dc.description.abstract	In this 2001. year will be celebrated a century of Nobel prizes. This jubillee is a good occasion for saying something about them. Nobel prizes (for physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine, literature and peace) are awarded annually from a fund established under the will of Alfred Nobel. They are open to all, irrespective of nationality, race, creed, or ideology. Their distribution begun on December 10, 1901, the fifth anniversary of A. Nobel's death. The greatest part of the article is dedicated to Nobel prizes in chemistry.	en
