry products, improve production and reproductive ability of birds, and contribute to improving the quality of poultry products. In addition, the use of mineral adsorbents in poultry feeds has application in neutralising the harmful effects of mycotoxins in buildings where poultry is reared.

AB  - Wheat was in the past, is at present and will surely be in the future, basic and vital element of the daily diet of humans and animals. The world market, and more and we do have expressed the desire and request of sorts, which in addition to high and stable yields with good quality parameters and flour. Cultivar with the most stable yield and good quality grain varieties Talas and Pobeda. These varieties are high in quality protein and by analogy, this is a high gluten content and quality, as confirmed by rheological measurements. High yields of tested wheat varieties are the result of the interaction of genetic potential of the tested wheat varieties and application of good management systems in circumstances where the distribution of rainfall during the growing seasons, from the time of sowing and harvest was favorable to the production of wheat. After a Talas of testing cultivars and classified Pobeda in A2 quality group, and to the cultivar of good quality flour and bread, and as such belong to the group of improvers. Varieties Merkur, the Carica and Ratarica are classified as B1 that is a quality group. they are good cultivars of bread. cultivars NS 40S and Balaton are classified as B2 quality group. The cultivars with the lowest quality is sort Apach and classified in the C1 group of quality, which means that millers and bakers have flour mixed with a variety of cultivars of flour improver, to obtain good quality bread.
AB  - Pšenica, je bila u prošlosti, jeste u sadašnjosti a sigurno će biti i u budućnosti bazni i vitalni element svakodnevne ishrane ljudi i životinja. Na svetskom tržištu, a sve više i kod nas postoji izražena težnja i traženost sorti, koje pored visokog i stabilnog prinosa imaju i dobre parametre kvaliteta brašna. Sorte sa najstabilnijim prinosom i dobrim kvalitetom zrna su sorte Talas i Pobeda. Ove sorte imaju visok sadržaj kvalitetnih proteina a analogno ovome je i visok sadržaj glutena ali i kvalitet, što su potvrdila reološka merenja. Visoki prinosi ispitivanih sorata pšenice jesu rezultat interakcije genetičkog potencijala ispitivanih sorata pšenice i primena dobre agrotehnike u uslovima kada je raspored padavina u toku vegetacione sezone, od momenta setve, pa do žetve pogodovao proizvodnji pšenice. Nakon ispitivanja sorte Talas i Pobeda svrstane u A2 kvalitetnu grupu, odnosno to su sorte dobrog kvaliteta brašna i hleba i kao takve spadaju u grupu poboljšivača. Sorte Merkur, Carica i Ratarica svrstane su u B1 kvalitetnu grupu tj. one su dobre hlebne sorte. Sorte NS 40S i Balaton svrstane su u B2 kvalitetnu grupu. Sorta sa najlošijim kvalitetom je sorta Apač i svrstana je u C1 kvalitetnu grupu što znači da mlinari i pekari moraju brašno ove sorte mešati sa brašnom sorata poboljšivača, da bi se dobio kvalitetan hleb.

The world market, and more and we do have expressed the desire and request of sorts, which in addition to high and stable yields with good quality parameters and flour. Cultivar with the most stable yield and good quality grain varieties Talas and Pobeda. Na osnovu analize rezultata ovog istraživanja i njihovim upoređivanjem sa proizvodnim rezultatima (normativom), može se zaključiti da razlike između oglednih Shaver 579 nosilja i standarda sa stanovišta dinamike nosivosti, utroška hrane i mortaliteta bile su zanemarljivo male.

AB  - In this paper result of external characteristics of brooding eggs originating from two breeds are presented, New-Hampshire and Sombor Crested, bread in semi extensive breeding system. Research was conducted on 30eggs from each analyzed breed, the parent flocks. Aim of the research was to examine the influence of genotype on basic egg quality parameters such as, weight, length, width and shape index for the brood as well as specifying the possibilities for preserving and enhancing the productive and reproductive traits of autochthonous chicken breeds compared to imported breeds. Obtained results point at the fact that Sombor Crested as autochthonous breed regarding the weight of eggs has similar results as New-Hampshire, as difference 1, 04 g has not shown any statistically significant difference (P>0,05). However, the obtained difference in length (0,48 cm) and width of the eggs (0,16 cm) were bigger at New-Hampshire breed and statistically significant (P lt 0,001), while at shape index difference of 1,00% was higher and statistically significant (P lt 0,001) at Sombor Crested. Results of conducted research shows that it is needed to pay more attention in brooding eggs quality, specially for autochthonous chicken breeds, then towards the breeding direction all with the goal to better their productive and reproductive traits. Moreover, by doing that we will preserve the autochthonous genetic potential of different species, breeds and lineages of chicken.
AB  - U radu su izloženi rezultati ispitivanja spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta jaja za nasad poreklom od dve rase kokoši, Njuhempšir i Somborska kaporka, gajenih u poluekstenzivnom sistemu držanja. Ispitivanja su izvršena na uzorku od po 30 jaja od obe analizirane rase, odnosno matična jata. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita uticaj genotipa na osnovne pokazatelje kvaliteta jaja, kao što su masa, dužina, širina i indeks oblika jaja za nasad i konkretnijeg sagledavanja mogućnosti očuvanja i unapređenja proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti autohnonih rasa kokoši u odnosu na uvozne rase. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na činjenicu da Somborska kaporka, kao autohtona rasa kokoši, u pogledu mase jaja ostvaruje slične rezultate kao Njuhempšir rasa, jer razlika od 1,04 g nije pokazala statistički značajnu razliku (P>0,05). Međutim, utvrđene razlike kod dužine (0,48 cm) i širine jaja (0,16 cm) su bile veće kod Njuhempšir rase kokoši i statistički signifikantne (P lt 0,001), dok je kod indeksa oblika razlika od 1,00% bila veća i statistički značajna (P lt 0,001) kod Somborske kaporke. Rezultati sprovedenih istraživanja ukazuju na to da je potrebno posvetiti veću pažnju ispitivanju kvaliteta jaja za nasad, naročito kod autohtonih rasa kokoši, zatim pravcu odgajivanja u cilju poboljšanja njihovih proizvodno - reproduktivnih sposobnosti, a samim tim i očuvanja autohtonog genetskog potencijala različitih vrsta, rasa i sojeva živine.

Variability of deformation of egg shell of depending on genotype and age of hens

AB  - Here we have results of examination of eggs quality in two light line hybrids of chickens (Hisex Brown and Shawer 579). At the end of every four-week period an examination of external qualities of eggs was carried out. The examination was carried out on the sample of 30 eggs for each hybrid. There were total of ten examinations. The aim of these researches was to examine effects of genotype and age of hens on deformation of egg shell in 10-month period. Obtained measuring average of egg shell deformation for Shawer 579 was 26.27/1000mm and it was a little higher than deformation in Hisex Brown (25.82/1000mm). On the basis of the research, it was noticed that with the age of hen, deformation of egg shell increases, too. Higher range of variability in egg shell deformation in 4-week periods of examinations was found in Hisex, but differences were not significant. Accordingly, differences between obtained results for egg shell deformation in examined hens were very small.

Krajem svakog 4-nedeljnog perioda obavljeno je ispitivanje spoljašnjih osobina kvaliteta jaja. Ispitivanje je vršeno na uzorku od 30 jaja za svaki hibrid. Ukupno je izvršeno 10 ispitivanja. Cilj ovih istraživanja, bio je da se ispita uticaj genotipa i uzrasta nosilja na deformaciju ljuske kokošijeg jajeta u periodu od 10 meseci. Dobijeni prosek merenja deformacije ljuske jajeta za Shaver 579 nosilje iznosio je 26,27/1000 mm i bio je nešto veći u odnosu na deformaciju koju je imao Hisex Brown (25,82/1000 mm). Na osnovu istraživanja, zapaženo je da se sa uzrastom nosilja deformacija ljuske jajeta povećavala. Veći raspon variranja deformacije ljuske jajeta po 4-nedeljnim periodima ispitivanja imale su nosilje Hisex, ali razlike nisu bile signifikantne. Prema tome, razlike između dobijenih rezultata za deformaciju ljuske kokošijih jaja kod ispitivanih nosilja, bile su zanemarljivo male.

Implementation of triticale in nutrition of non-ruminant animals

AB  - Cognition of chemical composition and nutritive values of triticale grain as well as the effect of its application in non-ruminant animal nutrition were pointed out in this paper. There is a high level of proteins in the grain of triticale (2 to 3% more than wheat and 4% more than rye), with very beneficial amino acid composition, and is the reason for its usage in domestic animals nutrition. Nowadays, people are of the opinion that triticale is one of potential plant species with the brightest perspective in the production of food for domestic animals. Considering the increased production of triticale, some detail researching of its nutritional value is necessary due to the required evaluation of the role and significance in domestic animal nutrition based on triticale. Due to intensive plant breeding programs, there are new varieties of triticale in the market, distinctive by the higher yield and wide range of desired traits. As a result of this, triticale is becoming very attractive and is occupying larger portions of arable land. These review will show if there are some advantages of triticale compared to other cereals and how large the frame of these advantages is, as well as how it will affect the further spreading of triticale on arable land.

Effects of nitrogen and weather conditions on traits of panicle and grain yield of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench.)

AB  - Global climate changes, manifesting in the constant increase in air temperatures and more frequent summer droughts caused by the uneven distribution of rainfall, are detrimental to many crop plants. Some of the maize growing areas in the maize belt are less suitable for this production because of long and frequent droughts. This plant is replaced by sorghum and the scientific literature already uses the term sorghum belt (www.ksgrains.com/sorghum). Sorghum, due to greater tolerance to drought and high summer air temperatures, has been increasingly becoming an alternative type of grain replacing maize. Besides, sorghum is important due to multiple uses of its grain and above ground biomass, which are similar in chemical composition to maize. Sorghum for grain production contains 8-15.3% crude protein, 72-76% starch, 3.0% oil, 1.5% cellulose and 1.6% ash, Khalil et al., 1983. Grain is important not only for food and feed, but also as a raw material in the industry (for the production of starch, glucose, syrups, oils, gluten, alcohol and ethanol, Glamočlija, 2004. Although grain sorghum better tolerates drought than maize and has a genetic potential slightly lower than maize, it is not widely used in our agricultural production, Berenji, 1988. Two factorial experiments were carried out in southeast Srem in 2002 and 2003. Hybrids of grain sorghum Hybar 456 and Record ACCO 980 were used in this study. Supplementary plant nutrition was done with 60 kg phosphorus and potassium ha-1, while the amount of nitrogen varied from 0 to 170 kg ha-1. Mineral nutrients were incorporated prior to sowing, and a half of the nitrogen amount was used for top dressing. The applied cropping practices are used in maize cultivation. The results showed that sorghum can provide a high grain yield in years with less favorable weather conditions. Yields did not lag behind the yield of maize, which is significantly more sensitive to drought stress and high temperatures. The optimum amount of nitrogen for plant nutrition is 80 kg ha-1. .
AB  - Globalne klimatske promene, koje se manifestuju stalnim rastom temperatura vazduha i sve češćim letnjim sušama izazvanim neravnomernim rasporedom padavina, štetno utiču na mnoge ratarske biljke. Pojedina područja gajenja kukuruza u kukuruznom pojasu sve manje su podesna za ovu proizvodnju usled dugih i čestih suša. Ovu biljnu vrstu zamenjuje sirak tako da se u naučnoj literaturi navodi i termin sorghum belt (oblast gajenja sirka), www.ksgrains.com/sorghum. Sirak, zahvaljujući većoj tolerantnosti na sušu i visoke letnje temperature vazduha, sve više postaje alternativna vrsta žita koja zamenjuje kukuruz. Pored toga značaj sirka proizilazi iz raznovrsne upotrebe zrna i nadzemne biomase, koji su po hemijskom sastavu slični kukuruzu. Plod sirka za proizvodnju zrna sadrži 8-15,3% ukupnih proteina, 72-76% skroba, 3,0% ulja, 1,5% celuloza i 1,6% mineralnih soli, Khalil i sar., 1983. Pored ishrane domaćih životinja i ljudi, zrno je značajna sirovina u prerađivačkoj industriji (skrob, glukoza, sirup, ulje, gluten, alkohol i etanol), Glamočlija, 2004. Iako bolje podnosi sušu od kukuruza i ima genetički potencijal rodnosti neznatno manji, sirak za zrno još uvek nije značajnije zastupljen u našoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji, Berenji, 1988. Dvofaktorijalni ogledi izvedeni su u području jugoistočnog Srema 2002. i 2003. godine. Predmet istraživanja bili su hibridi sirka za zrno Hybar 456 i Record ACCO 980. Dopunska ishrana biljaka izvedena je sa po 60 kg fosfora i kalijuma ha-1, dok su količine azota varirale, od 0 do 170 kg ha-1. Mineralna hraniva su unešena pre setve, a polovina azota je upotrebljena za prihranjivanje. Primenjena je agrotehnika koja se koristi u gajenju kukuruza. Rezultati su pokazali da sirak može dati visok prinos zrna i u godinama sa manje povoljnim meteorološkim uslovima. Ostvareni prinosi ne zaostaju za prinosom kukuruza koji je značajno osetljiviji na stres izazvan sušom i visokim temperaturama vazduha. Optimalna količina azota za ishranu biljaka je 80 kg ha-1. .

The influence of age on the exploitation period in broiler reproduction of parents in Ross hybrid 308

AB  - These investigations were intended to identify the influence of parental flock age at heavy hybrid Ross 308 (usage period) on more important reproductive capabilities (carrying eggs intensity of brood eggs, egg mass, one day old chick mass, relative chick mass share in complete egg mass) and consumption of food per processed - hatched chicken (final product of production cycle). Flock usage period lasted for 40 weeks (all eggs), respectively, 38 (brood eggs) weeks and there was possibility, based on achieved results, with evaluation of phenotype correlation, to get some concrete conclusions about the age influence on analyzed parameters during mentioned flock rising period. Phenotype correlation among investigated characteristics has been identified since second half of parental flock using period, since 41(st) week age (20(th) carrying eggs week) up to the end of production process when parental flock was 61 week old (41(st) egg production week). Flock age has statistically important positive (P  lt  0.05) influence on carrying eggs intensity of brood eggs until 49(st) week (r(p) = 0.391) and on percentage of chicken feasibility regard the complete number of inputted eggs until 50(th) week (r(p) = 0.434). There was statistically significantly increasing of egg mass and one-day old incubated chicken mass (P  lt  0.001) as parental flock was older. Complete correlation connectivity has been identified between egg mass and absolute chick mass (P  lt  0.001), while very strong (P  lt  0.001) or strong (P  lt  0.01) correlative connectivity between egg mass and relative chick share [(chicken mass/egg mass) x 100]. Further more, we determined negative correlation between eggs age and food consumption per hatched chicken for all time of breeding broiler parents, except 61(st) week when we determined positive coefficient of phenotype correlation (r(p) = 0.062), but statistically inconsequent.
