Pomological properties of new self compatible sweet cherry cultivars on Gisela 5 rootstock

Abstract

Pomological properties of seven new self-compatible sweet cherry cultivars were studied during the period of 2008-2009. Van was a check cultivar. Comparing to the check, a higher productivity was achieved by cultivars Vandalay, Sunburst and Glacier, while a higher fruit weight was detected in cultivars Sunburst and Skeena. Overall, the best results were shown by cultivars Sunburst and Skeena, which can be recommended for commercial growing. Cultivars Early Star and Staccato can also be grown on smaller areas. .

Proučavana su svojstva sedam novijih samooplodnih sorti trešnje na području Šapca u periodu od dve godine (2008-2009). Kao standard je uzeta sorta Van. Istraživanja su obuhvatala vreme cvetanja i zrenja, rodnost, kao i najvažnija fizička, hemijska i organoleptička svojstva plodova. Veću rodnost u odnosu na standard ostvarile su sorte Vandalay, Sunburst i Glacier, dok su veću krupnoću ploda imale sorte Sunburst i Skeena. Ukupno posmatrano, najbolja svojstva pokazale su sorte Sunburst i Skeena, koje se mogu preporučiti za komercijalno gajenje. Za gajenje na manjim površinama mogu se preporučiti i sorte Early Star i Staccato. .
