Diffusion techniques on Mueller - Hinton agar as well as dilution technique in Mueller - Hinton broth were applied to test sensitivity of certain bacteria to Carlina acaulis L. root essential oil. Saburaud base was used for testing activity of essential oil against fungi. The results of testing antimicrobial activity using diffusion technique are shown in diameters of zones of inhibition compared to cephalosporin and amino-glucoside antibiotics. The results obtained by dilution technique are shown through minimum bacteria concentration (MBC). It should be concluded that the essential oil had distinctive concentration-dependent antimicrobial activity.en
