The influence of cultivar and harvest date on sugar beet yield and quality

AB  - During two-year period (20013 and 2014), the influence of different harvest dates (25.8-1.9. and 28.10-10.11) on sugar beet yield and quality of selected genotypes was conducted. Research was carried out by field micro experiments in agroecological conditions of Midle Banat (Zlatica, Zrenjanin) on chernozem soil type. Experiments were conducted by total random block system method in five replications. The obtained results show that higher root yield was given by the later-second harvest date, and sugar content by the earlier-first harvest date. Statistical differences were at very high level. The highest root yield was given by cv. Alfonsa and the sugar content by cv. Jasmina EPD.
AB  - U dvogodišnjem periodu (2013-2014) ispitivan je uticaj različitih rokova vadenja (25.8-1.9. i 28.10-10.11) na prinos i kvalitet odabranih genotipova šećerne repe. Istraživanja su obavljena putem poljskih mikroogleda u agroekološkim uslovima srednjeg Banata (lokaliet “Zlatica’’) na zemljištu karbonatni cernozem. Ogledi su postavljeni po metodi potpuno slučajnog blok sistema u pet ponavljanja. Dobijeni rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da je veći prinos korena šećerne repe dobijen u drugom roku vadenja, a veći sadržaj šećera u prvom roku vadenja. Ove razlike su statisticki vrlo značajne. Najveći prinos koren dala je prinosna sorta Alfonsa, a najveći sadržaj šećera zabeležen je u genotipa Jasmina EPD.

AB  - Two-year field trials were conducted in the south Banat area. The sugar beet cv. KWS RITA 6 was grown under rainfed and irrigation conditions, both included three levels of fertilization: N50P50K50, N100P100K100, N150P150K150 and the control (N0P0K0). Obtained results showed that applied cropping practices significantly affected productivity and quality of sugar beet. Irrigation and fertilization increased the root yield by13% and 14%, respectively, and the leaf yield by 18% and 19%, respectively. The highest total sugar content and crystal sugar yield were at the fertilization level of N100P100K100, were higher by 3% and 15%, respectively, than the control. Irrigation of crop increased digestion by 5% and the crystal sugar yield by 17.4%. Meteorological conditions greatly affected influence of applied treatments during growth period.
AB  - Ova istraživanja izvedena su na poljoprivrednim površinama Instituta 'Tamiš' na zemljištu tipa černozem. Objekt proučavanja bila je šećerna repa, sorta KWS RITA 6 (Gina) koja je gajena u uslovima prirodnog vodnog režima i navodnjavanja i u tri varijante mineralne ishrane: N50P50K50, N100P100K100 i N150P150K150 i kontrola. Na eksperimentalnim poljima, koja su bila raspoređena po slučajnom blok sistemu, ostale agrotehničke mere bile su standardne. Rezultati su pokazali da ove agrotehničke mere značajno utiču na produktivnost i kvalitet šećerne repe. Navodnjavanjem useva prinos korena je povećan za 13%, a ishranom biljaka za 14%. Prinos listova i glava u usevima sa navodnjavanjem bio je veći za 18%. Mineralna ishrana povećala je nadzemnu biomasu za 19%. Najveći sadržaj ukupnog šećera bio je u varijanti N100P100K100 (veći u odnosu na kontrolu za 3%). Navodnjavanje je povećalo digestiju za 5%. Ishrana biljaka značajno je uticala na povećanje prinosa kristalnog šećera koji je bio najviši u varijanti N100P100K100 (povećanje za 15%). Navodnjavanje useva je, takođe, uticalo na povećanje prinosa kristalnog šećera, za oko 17,4%. Na efekat primenjenih tretmana veliki uticaj imali su i meteorološki uslovi u vegetacionom periodu.

AB  - The effect of a considerable number of both domestic and foreign sugar beet genotypes on root yield and quality was investigated. The data demonstrated the most favorable results of some genotypes for root yield and sugar content. Trials were conducted on rhizomania infested soil, thus tolerant genotypes were used. Susceptible cultivars represented the control. In the trial root yield was high and sugar content low. On average, in the genotypes tested, root yield varied from 73.98 to 93.30 t/ha and sugar content from 11.90 to 13.36%, depending on weather conditions. Root yield of the genotypes investigated varied from 30.61 to 112.64 t/ha and sugar content from 10.60 to 14.20%. The Swedish cultivar Dorotea (tolerant to both rhizomania and cercospora) was the most yielding. The least yielding (susceptible to both rhizomania and cercospora) was the domestic cultivar Dana.
AB  - U radu je proučavan uticaj velikog broja domaćih i inostranih genotipova šećerne repe na prinos i tehnološki kvalitet korena. Ogledi su izvedeni na DD Stari Tamiš u Pančevu, u periodu 1998-2002. godine, na zemljištu tipa černozem, zaraženom rizomanijom. Od velikog broja testiranih genotipova (42-55), u radu su prikazani rezultati za 8 domaćih i 12 inostranih. Među ovim genotipovima dve domaće sorte ( Dana i Al omona) su osetljive na rizomaniju, a sve ostale su tolerantne prema pomenutom patogenu. U istraživanjima su postignuti sledeći važniji rezultati Prosečno variranje prinosa korena proučavanih genotipova kretalo se u granicama od 73,98 do 93,30 t/ha, sadržaj šećera u korenu od 11,90 do 13,36% i prinosa biološkog šećera od 9,19 do 11,45 t/ha. Genotipovi tolerantni na rizomaniju dali su u proseku za preko 42% veći prinos korena od osetljivih genotipova. Prinos biološkog šećera je pokazao direktnu zavisnost od prinosa korena po jedinici površine. Kao najproduktivniji genotipovi u ovim istraživanjima pokazali su se: Dorotea, Ippolita, Rama 4, Rama 5, Rama 6 H-6851, Gina i NS-H-8r.
