AB - In Serbia during 2021, organic crop production was performed on the area of 23,527 ha. The area of 2121.6 ha on which industrial crops were grown ranked fourth comparing to the total arable area sown with organic crops. Soya bean is one of the most important legumes, primarily because of the exceptional chemical composition of the grain (40% proteins and 20% oil). This manuscript reveals the analyses and graphic presentation of the area trends and the regional distribution of organic soya bean production in Serbia in the 2011-2021 period. The desk research was applied. Organic farming of soya bean is carried out on the area of 481 ha, right behind the leading sunflower (1,165 ha). In the region of Vojvodina, there are the largest areas on which organic growth of soya bean is performed. However, the organic soya bean production in Serbia is still insignificant, despite favourable agroecological conditions and market demands.

AB - In Serbia, in 2021, organic crop production was performed on the area of 23,527 ha. The organic cereal production was carried out on the area of 4.458,69 ha - the dominant role belonged to wheat, which was grown on the area of 1.581,18 ha, and was followed by rye (879,08 h), spelt wheat (491,79 ha) and barley (398,52 ha). The aim of this study was to show the range of areas under organic barley production in Serbia and to show the regional distribution for the 2011-2021 period. Data were obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia. The following methods were used in the study: desk research, content analysis, comparative analyses and analyses of base and chain indices. The largest production of barley in 2021 was recorded in the region of Vojvodina (358.09 ha). Although natural conditions for barley production in Serbia are exceptionally favourable, natural potentials have not been sufficiently used.

AB - The most important hunting game species found in majority of established hunting grounds in the Republic of Serbia are roe deer, wild boar and hare. The objective of this paper is to determine abundance, shooting rate and income generated by managing mentioned game populations in Serbia. On the basis of data of the Republican Bureau of Statistics of Serbia the records on abundance and shooting rate in game species in the 2011-2021 period were collected. The value of shot animals has been determined both on the basis of market pricelist of the Hunting Association of Serbia for the 2021/22 hunting year and according to the structure of animals shot per certain game categories obtained in previous research.
Shooting rate realized in relation to overall roe deer abundance in 2021 was 7.90% with the shooting value reaching 1,106,724 euros. Wild boar abundance index recorded population growth of even 33.53% in 2021 and percentage of population utilization accounted for 63.83% while value of shooting reached 834,509 euros being three times higher than the income of shooting established in 2011. Hare population abundance has recorded a drastic fall and this decreasing trend has been reflected also in a reduced shooting rate thus in 2021 the value of shooting rate of hare was 676,625 euros. The results of the analysis of abundance, shooting rate and trends regarding their values make a basis for indicating a direction of improvement and the measures to enhance the management of these game species populations.

425,56 ha.

AB - Consumers in many countries express increased expectations associated with food quality. When their satisfaction is not achieved, they may raise a complaint. The main aim of this study was to analyze the overall perception of food quality and complaints associated with poor food quality. In parallel, this study categorized food quality and complaint attributes based on a Kano model. Finally, this research also examined food properties that are key contributors to consumer complaints as well as complaint resolution actions in handling complaints. To perform this research, a field survey was conducted with 844 interviewees from the Republic of Serbia. Food products perceived to be of the highest quality were spices, cereals, and confectioneries, opposed to meat and ready-to-eat meals scoring lowest. Food odor is recognized as a perfect dissatisfaction attribute (associated with food spoilage). A cluster analysis revealed two clusters dependent on age and education of the respondents. The ‘demanding consumers’ are not satisfied with taste, odor, color, and physical appearance of purchased food, opposed to the ‘tolerant consumers’ with no quality issues. The majority of respondents expects some compensation in case of complaints associated with poor quality but didn’t raise any oral or written complaints lately. In case of complaints, a perfect resolution action is product replacement. This survey revealed that taste and odor are highly ranked reasons for complaints, that the younger population is more tolerant to low quality and that the type of food is in correlation with complaints and perception of food quality. © 2022, Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (BVL).

AB - Organic agricultural production enables the production of controlled, certified, safe, and high-quality food, and at the same time it provides high economic and ecological profit and preserves a healthy environment. Consumer interests in products of organic origin have been steadily growing for twenty years. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of the situation in the global organic food market, as well as to point out the most important motives for consumers to decide on the consumption of organically produced foods. All countries around the world record a trend of continual organic food and beverage market growth. In some countries this growth is expressed with doubledigit numbers. The United States is the largest organic food market, with a total of 35.8 trillion euros. Fruits, vegetables, bread, cereals, drinks, milk and meat have the biggest share in the organic food market in all countries of the world. Fresh fruits take the first position in international trade. Although the production and sale of organic food is concentrated in highly developed countries, less developed countries are becoming important producers and exporters of organic products.
AB - Organska poljoprivredna proizvodnja omogućava proizvodnju kontrolisane, sertifikovane, zdravstveno bezbedne, a pritom jako kvalitetne hrane, uz ostvarenje visokog ekonomskog i ekološkog profita i očuvanja zdrave životne sredine. Sve zemlje širom sveta beleže trend kontinuiranog rasta tržišta organske hrane i pića, dok je u nekim zemljama ovo povećanje dvocifreno.

AB - Unlike conventional agriculture, organic farming, as a form of sustainable agriculture, and its production methods preserve and upgrade biodiversity of the soil and biodiversity of the entire ecosystem by protecting the environment, plants, and human health. It appeared at the beginning of XX century in Poland and has been spreading in many countries worldwide ever since. In 2015, this type of agricultural production was implemented at a global level on an area of 50.9 million ha. The largest areas are located in Oceania (22.8 mil. ha) and Europe (12.7 mil. ha), whereas grass areas make up the most, and arable land makes up only 15% there of. In the period 2014-2015, the area increased by 6.5 mil. ha at the global level. In 2015, the largest increase was recorded in Oceania (23.2%) and in 98 countries around the world, while a decrease was recorded in 32 countries. Europe performs ¼ of the world's organic production. In Serbia, organic production makes up 15298 ha (13398 ha belongs to arable land, 1899 ha to meadows and pastures). The largest number of producers is located in Vojvodina, and in Western and Southern Serbia. Cereals have a leading role with a production area of 2182.89 ha. Having in mind the great potentials for organic production in Serbia, experts' plan for the next decade is to increase the area for this type of agricultural production by 20%.
AB - The aim of this research was to analyze intellectual capital in Serbian fruit companies with respect to size, fruit sector, and certification status. Representatives from 75 companies were interviewed. Survey data were analyzed through 56 items, grouped into three sub-categories of intellectual capital: human capital, structural capital, and relational capital. This study provides insight into how the fruit industry in a developing country perceives intellectual capital and demonstrates the use of developed models from other industries in the food industry. The novelty of this approach was the dimension reduction of intellectual capital factors into two distinct directions, namely, customer quality' and stakeholder quality', confirming quality as a dominant basis for both customers and stakeholders. Micro companies and non-certified companies are focused on customers, while medium-sized and certified companies are focused on satisfying requirements from all stakeholders. This study provides insight for engineering managers engaged in using intellectual capital models in the food/fruit industry. The presented model explores the potential of intellectual capital in determining quality improvement opportunities and improving company performance.

This study provides insight for engineering managers engaged in using intellectual capital models in the food/fruit industry. The presented model explores the potential of intellectual capital in determining quality improvement opportunities and improving company performance.",

AB - The subject of this paper are the factors affecting the decision of wine tourists to take a trip to a particular destination. These factors can be divided into internal (push) and external (pull) factors. The purpose of this study is to determine the development potential as well as the factors that influence participation in wine tourism in Tri Morave sub-region. In order to do that, two researches were conducted: one on the offer side and another on the demand side. Based on the results of the survey on the offer side, one can conclude that Tri Morave sub-region abounds in natural and anthropological resources that should be turned into an integrated wine product. On the other hand, research concerning tourist demand was conducted by polling winery visitors. The obtained data confirms assumptions about the appearance of modern tourists seeking authentic experience, satisfaction of hedonistic needs, and enjoyment of high-quality wine and food. Based on the results of the survey, the purchase of wine and wine tasting are the highest ranked benefits that tourists expect from visits to wineries. The application of Spearman's correlation coefficient points to statistically significant correlation between respondents, who referred to tasting, wine purchase, and authentic tourist experience as the basic motives of their visit, and future behavior of tourists in terms of revisiting and recommendations of the given wine destination to friends.
Prikupljeni podaci potvrđuju pretpostavke o pojavi modernog turiste u potrazi za autentičnim iskustvom, zadovoljenjem hedonističkih potreba i uživanjem u kvalitetnom vinu i hrani.

AB - After transitional debacles and failures, structural degradation and recession, reindustrialization is imposed as a crucial stage in the economic development of Serbia. The production-market potentials of the agro-complex (as a complex economic subsystem of pre-farm, farm and post-farm activities) and its place in the national economy open the significant possibilities of the revitalization of the industries of agrarian inputs (agricultural machines and equipment, mineral fertilizers and pesticides). Considering the structural significance of the pre-farm agrarian sector in the Serbian economy, this paper analyzes the fundamental features of production and the foreign-trade exchange, especially the dynamics and changes in the volume and structure of production and the import of agrarian inputs. On that basis, through a target comparative analysis of multi-year data series (1986-2011), the paper explores the trends of production and employment, identifies transitional distortions and the growing import dependence of the Serbian economy and the agro-complex in particular, considers the agrarian potentials in a possible reindustrialization primarily via the revitalization of the industry of agrarian inputs, and highlights a special phenomenon of the opportunity costs of the Serbian agrarian development.
Proizvodno- tržišni potencijali agrokompleksa (kao složenog privrednog subsistema predfarmskih, farmskih i postfarmskih delatnosti) i njegovo mesto u nacionalnoj ekonomiji, otvara značajne mogućnosti revitalizacije industrija agrarnih inputa (poljoprivrednih mašina i opreme, mineralnih đubriva i pesticida). Sagledavajući strukturni značajpredfarmskog agrarnog sektora u srpskoj ekonomiji, u radu se analiziraju osnovna obeležja proizvodnje i spoljnotrgovinske razmene, posebno dinamika ipromene obima i strukture proizvodnje i uvoza agrarnih inputa.

AB - Due to its characteristic, apart from nutritive and medical significance, raspberry is particularly important for our country in social and economic terms, since its export attracts foreign currency inflow. Since the quality of raspberry decreases rapidly after picking, it is utterly important that the whole process, from picking to cold storage of fruit, should be rationally organized, thus finally reducing the costs and increasing the production value. For these reasons precisely the research deals with organization of the entire process, from repurchase to cold storage of raspberry fruits, as well as the analysis of pertaining costs. Necessary information for the preparation of the paper has been obtained from cold storage plants engaged in raspberry storage and preservation. Necessary information has been gathered using several methods, viz: observation, interview and content analysis methods. Furthermore, analysis, comparison and calculation methods have also been used in the preparation of the paper. The raspberry fruit repurchase, transport and storage costs range from 1,6 to 1,8 EUR per kg, exclusive of storage (store-housing). To this one should add store-housing costs ranging from 0,009 to 0,013 EUR per kg on a monthly basis. Modern organization of production and communication between producers, repurchasers, processors and exporters is essential in order to decrease fluctuations in repurchase and sales price of fresh raspberry and its products and the improvement of overall financial effect of all links within the chain of this economy activity. Cold storage plants, even if of minor capacities, are beneficial not only for the immediate participants in the producer-buyer chain, but it also makes an important stimulating factor for rural development and economy of the country.

abstract = "Due to its characteristic, apart from nutritive and medical significance, raspberry is particularly important for our country in social and economic terms, since its export attracts foreign currency inflow. Cold storage plants, even if of minor capacities, are beneficial not only for the immediate participants in the producer-buyer chain, but it also makes an important stimulating factor for rural development and economy of the country., Malina, zahvaljujući osobina kojima se odlikuje, pored nutritivnog i zdravstvenog, kroz devizni priliv koji se ostvaruje njenim izvozom, za našu zemlju ima i naročit društveni i ekonomski značaj. AB - The trends in the global food market are now influenced by the increasing demand for the quality and safe products. Consumers expect the suppliers not only to conform to the quality standard of products and services but also to show how the quality is managed. Recently, such trends have actualized the issue of implementation and certification of quality standards in the food sector in our country, and consequently in the production and processing of fruit. The issue becomes more significant when the fact is considered that the demand for fresh and processed fruits is increasing. The growth trend could be expected to continue in the future, given the increase of the population and awareness of the importance of consumption of these types of food products for human health. Since almost all prerequisites for the successful realization of this production exist in the Republic of Serbia, development opportunities should be identified in said facts. Taking into account the importance of aforementioned issues, the research was conducted in order to determine the overall climate in relation to the implementation of quality standards, including the need for and the necessity of the application of these standards in the fruit production and processing in the Republic of Serbia. The research explored in-depth the impact of the implementation of quality standards on the organisational and economic aspects of the fruit production and processing. The changes required for the standard to be implemented were analyzed and evaluated, occurring problems, potential challenges, as well as the impact of these changes on the business operations. The research covered a sample of 127 businesses. Methods used for the collection, processing and analysis of data and the related literature, are observation, content analysis, the historical research method, interviews, questionnaires, table analysis, the hypothetical-deductive model, the descriptive method, the comparative method, analysis and synthesis. The results are presented in the form of simple descriptive statistics. Other methods used are the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Levene’s test, analysis of variance, the Mann-Whitney U test, the Chi-square test and the Spearman Correlation test...
AB - The global growing tendency of lamb and mutton meat production has been emphasized. The fastest growing meat production industry on a global level is lamb and mutton meat production. Lamb meat production increase is primarily based on genetic improvement of sheep breeds, reproduction management and disease reduction. The new Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development in Serbia from 2014 to 2024 defines goals and priorities for further development of agriculture. One of priority topics is the promotion of organic production. Organic lamb production is a great opportunity for rural regions development. Botanical composition analyses, as well as plants nutrition value, have shown that natural resources of regions in Serbia have great potentials for organic lamb production.
Basic principles of organic production promote well adapted, autochthonous breeds. Various types of Zackel sheep are important genetic resources, evolutionary adapted on specific conditions and extreme climate. The study evaluated the value of various types of Zackel sheep populations in the regions where they are traditionally reared with special emphasis on some traits such as health status and robustness, important for organic production. Disease frequency analysis in different Zackel type populations has shown that gastrointestinal parasitic infections represent the main health problem in sheep farming. The introduction of veterinary medicine standards in organic sheep production is a great challenge. Considering that conventional prevention and medication are forbidden in organic production, veterinary control of parasitic infections is not satisfying. Our investigations are focused on preventive measure and genetic resistance/tolerance to parasitic infections of various types of Zackel sheep as very important for organic lamb production.

AB - The wide range of walnut application makes it one of the most appreciated fruit species. In 2008, Serbian government started providing subsidies for every planted walnut seedling. These incentives have already increased the interest in this type of seedlings on the market. One of the main objectives of each farm is to maximize economic results. For a family farm, there are many alternatives on how to accomplish this objective. The decision making analysis has been done on the basis of the case study for the typical small family farm that produces walnut seedlings, located in the central part of Serbia. One of the options for the farm is to proceed to use current technology, while the other possibility is to be reduced some of production operations. A third alternative is to give up the seedlings production and to put that money in the bank as savings. The decision has to be made between those three alternatives aiming at achievement of optimal/best economic result for the family farm. Summarizing results obtained from the decision tree, simulation and sensitivity analysis, the optimal solution for the family farm should be to continue production of walnut seedlings with technology it is currently using.

AB - Small agricultural producers have a very important role in production and trading of fruits. Due to low buying and selling prices, as well as strong competitiveness they had to find the way to preserve and sell their products at the moment when it is possible to achieve the highest selling prices on the market. In order to provide long-term preservation and good quality of fruits until the moment of placing on the market they decided to set up ULO cold storage facility. The paper presents construction costs of ULO cold storage facility on the example of the cooperative 'Slankamenka' from Slankamen, as well as the advantages of this kind of cold storage in comparison to classical kind of cold storage facility for fruits preservation.
AB - Mali poljoprivredni proizvođači imaju značajnu ulogu u proizvodnji i prometu voća.

abstract = "Small agricultural producers have a very important role in production and trading of fruits. The paper presents construction costs of ULO cold storage facility on the example of the cooperative 'Slankamenka' from Slankamen, as well as the advantages of this kind of cold storage in comparison to classical kind of cold storage facility for fruits preservation., Mali poljoprivredni proizvođači imaju značajnu ulogu u proizvodnji i prometu voća. AB - Adequate resource management represents the basic precondition for successful agricultural production. The majority of municipalities in which agriculture represent the primary activity are facing the significant dispersal of human and other natural resources. It is unreal to expect that local self-government can stop the negative trends by itself. There is an encouraging fact that in many municipalities there are agriculture development programmes, and agrarian funds were established to supports perspective households, financially and on some other ways. This kind of approach, where producers are not left on their own, but supported to organize, to make connections with suppliers and buyers, financial and scientific institutions, relatively fast gives the results. Supporters of individual households stimulates younger population to stay in villages and to work in agriculture. Wider aspect of such approach considers stopping or slow downing the process of land deterioration, and more efficient and effective usage of agricultural areas.

AB - Intensive and high-quality fruit production can not be realized without qualitative and well organized fruit trees production. Due to that fact, fruit trees production can be considered as the basis of fruit production. Within analyzed period (2002 - 2004) in fruit trees production unsatisfactory financial result had been realized (43.922 dinars). However, in spite of constant growth of production costs and insignificant growth of production value, in average, there had been realized economical production (economy coefficient 1,05). In average, it means that with 1 dinar of production costs there had been realized 1,05 dinars of production value.
