AB - Fuzzy sets are a mathematical notion that allows us to represent uncertainty by assigning a degree of membership to a value in a range. This degree of membership represents the degree to which a particular value belongs to the fuzzy set. Fuzzy numbers are fuzzy sets that satisfy specific conditions, and can be applied in the interpretation of the behavior of neural networks. In many real-world problems, the output of a neural network may not be a precise numerical value, but rather a range of values that are subject to uncertainty. In the context of neural networks, fuzzy numbers can be used to represent uncertainty in the output of the network. Fuzzy numbers are used in applications where the representation of ambiguity and uncertainty in numerical data is explicitly desired. This paper will consider discretizations and defuzzifications triangular fuzzy numbers with the use of MATLABR software. MATLABR functions were applied to the analysis of kidney images, where the fuzzy numbers represent the tendency value of the degree of redness, which serves as an indicator for classifying the image as normal or abnormal based on different characteristics.

AB - The wide range of walnut application makes it one of the most appreciated fruit species. In 2008, Serbian government started providing subsidies for every planted walnut seedling. These incentives have already increased the interest in this type of seedlings on the market. One of the main objectives of each farm is to maximize economic results. For a family farm, there are many alternatives on how to accomplish this objective. The decision making analysis has been done on the basis of the case study for the typical small family farm that produces walnut seedlings, located in the central part of Serbia. One of the options for the farm is to proceed to use current technology, while the other possibility is to be reduced some of production operations. A third alternative is to give up the seedlings production and to put that money in the bank as savings. The decision has to be made between those three alternatives aiming at achievement of optimal/best economic result for the family farm. Summarizing results obtained from the decision tree, simulation and sensitivity analysis, the optimal solution for the family farm should be to continue production of walnut seedlings with technology it is currently using.

AB - The authors perform an analysis of economic indicators in the production of cabbage in the Republic of Macedonia, based on statistics (2005- 2009) and data from directly interviewed thirty family holdings. In doing so, they found that cabbage in this country is produced on average area of 3,947 hectares. Total production, with an average yield of 22,342 kg/ha, is 88,182 tones in average, which is 11.4% of the total production of horticultural products. Production of cabbage is mainly concentrated in three statistical regions, as follows: 37.43% in the Southeast region, 12.54% in Pelagonia region and 11.15% in Polog region of the total area in the country. Because of that, surveys are carried out in these three regions. Labor productivity varies between 30.0 kg/h in the Southeast and 34.9 kg/h in Polog region and inside the region 26.7 to 39.2 kg/h. Although average yields at the surveyed producers are largest in Polog region (on average 39,980 kg/ha), the efficiency of invested assets is lowest. The profit is 211.6 EUR/ha in average. This is why they sell the entire production on the wholesale market where the purchase price is lowest. In contrast, highest profit (on average 1,389.4 EUR/ha) accomplish the producers from Pelagonia region because they produce with lowest unit costs and sell the products with highest price, compared to other producers.

AB - During the last ten years, poultry production in the world and particularly, EU has been specific due to new trends, whereby special attention is focused on regulations and procedures that are adopted by European Union (EU), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the World Trade Organization. Legal regulations in EU (standards, directions) are focused on all species and categories of poultry. Based on this, breeding of broiler (meat-type line strains) and production of hatching eggs and day old chickens (incubation) as well as other issues are the focus of this review. This paper presented results of studies carried out using different technological procedures in the breeding of broiler and production of one day old chickens. These showed a full expression of genetic potential of strains, along with preservation of poultry welfare.

AB - The analysis of water quality, regarding the content of metals, especially heavy and radioactive ones, has been carried out in an indirect way, by testing scale formed in a hot-water heater, using water from the water-supply network of the city of Belgrade - the district of New Belgrade. The determination of the composition and the structure of the scale has resulted in its complete identification, and its crystallochemical formula has been defined. It has unequivocally been established that the obtained results are within the tolerance boundary with the results acquired by a conventional analysis of water, when it is a matter of very low concentrations. The presence of radioactive elements of uranium and strontium in a scale sample has been found and the way of their penetrating its composition and structure has been explained. Applying the fractional extraction method, uranium has been established to be of an anthropogenic origin.

AB - Family farms are faced with an ever-rising competitiveness on the market. In order to meet the requirements on the market family farms are obliged to use current resources, raise labor productivity and adapt the production program to the needs of the consumers. Small farms are unlikely to succeed on the market considering the lack of both human and material resources. Their only chance is production intensification, competitive crop production and establishment of associations. The aim of the study was to develop models for different family farm types taking into account the constraints in order to enable an income which would meet the needs of household members. A comparison of the models would enable the determination of competitiveness of some production lines and of the farms involved. This is of principal interest to regions where there are numerous producers disposing of small agricultural land areas and focused on the production of one or two products (raspberry or any other berry fruit, plums and tobacco).

abstract = "Family farms are faced with an ever-rising competitiveness on the market. This is of principal interest to regions where there are numerous producers disposing of small agricultural land areas and focused on the production of one or two products (raspberry or any other berry fruit, plums and tobacco)., Porodična gazdinstva suočavaju se sa sve većom konkurencijom na tržištu. AB - Milk production trends tend to rise, however due to market demands and the living standard of the population a more significant production increase is substantially limited. Considering the declining trend of milking cows a major total milk production increase may be achieved by raising the milking capacity per animal. In Serbia there is an excess of dairy plants considering the achieved milk production. This results in a declining competitiveness between dairy plants on both the domestic and foreign market. Diary plants are satisfied with the premium awards because these contribute to a continuous and permanent milk supply. Some major dairy plants offer expertise help to producers with regard to production specialization.

AB - The market needs constant investigation in order to contribute to timely and correct decision making. It was found that the production structure needs, changes considering the changing needs, desires and habits of the consumers provoked by various factors. Based on the data over the past 30 years and using Markov's model changes in wine consumption were estimated and wine consumption for the following year was forecasted. Beer consumers were found to be the most stable group were as the most prominent changes were noted in brandy consumers. These results may be of major importance to managers in cases when numerous factors affect the wine market, decreasing business risk and eventually increasing income.
AB - Na osnovu agregiranih vremenskih serija (1968-1999 god.) o potrošnji vina u Srbiji, u ovom radu se ocenjuju prelazne verovatnoće diskretnog modela Markova.

AB - Investigations were carried out on 63 cherry plum genotypes collected from different autochthonous populations in Serbia. Morphological and biochemical variability of these genotypes was analyzed by multivariate analysis (cluster analysis and discriminant linear analysis). Cluster analysis showed clear differences between cherry plum genotypes and four distinct clusters were identified. Discriminant linear analysis used ripening time to create timed preliminary groups. Most genotypes of the first (82%) and the third (71%) group from the results of discriminant analysis were correctly classified but fewer of the second group (45%). Four fruit characters, ripening time, length, stone weight and total acid content, are sufficient to explain the diversity between the starting groups and to provide a good classification. Multivariate analysis is a useful system for germplasm evaluation in cherry plum allowing a detail characterization of seedlings in terms of adaptation and productivity. The presence of diversity within the germplasm collection is of great interest in providing valuable materials for breeding aimed at cherry plum improvement for different environments.

AB - Three autochthonous populations of wild sweet cherry (P. avium L.) have been collected from Southwest Serbia. Biochemical and morphological variability in these populations were analyzed. Observed zymograms for five enzyme systems did not show patterns different from sweet cherry cultivars already analyzed. The discrimination effect of eight characters was examined with multivariate analysis. The results of classification obtained according to the linear discriminant functions express a very slight difference between the real and evaluated groups. For effective discrimination, these eight characters can be reduced to only five with more than 90% reliability. These five characters are: fruit maturity, juice colour, tree habit, yield and seed germination.
