AB - The paper presents the results of the impact made by genotype ('Clery', 'Joly' and 'Dely'), fertiliser and harvests on the content of anthocyanins (ACY) and total phenols (TPC) in the fruit of strawberry in 2014. Two types of fertiliser were applied - mineral NPK fertiliser and microbiological fertiliser. Fruit samples for analysis were collected in five harvests, in the full maturity phase. The obtained results have shown that the content of ACY and TPC was under a significant impact of the genotype, fertiliser, harvests and the interaction of these factors as well. Fruit of cultivar 'Joly' had the highest ACY and TPC. In addition to this, significantly higher values of ACY and TPC were recorded with the use of the microbiological fertiliser, compared to the mineral fertiliser. Strawberry fruits harvested in the second half of the harvesting season had a significantly higher total phenols content compared to the fruits harvested at the earlier stages of the season. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the biggest advantages related to both tested parameters (ACY and TPC) were recorded in the interaction between the 'Joly' cultivar, microbiological fertiliser and fourth harvest. In addition to this, certain amounts of mineral fertiliser can be replaced with microbiological fertiliser in order to obtain healthy and environmentally-safe products.

AB - In this study, 150 cornelian cherry accessions originated from natural population on Stara Planina Mountain (Serbia) were characterized using a set of 31 morphological traits. Besides its characterizing and quantifying the variability of its morphological traits, the objective of this study was to identify intra- and inter-population variability and relationships among the accessions and to detect the most useful variables for discrimination. The evaluation was carried out over a period of 3 years. In order to evaluate the phenotypic variability, descriptive statistics, principal components analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis were used. Coefficient of variation (CV) showed the highest values for the number of flower buds per fruiting twig, while the lowest CV being evident in traits involving flowers and stones. PCA shows high discrimination capabilities of variables measured. Most of these variables were fruit and stone characteristics. PCA also evaluated the compactness and the peculiarity of each accession, thus providing information on the mixing level among them within the space of their morphological traits. Cluster analysis revealed grouping of accessions in three main clusters, where clusters with large number of accessions undergo sub-clustering. Separation into clusters and sub-clusters was not in a function of a locality or altitude, but in a function of genotypes. The results of this study indicate that these accessions must be conserved as valuable genetic resources determine and characterize its biodiversity. Also, it was found very important to enrich the cornelian cherry gene pool in order to find several valuable well-adapted genotypes suitable for the production.

AB - In the present paper we investigated contents of heavy metals (As, Pb, Cd and Hg) and health damaging substances (nitrates and nitrites) in fruits of apple 'Idared' grown on different localities in the Čačak region. The cultivar dominates local commercial apple plantings and is the leading apple cultivar produced for both export and domestic markets. Therefore, control of sanitary and health status of produced apple fruits is of key importance. Arsenic (As) content in apple fruits varies among localities, ranging from 0.0035 mg/kg to 0.0071 mg/kg, variation coefficient being from 4.51% to 36.82%. Lead (Pb) content ranged from 0.0035 mg/kg to 0.0807 mg/kg, its variation coefficient being 4.51-11.44%. Cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) contents were within the range 0.0028- 0.0059 mg/kg and 0.0058-0.0076 mg/kg, respectively, their variation coefficients varying by localities between 6.11% and 37.10% and 6.03% and 23.67%, respectively. Nitrates and nitrites content in all samples was below 3 mg/kg of fresh fruit weight. The established contents of heavy metals, nitrates and nitrites was considerably lower than prescribed by Regulation. The obtained results infer that the growing region above is very suitable for commercial apple production in the studied parameters.

AB - In the Stara Planina population, dogwood (Cornus mas L.), is one of the most spreaded fruit species, according to the method developed by Braun-Blanquet, 1964 - it spreads over 80-100% of areas, and it covers 25-50% of surface. In the Stara Planina region, the area Radičevac, the most important biological and pomological traits of dogwood (Cornus mas L.), on randomly selected sample of 30 genotypes, were observed with the aim to recognize biological diversity of this population. Based on important properties of vegetative and generative organs such as tree, fruit branches and flowers, pomological fruit properties and yielding, genotypes 1, 5, and 20 were the most valuable and investigation on them will continue.

AB - The paper presents walnut and hazelnut production. Varieties and selections has been recommended for growing on a larger scale. Domestic walnut varieties and selections proved to be the best.
