Diversity of aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) in Southeastern Serbia

AB  - Aphids represent one of the most significant pest species in agroecosystems. In this study we investigated aphid diversity in Southeastern Serbia. We recorded 132 species, mostly infesting host plants from the families Asteraceae and Rosaceae. The most diverse genus was Aphis Linnaeus with 34 species. Within this genus, the most frequently sampled species was A. fabae Scopoli. Genera Uroleucon Mordvilko, Brachycaudus van der Goot and Dysaphis Börner were also represented by a large number of species.
AB  - Biljne vaši predstavljaju jednu od najznačajnijih grupa štetočina u agroekosistemima. U ovoj studiji istraživali smo raznovrsnost biljnih vaši u jugoistočnoj Srbiji. Zabeležili smo 132 vrste, koje uglavnom zaražavaju biljke domaćine iz porodice Asteraceae i Rosaceae. Najraznovrsniji rod je Aphis Linnaeus sa 34 vrste. U ovom rodu, najčešće uzorkovana vrsta je A. fabae Scopoli. Rodovi Uroleucon Mordvilko, Brachicaudus van der Goot i Disaphis Borner takođe su predstavljeni velikim brojem vrsta.

AB  - This study brings a list of original data of parasitic wasps from the subfamily Aphidiinae collected on the territory of Serbia and Montenegro associated with their aphid hosts and plants. Twenty-three genera and 122 species of Aphidiinae were identified from 204 aphid taxa occurring on 344 plant taxa. A total number of 794 parasitoid-aphid-plant associations is reported and presented alphabetically according to parasitoids classified in four tribes.
AB  - U radu je predstavljena lista originalnih podataka parazitskih osa iz potfamilije Aphidiinae, koje su prikupljene na teritoriji Srbije i Crne Gore zajedno sa biljnim vašima - njihovim domaćinima i biljkama hraniteljkama. Ukupno su identifikovana 23 roda sa 122 vrste parazitskih osa iz 204 afidna domaćina na ukupno 344 biljne vrste. Registrovane su 794 asocijacije parazitoid-vaš- biljka koje su prikazane po abecednom redu u odnosu na parazitoide klasifikovane u četiri tribusa.

AB  - Experiments have been conducted at the Center for Agricultural and Technological Research in Zaječar. Materials research were six genotypes of malting barley, which are fed during the growing season following quantities of nitrogen 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg ha-1. Control was the variant without recharge. The results showed that genotypes respond to increased amounts of nitrogen morphological and biological characteristics, as well as changes in technological value of seeds. Effects of nitrogen were significantly associated with distribution of rainfall during the highest water consumption.
AB  - Ogledi su postavljeni u Centru za poljoprivredna i tehnološka istraživanja u Zaječaru. Materijal istraživanja bilo je šest genotipova pivarskog ječma koji su tokom vegetacionog perioda prihranjivani sledećim količinama azota 40, 60, 80 i 100 kg ha-1. Kao kontrola poslužila je varijanta bez prihranjivanja. Dobijeni rezultati pokazali su da genotipovi reaguju na povećane količine azota promenom morfoloških i bioloških osobina, kao i promenama tehnološke vrednosti semena. Efekti upotrebljenog azota značajno zavise od rasporeda padavina u periodima najveće potrošnje vode.

AB  - A three-year trial (2003-2005) was conducted under agro ecological conditions of Timočka Krajina (the experiment farm of Technological Research Center in Zaječar). Research object were six malting barley genotypes, which were top-dressed with the following amounts of nitrogen in the course of growing season: 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg ha-1. A non-fertilized variant served as a control. The obtained results indicated that the tested genotypes reacted to increased amounts of nitrogen by changing their morphological and biological characteristics as well as the technological values of grain. The effectiveness of the applied nitrogen depended significantly on the distribution of rainfall in periods of highest water uptake by malting barley.
AB  - Trogodišnji ogledi (2003-2005) su izvedeni u Centru za poljoprivredna i tehnološka istraživanja u Zaječaru. Materijal istraživanja bilo je šest genotipova pivarskog ječma koji su tokom vegetacionog perioda prihranjivani sledećim količinama azota 40, 60, 80 i 100 kg ha-1. Kao kontrola poslužila je varijanta bez prihranjivanja. Production characteristics of different malting barley genotypes in intensive nitrogen fertilization

AB  - Two-year trials have been conducted in Technological Research Center in Zajecar. Research objects were six malting barley genotypes. The experimental crop was top dressed with the following amounts of nitrogen: 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg ha-1. The control variant was not top dressed. The obtained results showed that the genotypes reacted significantly to the increased amounts of nitrogen by changing their production characteristics and seed quality. In addition, the genotypes demonstrated certain varietal differences. A new genotype, Premijum, was highest yielding and it had the lowest total proteins in the grain. The genotype NS-525 had the highest 1000-grain weight (46.8 g). The effect of nitrogen on the studied characteristics depended on N quantity applied. Increasing amounts of nitrogen decrease positive effects on spike length, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and yield. However, the protein content in grain kept increasing to the highest nitrogen dose, which lowered the quality of malting barley. The highest yield was obtained by applying 80 and 100 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, depending on the year of study.
AB  - Dvogodišnja istraživanja izvedena su na poljima Centar za poljoprivredna i tehnološka istraživanja u Zaječaru. Predmet istraživanja bila su šest genotipova pivarskog ječma. Za prihranjivanje useva korišćene su sledeće količine azota 40, 60, 80 i 100 kg ha-1. Kontrola je bila varijanta bez prihranjivanja. Dobijeni rezultati pokazali su da genotipovi značajno reaguju na povećane količine azota promenom proizvodnih osobina i kvaliteta semena. Pri tome su ispoljene određene sortne razlike. Novi genotip Premijum bio je najrodniji i sa najmanje ukupnih proteina u zrnu. Najveću masu 1000 zrna (46,8 g) imao je genotip NS-525. Efekti azota na ispitivane osobine zavise od upotrebljene količine. Sa rastućim količinama opada pozitivan efekat na dužinu klasa, broj zrna u klasu, masu 1000 zrna i prinos. Međutim sadržaj proteina u zrnu je rastao do najveće doze azota, čime se pogoršava kvalitet pivarskog ječma. U zavisnosti od godine ispitivanja, najveći prinos zrna dobijen je ishranom biljaka sa 80 odnosno 100 kg ha-1 azota.

The genotype NS-525 had the highest 1000-grain weight (46.8 g). The effect of nitrogen on the studied characteristics depended on N quantity applied. Increasing amounts of nitrogen decrease positive effects on spike length, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and yield. However, the protein content in grain kept increasing to the highest nitrogen dose, which lowered the quality of malting barley. The highest yield was obtained by applying 80 and 100 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, depending on the year of study., Dvogodišnja istraživanja izvedena su na poljima Centar za poljoprivredna i tehnološka istraživanja u Zaječaru. Predmet istraživanja bila su šest genotipova pivarskog ječma. Za prihranjivanje useva korišćene su sledeće količine azota 40, 60, 80 i 100 kg ha-1. Kontrola je bila varijanta bez prihranjivanja. Dobijeni rezultati pokazali su da genotipovi značajno reaguju na povećane količine azota promenom proizvodnih osobina i kvaliteta semena. Pri tome su ispoljene određene sortne razlike. Novi genotip Premijum bio je najrodniji i sa najmanje ukupnih proteina u zrnu. Najveću masu 1000 zrna (46,8 g) imao je genotip NS-525. Efekti azota na ispitivane osobine zavise od upotrebljene količine. Sa rastućim količinama opada pozitivan efekat na dužinu klasa, broj zrna u klasu, masu 1000 zrna i prinos. Međutim sadržaj proteina u zrnu je rastao do najveće doze azota, čime se pogoršava kvalitet pivarskog ječma. U zavisnosti od godine ispitivanja, najveći prinos zrna dobijen je ishranom biljaka sa 80 odnosno 100 kg ha-1 azota.",

AB  - In recent times the interest in the use of naked barley in direct human consumption and industrial processing has been increased. This is, first of all, based on the fact that naked barley presents a rich source of nutritive plant fibres and that it is not necessary to remove hull mechanically. Naked barley cultivation had not been tradition in Serbia, and therefore naked barley breeding programmes have been implemented in our institutes since 1990s. Tested germplasm originating from Asia, Africa and America was introduced, crosses were performed and first inbreds and varieties of naked barley were derived. This paper presents some agronomic traits of introduced naked barley germplasm from the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) ) and domestic naked barley lines of a recent development in comparison with covered barley varieties under agroecological conditions of eastern Serbia.
AB  - Poslednjih desetak godina u svetu raste interes za upotrebom golozrnog ječma u direktnoj ljudskoj ishrani i industrijskoj preradi. Razlog za to je pre svega što golozrni ječam predstavlja bogat izvor rastvorljivih biljnih vlakana i da nije potrebno mehanički odvajati plevice. U Srbiji ne postoji tradicija gajenja ovog varijeteta ječma zbog čega su u domaćim institutima devedesetih godina prošlog veka zasnovani programi oplemenjivanja golozrnog ječma. Introdukovana je i testirana germplazma iz Azije, Afrike i Amerike, izvršena su ukrštanja i stvorene prve linije i sorte golozrnog ječma. U radu su prikazane neke agronomske osobine linija golozrnog ječma proeklom iz Мeđunarodnog Centra za poljoprivredna istraživanja u sušnim reonima (ICARDA), Sirija, i novostvorenih linija golozrnog ječma u poređenju sa sortama plevičastog ječma u agroekološkim uslovima istočne Srbije.
