Pomological Properties of New Sweet Cherry Cultivars in High Density Planting

Proučavane su osobine 10 novijih sorti trešnje kalemljenih na podlozi Gizela 5 na području Mačve u periodu od tri godine (2008-2010). Kao standard je uzeta sorta Van. Istraživanja su obuhvatala vreme cvetanja i zrenja, rodnost, kao i najvažnije fizičke, hemijske i organoleptičke osobine plodova. Veću rodnost u odnosu na standard ostvarila je jedino sorta Regina, dok je značajno veću krupnoću ploda imalo pet sorti: Peni, Samit, Noar de mečed, Kristalina i Kordija. Bolje organoleptičke osobine od standarda su imale sorte Kordija, Kristalina i Noar de mečed. Ukupno posmatrano, najbolje osobine pokazale su pozne sorte Regina i Kordija, koje se mogu preporučiti za komercijalno gajenje. Pored njih, za gajenje se takođe mogu preporučiti i rana sorta Erli lori, kao i srednje pozna sorta Kristalina.
Pomological properties of 10 sweet cherry cultivars grafted on Gisela 5 rootstock were studied in the region of Macva during a three-year period (2008-2010). Standard cultivar for comparison was ‘Van’. Studies have included time of flowering and maturing, productivity, and important physical, chemical and organoleptic properties of fruits.
Comparing to standard cultivar, higher productivity was achieved only in cultivar ‘Regina’, while a significantly higher fruit size was achieved in five cultivars: ‘Penny’, ‘Summit’, ‘Noire de Meched’, ‘Cristalina’, and ‘Kordia’. The cultivars ‘Kordia’, ‘Cristalina’, and ‘Noire de Meched’ had better organoleptic properties than the standard one.
Overall, the best results were shown by cultivars ‘Regina’ and ‘Kordia’, which can be recommended for commercial cultivation on a larger scale. Besides them, for cultivation the early cultivar Early Lory and the medium late cultivar ‘Cristalina’ may also be recommended.
