AB - Polydrusus (Polydrusus) picus ssp. picus (Fabricius, 1792) which belongs to the family of weevils (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) has been recorded in a high number during the spring 2017 in Belgrade area, Serbia. The adults were detected on aronia plants firstly, and than on strawberry plants and Celltis occidentalis L. leaves. The most of them were found feeding on the youngest leaves. On aronia and C. occidentalis plants, adults fed on young leaves along the periphery of the leaf blade and between the veins. On strawberry plants, adults fed on the same way on young leaves, but also damaged the leaf petioles, sepals, floral and fructal peduncles. High number of adults were found on aronia plants, but the most significant damages were detected on strawberry plants.

AB - The effects of population densities (10, 25, 50 and 100 adults/50 g) and three diet types (protein-rich, carbohydrates-rich and compound feed) on life parameters (first emergence, development rate, number of progeny and body weight) of T. castaneum progeny were assessed. For each diet type and population density unsexed adults were allowed to feed and oviposit for 7 days before removal. No progeny developed on protein-rich diets (sunflower meal, soybean concentrate, and corn gluten). In carbohydrates-rich diets (corn feed flour, wheat bran, coarse wheat) and compound feed for pigs and laying hens, first adults required the least time to emerge in wheat bran and control diet (wheat flour + 5% yeast) (15.2-16.5 days), and the longest in corn feed flour (23.1-24.5 days). In wheat bran and control diets, the adult emergence period was the shortest (15.7 and 15.2 days) at the initial population densities of 100 and 50 adults/50 g, and significantly longest (16.5 and 16 days) at the lowest density. Conversely, adults fed on feed for hens diet emerged the latest, after 22.5 days, at the population density of 100 adults/50 g, and the earliest, after 18.6 days, at 25 adults/50 g. The shortest period of adult emergence at all population densities was found in the control (15.9-20.2 days) and wheat bran (18 -29.7 days), and the longest in feed for hens (56.2 days) and pigs (59.5 days) at the highest population density. Considering all densities, number of progeny were the highest in control diet (498-1226 adults) and wheat bran (354-1344 adults), and lowest in coarse wheat (220-300 adults). With increasing population density, progeny body weight decreased, and the highest weight was found in control diet and wheat bran (1.7 and 1.6 mg) at the lowest population density, and the lowest weight (1.0 mg) in hen and pig feeds at the highest density.

AB - Leucopomyia silesiaca (Egger, 1862) is a small, greyish-black fly from Chamaemyiidae (Diptera) family. The larvae of this species prey on the eggs in the ovisac of scale insects from the Coccidae, Pseudococcidae, Eriococcidae families. In Serbia, the presence of Leucopomyia silesiaca larvae have been registered in the ovisacs of two soft scale species, namely: Pulvinaria vitis on grapevine, and Pulvinaria floccifera on ivy. The larvae which feed by sucking the eggs have been found in May, pupae at the end of May, and imago at the beginning of June. The whole fly life cycle was completed in the ovisacs of these scale insects. The species was determined on the basis of the fly's morphological traits, especially male genitalia. In one ovisac of P. vitis, there were from one to four fly larvae, while in the ovisac of P. floccifera, only one larva was present. The fly larvae were present in 710% of the examined P. vitis ovisacs, and in 15% of the examined P. floccifera ovisacs.

AB - Planococcus vovae (Nassonov) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) is an important pest on plants of the family Cupressaceae. Its numerous populations have been present in recent years on Juniperus spp. in Belgrade. Feeding by sap-sucking on all aboveground plant organs, it causes growth stagnation, chlorosis, drying of needles and branches, and even of entire plants under heavy infestation. Additionally, the scale excretes large quantities of honeydew, on which sooty mold develops, reducing photosynthesis and causing faster plant deterioration. Throughout 2007 and 2008, P. vovae was recorded on Juniperus spp. in 12 localities in Belgrade, and on Thuja sp. in a single locality. The pest was found to develop three generations per year and overwinter on branches at the egg or second instar stages. The first generation adults were observed at the end of May, the second generation at the beginning of August, while the third generation was recorded at the beginning of October. Different overwintering modes, and variable oviposition, embryonic and larval development periods led to an overlapping of generations and continuous presence of all developmental stages on plants. In different localities the infestation of plants varied in abundance from a few individual specimens to very large colonies. The highest infestation intensity was recorded in the localities Bežanija, Dorćol and Voždovac. The predatory species Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) and Nephus bipunctatus (Kugelann) (Coleoptera: Coccinelidae) were found in the scale colonies. Regarding N. bipunctatus, this was its first record as a new species in the Serbian fauna.
AB - Apalus bimaculatus (Linnaeus, 1761), which belongs to the family of blister beetles (Coleoptera: Meloidae) has been recorded for the first time in Serbia. It was found in February 2013, in an urban Belgrade area, in the locality of Zemun. Its life cycle is connected with the solitary bee species Colletes cunicularius (Linnaeus) (Hymenoptera: Colletidae), which was found one month later in the same place. Collected adults of A. bimaculatus were reared in laboratory until the first instar larvae - triungulin larvae hatched out from the laid eggs.

AB - Spruce bud scale, Physokermes piceae, develops on the genus Picea. Large colonies of this species are constantly present on Picea abies in green areas in the Belgrade territory, causing the drying of needles, branches and whole plants. Therefore, Ph. piceae is a significant spruce pest. Spruce scales attract many entomophagous insects able to reduce pest population. Parasitoid wasps Coccophagus lycimnia (Walk) (Aphelinidae) and Microterys lunatus (Dalm.) (Encyrtidae) were reared. Predators Exochomus quadripustulatus L., Scymnus abietis Paykull (Coccinellidae) and Anthribus nebulosus Forster (Anthribidae) were determined. Both species of ladybird were confirmed as predators of Ph. piceae for the first time in Serbia, while S. abietis is a new species for the fauna of Serbia. The most effective natural enemy of Ph. piceae was A. nebulosus, reducing populations by 68-80%.

AB - The most important scale insects on berry fruit trees in Serbia are Aulacaspis rosae Bouche, Epidiaspis leperii Signoret, Lepidosaphes ulmi Linnaeus, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targ. & Tozz., Diaspidiotus perniciosus Comstock and Chionaspis salicis (L.). These species are registered in private orchards and on individual plants in some lowland and mountain localities in Serbia. The scales are physiological pests. Sucking juice from all overground plant organs they provoke plant feebleness which results in decrease of growing, flowering, fruitfulness, even drying of brunches or whole plants, especially seedlings. Such plants are liable for the attack from many secondary pests and pathogens. During our investigations, the most important scales on berry fruit trees were Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targ. & Tozz., on gooseberry-bush, red currant-bush and mulberry-tree and Chionaspis salicis (L.) on cranberry and blueberry. These species were found in a large number which provoked drying of brunches even whole infested plants. The most important measure in the prevention of armored scale insects is spreading to provide healthy plant material. Winter sprinkling with preparations based on mineral oil can be used to control scales. During vegetation period, when the first instars emerge, preparations based on azinphos-methyl, methomyl, dimethoat can be applied.

AB - In recent years, in more localities in Serbia, on apple and pear plantations, drying of primary shoots has been registered. Agents of this drying are two harmful insect species insufficiently known in Serbia, pear shoot wasp Janus compressus and fruit longhorn beetle Tetrops praeusta. Injuries on primary shoots emerge first in the period of oviposition and then during the development of larval feeding inside the primary shoot. In the beginning apexes wilt and stoop downward, and later darken and necrotize. Later during vegetation leaves on primary shoots dry and fall, so primary shoots, i.e. twigs remain naked and dry. Damages are particularly significant in plantations and on young plants. Attack symptoms remind of the fire blight symptoms caused by bacteria Erwinia amylovora. This paper discribes basic morphological traits of both species, their life cycle and distribution in Serbia.

AB - In Serbia, Stelidota geminata is for the first time found in 2011, in strawberry plantations on ripe fruits. Specimens of this species and strawberry fruits damages are established during harvest (last decade of May till beginning of July) in localities Gornja Bukovica (region of Valjevo) and Kaluđerica (region of Belgrade). The origin of this species is in USA where it is a serious strawberry pest known as 'Strawberry Sap Beetle'. About twenty years ago it has been accidentaly introduced in Europe. Both, adults and larvae of S. geminata feed on strawberry fruits, but the main damages originate by adults feeding. In harvest time the smell of ripen fruits attract adults from various hidden over wintering places. They feed on fruits making a deep cavities in which females lay eggs. Larvae feed in fruits too, but during their feeding and development, fruits are already damaged and decomposed. Mature larvae fall on the ground and pupate in pupal cell inside the soil. Second generation develops on fruits of various plants, and new imagoes hibernate on different hidden places. Because the harvest of damaged and decomposed strawberry fruits is impossible, an economical losses may be large. In fauna of Serbia Stelidota geminata is a new species.

AB - The scale insect, Carulaspis juniperi (Bouche) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae), is a significant pest on juniper (Juniperus spp.). Its population number has increased in the Belgrade area in recent years. It is present in large numbers on plant twigs, needles and cones, and causes a slowdown in growth, needle chlorosis and premature needle fall, the loss of aesthetic value, drying of branches and whole plants. The presence and attack intensity of C. juniperi were determined on Juniperus spp. in 19 localities in the Belgrade area in 2007 and 2008. Its life cycle and harmfulness were also studied. C. juniperi develops one generation per year and overwinters as a fertilized female on juniper branches and needles. Oviposition starts at the end of April and beginning of May. The number of eggs laid by a single female is 16- 44. First instar larvae hatch in May and second instars appear at the beginning of June. At the end of June and in July males and females form. After copulation the males die and the fertilized females remain on the plants feeding until overwintering.

AB - The most important scale in sects on stone fruit-trees in Serbia are Pseuda - ulacaspis pentagona (Targioni-Tozzetti) and Epidiaspis leperii (Signoret) from the family Diaspididae, and Parthenolecanium corni (Bouche) and Parthenolecanium persicae (Fabricius) from the family Coccidae. These species are present in a higher population number in extensive orchards, provoking the greatest damages on peach, plum and apricot trees. In recent years in Serbia, Ps. pentagona has been appearing in very large populations and with noticeable damages on peach trees in extensive, as well as intensive orchards. Scale insects are physiological pests. Sucking the plant sap mainly from stem and branches they exhaust the plant, and as a result some branches as well as the whole tree may dry out. A larger number of parasitoid and predator species are registered in the colonies of these scales in Serbia. Their efficiency in the reduction of populations of these scales can be above 45%. The most important measure in the prevention of scale insects' spreading is to provide healthy plant material. Winter sprinkling with preparations based on mineral oil can be used to control scales. During vegetation period, when the first in stars emerge, preparations based on methidathion, azinphos-methyl, methomyl, buprofezin and selective insecticides based on fenoxycarb can be applied in order to preserve the natural enemies. .

AB - Five parasitoid and five predator species were registered on four armored scale species in apple, pear, peach and plum orchards at 16 sites in Serbia. The armored scales found were: Diaspidiotus perniciosus (Comstock), Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targioni-Tozzetti), Epidiaspis leperii (Signoret) and Lepidosaphes ulmi (L.). The parasitoid species detected were: Encarsia (=Prospaltella) perniciosi (Tow.), Encarsia (=Prospaltella) berlesei (How.), Aphytis proclia (Wal.), Aphytis mytilaspidis (Le Baron) and Coccobius testaceus (Masi), all of the Aphelinidae family. The most important endoparasitoids were: Encarsia perniciosi on D. perniciosus, Encarsia berlesei on P. pentagona and Coccobius testaceus on L. ulmi. Only one ectoparasitoid species, Aphytis mytilaspidis, was found on E. leperii, while Aphytis proclia was found as an ectoparasitoid on D. perniciosus, P. pentagona and L. ulmi. The predator species detected were: Chilocorus renipustulatus (Scriba), Chilocorus bipustulatus (L.), Cybocephalus fodori Endrody - Younga, Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) and Deraeocoris ruber (L.). Cybocephalus fodori was for the first time found as a predator on E. leperii in Serbia.

AB - Five parasitoid and five predator species were registered on P. pentagona on 12 localities in Serbia and 27 in the area of Belgrade during 1997-2000. The parasitoid species registered were: Prospaltella berlesei (Howard), Aphytis proclia (Walker), Zaomma lambinus (Walker), Azotus perspeciosus (Girault) and Oomyzus scaposus (Thomson), and the first three species were primary parasitoids of mulberry scale. P. berlesei and A. proclia were found to be the most important regulators of P. pentagona population density with parasitism mounting to 60, even 64%. The predator species determined were Chilocorus renipustulatus Scriba, Chilocorus bipustulatus L., Cybocephalus fodori Endrody-Younga, Chrysopa carnea Stephens and Deraeocoris ruber Linnaeus. The species C. fodori and C. carnea were found on mulberrry scale in Serbia for the first time. Until now D. ruber was unknown as P. pentagona predator in both domestic and international literature.
AB - U periodu 1997-2000. godine na 12 lokaliteta u Srbiji i 27 lokacija na području Beograda i šire okoline, registrovano je pet vrsta parazitoida i pet vrsta predatora na Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targioni-Tozzetti. AB - The strawberry plants damage, caused by larvae of Coroebus elatus F. and Otiorrhynchus rugosostriatus Goeze is established in 2005. in the locality Malo Orašje (region of Smederevo). C. elatus has one generation and overwinters as a larva in the root. O. rugosostriatus overwinters in different larval instars in the soil. Adults of both species feed on strawberry leaves but without serious damages. The larvae, however, are very harmful. Larva of C. elatus makes spiral galeries throught the root, but O. rugosostriatus larvae feed on the root and also bore into the central part of a root. Infested plants have yellow and wither leaves and than the whole plants died. Control of C. elatus and O. rugosostriatus is possible by removing and destroying infested plants and spontaneous plants of Rosaceae. Chemical control can be used only after harvest and in the period of adults activity.

AB - Over 1991-1992, the presence of Epidiaspis leperii Signoret was monitored in the plantings and individual orchards at 19 localities in Serbia. The biology of the species was recorded on apple and pear at the Družetić locality. The intensity of the attack was determined according to the ocular fifth power system by Borhsenius (1963). The study proved Epidiaspis leperii to have one generation annually and to over winter as a sexually mature female. The longevity of specific stages in development and duration of a generation depend on temperature, relative humidity and precipitation Females began to lay eggs in late May of 1991, i.e. late April of 1992 Under our conditions, the stated period approximated 2 months, and one female lay on average 50 eggs. Mobile larvae appeared in early June of 1991 and mid May of 1992. Larvae of the second degree were recorded in mid-July of 1991 and late June of 1992. Young females appeared on the 10th August 1991 and the 21st July, 1992. Males were registered several days later. The development of females, i.e. males lasted 80-88 days, i.e 84-92 days respectively. Upon fertilization, females started diapause, and males died The presence of Epidiaspis leperii was recorded at 10 localities in pear plantings, i.e. at 4 localities in apple plantings with no regular control measures applied. It was not registered in the plantings with regular application of chemical substances. Red pear scale formed large colonies the estimation mark being 3 and 4, whereas it occurred individually or in small colonies on apple, the attack intensity amounting to 2 and 3 Epidiaspis leperii is a polyfagic species and a dangerous fruit pest primarily of pear, while it occurs sporadically on apple. In case of severe attack, it may cause withering of young trees, thus the control and adequate measures are a must.
AB - U radu su prikazani rezultati dvogodišnjeg proučavanja bionomije crvene kruškine štitaste vaši, Epidiaspis leperii Signoret. Istraživanja su obavljena u zasadima kruške i jabuke u 19 lokaliteta u Srbiji.
